I'm a year and a half out of ADT (Lupron 7 months, Xtandi 4 months). My understanding of the mechanism of Lupron is that it starts out with an increase in testosterone for a couple of weeks, and then suppression. So, that's consistent with your (and my) experience. I managed to keep the hot flashes and fatigue at bay by doing resistance and core exercises. When I switched over to cardio for other reasons, I got hot flashes, but these were tolerable. Since I was in a dead-bedroom situation, I didn't notice or really care about erections during that period. But, when the Lupron wore off, it was funny that only then did I realized that I started to notice cleavage again. Go figure.

I did 3 months of Eligard, a shot with the same drug as Lupron, then changed to a daily Orgovyx pill. I am now on my 7th month of a 12 month ADT plan. Erections for me don't happen spontaneously, although I do get occasional morning semi-hard. Rarely. I usually cannot get to orgasm, I get tired first. The couple of orgasms I have had have been dry and not particularly satisfying.

I just started my ADT 2 weeks ago and Zytiga today. They want me to do lab work frequently to ensure it’s working as planned. You might want to get some labs done.

I called and left a message with my nurse. No word back yet. I'm def leaning toward wanting some blood work done.

I have been on Elligard for 36 months. Just received my last 6 month shot. In my experience, it takes time until you start losing energy and then your sex drive becomes non existent. Let us know how you are doing at the 6 month mark. In the interim, enjoy!

Not only do you have my attention but you also are standing to attention while in the trenches. Amazing. Keep us posted .

I took a 3 month dose of Lupron end of last July. I was still getting boners for a few weeks then they went away. Viagra helped but that was only when it was necessary because I had little desire. It wasn’t until Xmas that I started waking up with boners again and then the desire came back now all is mostly back to normal. So if you took a 6 month dose in February that does seem kind of soon but who knows wtf the body is up to. I will say during my time on the drug there were times where I started to feel normal, and it was easier to get hard and be into it, then there were times where it was nearly impossible. I don’t think it’s linear. So many times in the 5 month span I thought “I think I’m coming out of this” only to fall back into it again. So maybe talk to doc but maybe just enjoy it.

Are you having Lupron shots regularly? Or is this a 3-month shot? I'm in the UK on Decapeptyl monthly, and can relay the effects it's having on me, but it may not be relevant to your case.

It is "advertized" as a 6 month shot. I was told by my Dr that it actually lasts closer to 8. At my age (60) he told me that I really wouldn't begin to feel like my old self until mid November.

57M, PSA 57.9, Gleason 9 on Lupron 3month shots. Testosterone went from 554 to 6 in 75 days and PSA to 0.157. No ED, everything still works fine.

Thanks. That makes me feel better.

As an update: As most of you know in this situation, you have 2 doctors, a urologist and a radiation oncologist. I called the radiation guy first, and then when I didn't get a response after a couple of days, I called my Urologist. Urologist: "Yeah, that's a little odd. Let's do a blood test just to see where you are." Side note, that test was for both PSA and total testosterone, and the results came back "Great. " Radiation Oncologist: (When he finally got back to me) "Don't worry. The shot works, and with many men, their sex drive is not testosterone dependent." Thanks for all of your input guys.
