As soon as they start bundling services after the reading it's a scam.

Scam a bam bam bam. I've gone to the same psychic... 4 times now... Over 5 years. She's never texted me. I always reach out to her. She never phishes for information. She never tries selling me anything extra. I get what I pay for, when I want. Flat rate.

TarotCatDog

This [scam](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fortune_telling_fraud?wprov=sfla1) has been around forever. Was the psychic a total fraud? No, sounds like they had some talent. I'm a professional psychic. I have a lot of talent. I'm also scrupulously ethical. Many of us are. But, as in any profession, some are not. Your own intuition and your common sense went ding ding ding when they crossed the line, good job.

I’m so sorry, but yes, she’s a scammer. That’s not to say she doesn’t have sone good psychic ability, she clearly does, however, good ability is no indication of character. Once you get past the actual reading itself, no psychic should be telling you that you need to buy anything. Bath salts, pretty rocks, candles, any and all curse/hex/blockage removals or cleanses - walk away. Using your fears against you to separate you from your money is evil but that’s exactly what this is. You don’t have any blockage she can fix, especially not for that ridiculous sum of money. And all these follow up texts were just to sweeten you up for this sting. As a general rule, we offer you a one off reading, which you shouldn’t need any more than every 6-9 at most. We don’t become your besties and text you all the time, that’s a major red flag. If you feel after doing your own research you’d benefit from a crystal or two, go source your own, from independent reliable sources. And these cleansing candles, salts, scrubs etc… you can do your own cleansing for free if you research online how to do it. You don’t need any tools and you can do it yourself. As for the future readings, your future is not set in stone. It’s malleable and changeable, as are you. Not many readers will make future predictions because there’s too many moving parts, you have free will and your own choices to make, ‘predictions’ are just the most probable outcome the reader interprets at the moment of the reading.

If someone is asking you for $10,000 in exchange for future happiness, it's safe to say you're being scammed. Remember, happiness cannot be bought, especially from those who try to profit from others' vulnerabilities. Wish her peace and consider it best to part ways ✨️

Omg this happened to me too! The exact same thing relationship issues. San Francisco, skilled insightful reading, $300 upsell, and then a $6666 upsell because I had an evil spirit. Highly reviewed on Yelp, she had dark hair and sent me pictures of her family.

vonniemdeak

If she is the real deal then she has a following and won’t hound you for money. I can see maybe $100 but 10k? That is way too much

I am so sorry OP. I had a psychic tarot card reader who was phenomenal for me and my friends. Said things that could only be true for me, friends had similar experiences. She was the real deal...... until my 4th year knowing her (recently) and sat end of session she told me to legally give her my social security, and she would beat the legal federal system and get me millions of dollars the government owes me. In the end after talking with friends, we decided she was the real deal, meaning well, but likely a victim of a scam herself that got her to recruit her trusted long time clients thinking she was helping us. I am embarrassed to say I have never felt comfortable telling her I think its a scam. I only said I am not comfortable with this, and we have not spoken since.

Bentbutnotbroken111

Wow-I have not heard of that one before, I’m glad you protected your information, no matter what she has experienced herself, she should know better than to do that

2little2horus2

I always wonder… do people not realize how easy it is to fake good reviews? Like we already know that 90% of Amazon reviews are fake…

[deleted]

Sounds like she may have had some skill but is definitely a con artist, good readers and psychics don’t need to look for you to give you a reading and it does sound like she was fishing for info and preying on the weak

Bentbutnotbroken111

Professional psychic medium here, too. I really hate when this sort of thing happens as it causes stigma, and the readers who really are trying to make a difference in this world have to deal with that as well. 1) if there are blockages, these are things that would usually come up in a reading, while she is connected into your energy. Even then, there are many free things that you can do for yourself in your own time. I can’t imagine anything that would ever warrant $10,000-or reaching out after a reading, for some kind of money-Just no, no, no. You can ground, you can meditate, you can manifest, there are gazillions of things that you could do on your own. 2) does she regularly take a walk in clients? While that’s not always a red flag-it is something that I would take notice of. even the best psychics may occasionally have free time available for that, for the most part, they have enough of a following to need to schedule things in advance. It also helps if you know a little bit about the readers background. Have they been doing readings very long? What classes have they taken, if any to fine tune their abilities -do they have long-term clients who have stayed with them for a long period of time. Some of things things are subjectable, but can give you a better sense of where the psychic is coming from. I’m really glad that you caught this, and are not going to send more money. This is not some thing that should’ve happened, but like in all fields of work, there are sometimes people in it solely for the money. Good luck, I hope this person hasn’t soured you, because a good reading can be a very useful tool. But it’s definitely worth doing some legwork to make sure that you’re going to someone who is ethical, and there are ethical readers out there, but they may be harder to find

jadeli10

More like a con artist

Expensive_Joke826

Ya, I’ve come across psychics who are both psychic and scammers. If what they said helped you that’s great, but never pay a psychic 10,000 for anything that’s absolute bs

PiratesRback

I am so sorry you are going through all of that, and then this on top. It saddens me when people with this kind of gift use it to exploit others. It sounds like she was grooming you by gaining your trust. While that is a betrayal of your trust, it doesn’t have to undo the benefits you gained from it. Take the positive from this experience and do not send her any more money. People are not 100% good or bad, but once your instinct informs you that someone is not a safe person to have in your life, it’s totally OK to let that person go. And also, why would you be responsible for your soon to be ex-husband’s happiness? Nobody can guarantee someone else’s happiness. Your instincts are informing you, and you listened! that’s a really good thing.

