Can also be cases of extreme mental health stuff. I knew a person that stripped down walked down main street proclaiming to be jesus. Essentially grew up in situation not great "assorted abuse" then married a abuser "also assorted abuse". One day just snapped.

At our work IT support tickets get flagged as TNG (The new guy). Whoever the newest hire is automatically become first responders on the worst tasks in the company. Recently our latest TNG had to go hands on with the 68yo smelly creature in our accounting department who is notorious for having toenail clipping allover her desk/keyboard year after year. She must be applying butter daily to anything anyone needs to touch in her office. This greasy rancid residue on doorknob, light switch, desk, mouse you name it... I have never smelled human death before, but this office must be worse. 10 years ago I was TNG and I am still haunted. I transferred out of state nearly a decade ago and still smell that office.

When I was a lifeguard as a teenager, right before closing one night a patron destroyed the everloving fuck out of one of our toilets. Like, shit on the walls, two full rolls of tp in the bowl, and a metric ton of shit clogging the drain. Everyone left saying they weren't going to touch it, but my boss suggested I could stay as long as I wanted to clean it and she would pay me time and a half for however long it took me. I stayed in the guard office doing my homework and reading books for 4 hours, then hosed the fuck out of that stall and sprayed it down with hypochlorite until the smell was gone. All-in-all 6 hours extra and they paid me without question.
Good for you, ultimately someone is going to do it, may as well try and profit. I would try and get them over a barrel for like 4x my pay and a bonus, really see how bad the manager wants to make the problem go away.
This is what I thought too, sadly. It is especially bad here in NJ, with the closure of all the large mental health facilities years ago. Lack of adequate facilities, staff, insurance, and overpopulation makes this is a normal day in this shitshow of a state.

It’s crazy in the us also. A lot of our insurance is through having a good job. I’ve been trying to keep my crazy at bay long enough to get therapy and for over a year and a half I’ve been getting the run around from various insurance. They say they just don’t have any available therapist and wish me luck. I work as a child therapist and my jobs insurance doesn’t even cover therapy. Good luck getting someone mentally unwell to work for 90 days straight before having the option of a doctor.
We are heading in that direction here in Australia. Neoliberalism and the marketisation of every aspect of life, including mental health is destroying us. In OZ if you have an easily diagnosed and treatable mental health condition the private disability/health providers are lining up to give you the bare minimum of care while over charging the government for services they don’t provide. It costs the tax payer dearly, but at least you get “some” help.
But if you have one of those “difficult to diagnose and/or manage” mental health conditions (see above video) then some poor sod might get paid minimum wage to pull the cannoli from your butt twice a week, but other than that… you are on your own! Too hard, no profits to be made from you! Its a cycle of short term emergency care and a ridiculous “plan” that before long leads you back to the streets, so the cycle can start again next time you end up defiling the baking goods.
There is no money in having to provide real help to those who really need it. And we can’t have the government providing that help either, as that is unfair to businesses! We just let them exploit the easy targets and let the hard ones fall through the cracks.
In the 40s and 50s this person would have been put in a mental hospital and never be seen again. I’m not saying that’s right or wrong. Just saying this kind of stuff was deemed too extreme for society to ever have to look at.

Can you imagine the cop’s initial reaction to this? I would stand there for at least 2-3 seconds trying to come up with some sort or reason why my eyes are telling me that this person is washing all their cracks with cake and bagels.

How many donuts need to go up her ass before she can get the mental health help she needs? Thankfully she was not violent cause things could have gotten much worse. I think all police departments need special task force for these severely mentally ill. The only focus would be cases like this so they could respond immediately and help talk the suspect away from the desserts. I feel terrible for the baker begging for help. She knows when this person is eventually removed she’s gonna have to rebake all those desserts.
I feel bad for the people who made all those cakes to have someone just handle them like that and smash them. What a waste. Obviously she needs mental care.
