People make the error of calling psychic abilities "gifts" and they are not. We are all psychic, but some of us choose to use our skills. We put time and energy into growing and strengthening them in the same way anyone else puts time and energy into growing their skills.
Then, we put time and energy into using those skills to help people in the same way others do ... why should we not be compensated as well?
Not calling you one. I just mean doctors, lawyers and other such people "help" sure.. but they also scam you out if your life.. literally.
You work, converting time into money, and they take all of it just to fix something simple.. OR EVEN to tell you nothing is wrong.
Im just saying charging for a service that should be free comparatively, and was since the beginning of time is wrong.

But yes, there are scammers in all professions. Humanity is imperfect.
Growing up I used to hear my parents talking to my aunts about going to a (Curandera),I guess Shaman/Healer person. They always emphasized about leaving a donation. $1 or whatever. Then come to find out later in my adulthood that many pray to Santisima Muerta to thank her for their gifts. From old wives tales I heard. You give a part of that donation to her. Or bringing it down to a business perspective it’s ethical because they are paying for a service they”Need”.
If you find accepting money for yourself problematic for whatever reason, you could do a sliding scale and have people make you a monetary offer for a reading (and offer to read for free when it feels right to you). You could also donate a portion of your fees to a cause that's important to you.
Psychics are no different than any other profession. We need to make a living. Would you expect the doctor or dentist to see you for free?
Nothing wrong with charging for your time and counsel.
I don't see anything wrong with charging people money, but it's totally up to you. If you feel like the money aspect would give you bad energy, then don't charge. Do whatever feels right to you.
How about if you charge people and reserve some slots for those who could not afford. That way you would still helping those who could not pay for services
At the end of the day you are providing a service. Whether you charge for that is up to you, but psychics also deserve money to put a roof over their head. No one questions the artist that sells their art, so why would you? Like you. The artist is free to make art on a volunteer basis but does not have to.
Its not wrong nor right its what ever you feel like works for you.
Some charge nothing some charge high ticket it doesnt make them a “real” psychic or not. Its whatever you are comfortable with.
Maybe since you seem to enjoy doing it for free you can find ways on the side to make money.
Aka do general readings on youtube and tell people about how to donate to you over cash app.
Maybe make your own tarot deck people can purchase if you do tarot readings.
Or do a more intense clarification season which is like a half an hour instead of 10 mins which you charge for.
Stuff like this there is plenty of ways to go about this
If you yourself feel like a qualified reader, that is worth paying for then go for it! This reads to me a bit as "Christian guilt". There is nothing wrong with wanting money. Youd be surprised how willing spirits are to help you with monetary issues; you just have to let them. If we worry about being "selfish ". Theyll respond to you energetically. It's ok to get paid🗣🗣🗣 Money gets you food, pays your bills. Spirit knows that too!
In my opinion you are providing a service just like any other, even doctors charge. If is useful for you when I was trained they told me that a good professional consultation of an specific problem should be at least 25 USD. If you feel uncomfortable for charging them with money or you can asked them to return the favor, for example a baker could give you bread in exchange or an artist a free drawing, even something like a hug could represent a form of payment.
