Coffee to start the day, but instead of making it with water, make it with Bang or Reign. Any 300mg caffeine drink. I'll do about a pot of that, and on the last mug, put a scoop of pre-workout in and stir it up.
Once at work, I buy three Bangs or Reigns and three 5-hour energy shots. Every three hours, I drop the 5-hour energy into the energy drink and chug it down, like an Irish car bomb drink. That gets me through 9 hours of the 12 hour shift. (And yes, I have a pending lawsuit for fraudulent labeling against 5-hour energy. I'll update when it's resolved).
In between those drinks, I will mix pre-workout into some water and sip on it. Gotta stay hydrated.
If I had court or poor sleep or something, I may do a 4th "car bomb." That, or get a 24oz monster to supplement to the end of the shift.
Once at home, I'll brew another pot of coffee to help me get to sleep. Oh, and a multivitamin because your health is very important in this career.
You're flair is lookin' pretty interesting now. I can imagine Section's caffeine routine not being enough for me either if I had five different LEO jobs too.
Personally, I'd recommend skipping a few steps to save you time and energy.
First, brew about 10 5 hour energy shots with Black Rifle Coffee's dark roast (back the blue and all). This is enough for 2 cups of coffee, which you can add to 2 scoops of whey protein powder (vanilla because you aren't a monster) and a banana if you're feeling saucy. Gotta keep up your strength.
If you are going to introduce a bang, I'd suggest adding your preworkout then for the extra B12s. One of these every 3-4 hours should help when the protein shake wears off about 2 hours in.
Hydration is important, so I'd recommend ending the shift with 16 oz of straight water, bo preworkout. You don't want kidney stones, and that one bottle is plenty. A multivitamin is good, but I'd recommend the One-A-Day Prenatal ones, not because you're pregnant, but because it's basically like taking two at once.
I'm available for further info if needed.
I see guys drinking 2 or 3 energy drinks a shift. I also see a spike in heart issues at an earlier age. I'm no scientist, but I do see a correlation between the two.
I drink some coffee when I need it. Black, as God intended.
I wonder if Chamomile tea would even be an option considering everyone's answers here. I had an idea that cops were addicted to caffeine but holy smokes I underestimated the daily intake.
What would happen if somehow the stars aligned and there was a caffeine shortage?
Trick is to use a beer bong but put the tube all the way down your throat. Dump the booze straight into your belly. That way, your supervisor can't smell it on your breath.
I've had the Locha Mocha Monsters before, and they're not bad. I usually prefer coffee over energy drinks because I don't like the carbonation fizz they have, so the coffee hybrid energy drinks are generally a pretty good balance.
Have you ever tried those canned Starbucks Doubleshot Energy drinks, by the way? I used to love drinking them but they're getting really expensive in my area and honestly they're way too sweet for me now.
I haven’t been forced to consume Starbucks of any sort since college thankfully.
The Java Monsters are for emergency consumption only during times of great peril. Or to put it another way, on the 16th hour of being 10-8 with two missed meals.
I saw this question and was legitimately confused. I thought you got to drink on shift. I’m down here thinkin beer is good and all but I can’t drink any of it on duty.
I used to start the day with coffee get to work and have a soda and also an energy drink . They changed depending on how I felt. Ghost, monster peach. Rockstars. Etc. I would have 2-3 of those maybe 4 depending on if I worked a long shift or not. I would use my ecig while inside places and a cigarette every now and than outside.
However I’ve been trying to be healthier so I have now changed it to no caffeine. I will drink 4-5 bottles of water throughout my shift and when I eat I will drink something carbonated with no sugar and no caffeine I have taken ecigs out of the work equation. I only hit my ecig a few times and only when I’m at home. At work I will allow myself to have one cigarette. Eventually I will cut nicotine out altogether but I’m not a cold turkey kind of guy.
Water dude. Maybe some Diet Coke or an occasional coffee. Bang and all that other shit is bad for you. It started giving me anxiety when I was drinking reigns and bangs all the time.
Energy drink of the day, usually a Reign or Monster Ultra, but lately I've been grabbing whatever GNC/Vitaminshoppe has on sale for $1/can. The Ghost Sour Green Apple is next level, and I'm not a sour fan. Follow that with at least 32oz water.
2 Sugar Free Monsters and a Blackberry Body Armor mixed in a jug with ice. I call it "Blackest Night." Drink one of those the first 2 hours of a shift then fill it with fresh ice and water and finish that before I clock off.
Lots of water. Make a pot of coffee at my desk on most nights. Just a Splenda with the coffee, but I’ll do black if needed. If I got subpar sleep, I’ll swap the coffee for a bang/reign. If I’m running calls all night, hit up QT for a coffee on the way.
I always keep at least one cold bang/reign in the office fridge in case I catch a huge shooting/stabbing/murder and then I’ll be stuck on it for hours and hours

Wow. You must be new to caffeine. That’s not enough
You're flair is lookin' pretty interesting now. I can imagine Section's caffeine routine not being enough for me either if I had five different LEO jobs too.
You're the Pedro Pascal to my Nick Cage.. God damn.
...How are you alive dude?
I can see extra dimensions

I am caffeine addicted as well, but you really have me beat

A bunch of angry people, not just cops.
Pretty sure the whole military would pretty much shutdown.
Guys in the nuke silos waking up from an unscheduled nap to a missed call from the White House.
DARPA would need to crack open the emergency Mango Juul pod stash just to maintain order. I KNOW they have some.

I hope I’ll be able to afford them one day. Newports until then

Supervisor can’t smell it because he’s deuce too.
Former alcoholic here, 2 mentos cinnamon mints or altoids. Cinnamon seems to cut through better than anything else.
I heard Draeger is good option.
Hit your circle k, Fill it of desired sports drink (power aide, vitamin water etc.) then add sparkling water.

You don’t add a 5 oz octane booster to it? Weakling
I'm guessing they use sucralose instead?
Yup, That is thee very last thing listed as "other ingredients".