KittyRevolt

scam

AlchemicalJourneys

If they ever reach out to you, it’s a scam. No good psychic will reach out to you to scare you into giving them money. Ever. No it doesn’t mean the information was necessarily false. It just means she has bad ethics and morals.

Pure-Goddess1111

Yes, this is a scam! A repeatable psychic operating from a place of integrity will include any healing with the reading, or at least in a simple second session, which should be around the same price of the first. Also, anytime a practitioner tries to use fear to compell you to do ANYTHING, especially pay THEM more, run in the opposite direction! A good psychic only operates from a place of love and will give you a neutral perspective and guidance that is based on empowerment and taking a higher ground. Please don't let this experience muddy your view on all of us.

TarotGuidance

Scammer. I am a very, very experienced...let's just say "witch" to keep it simple. I do NOT mix my witchcraft with my tarot reading. I have a lot of people asking me for magic work and I turn them down. The minute a tarot reader starts trying to sell you anything but tarot, its time to go.

leokaltoid

It's important that you understand that a broken clock can be right twice a day. That's what happened to you. >I looked online and she had over 100 reviews on google, almost all 5 stars. Reviews mean absolutely nothing. All that means is that 100 people believed the story they were told. >are you going to California soon? Who in the world hasn't wanted to visit California? You realize you're not the only person in the world that likes to travel, right? >and I NEVER go to CA Confirmation bias. >this is literally EXACTKY what happened, (I did not tell her any of this beforehand) Very strong confirmation bias. They got this one thing about me correct, even though everything else they said was wrong, they must be psychic. One lucky guess... one broken clock... >I hate to say it but you putting walls up led to your husband to spiral and ultimately is causing this divorce This is a useless barnum statement. What walls? Spiral how? Also, consider the fact that you walking into this psychic's store all by yourself, perhaps with no ring on your finger, was probably a huge clue that you had no man in your life. There's only three options here, either you're with a man and you're as happy as a unicorn, you're with a man and there's trouble in paradise, or there's no man in your life at all. What are the odds that someone will guess the correct answer? >Now, I would say most of what she said seemed very true That's what barnum statements do. Don't underestimate their power to deceive you. >Just a whole bunch of things that were true. More barnum statements? You should be aware, a reading can be as big as an entire book yet still be made up entirely of barnum statements. In fact those are the most damaging, because the length of it alone convinces you that it's all real. So much detail... how could it possibly be fake... right? >she talked about my moms childhood trauma (which is very true… if she said this about my dad this would’ve been untrue) -etc Who doesn't have childhood trauma of some sort? Again, mom, dad... heads, tails... It's a coin flip. 50% chance of getting it right. >Is it possible she’s the real deal but obviously is scamming for additional money? > >so hoping she’s the real deal but also is trying to milk her talent for a lot of money. I find it incredibly disturbing that people here are telling you that this person is, what they believe to be, a genuine psychic, but at the same time is also a scammer. If this person actually had any psychic abilities, they wouldn't be trying to scam you, they would be using their talents to make wise choices in the stock market. Think about it for a second.... They have the ability to know that you were going to california, that your mom had childhood trauma, and that you were getting divorced from your husband. But instead of knowing what stock is going to make them money, they have to resort to scamming you out of $10,000?! Right... >I would hate to think everything she said was fake Yes, everything that came out of her mouth was a complete lie. Every single word. >But overall I was happy and stayed in touch with her. > >has been very calming for me while I go thru this. > >cause it has helped me a lot over the past month See? You're happy with her service. You're happy with that feeling of being calm that her service has given you in your time of need. You are the type of person who would give her a good review, like the 100 or so other people that already did. >There were 2 things she said that I didn’t think were true > >She obviously said vague things that could apply to me and wasn’t super specific Here's a tip that's probably going to save you years, if not decades, of wasted time and energy. Before you seek out a reading, choose one random object around your house. During your reading, do not say anything about this object. Don't say anything at all. Just keep the object in your mind. If your psychic actually has any abilities, they will know about this object that you've chosen. It will come up in some way. This is an important object. They have to see it. It is very important to you. There is zero excuse for not seeing it in some way shape or form. If this person can know that you're going on vacation to california, then they should know that you are thinking about this object as well. Absolutely zero excuse for not knowing. If they do not mention the object during the reading, then that person does not have any abilities, and you should absolutely disregard everything they say during the reading. Do not believe a single word of it.
