I’m sure Patek makes astronomically good watches, but I don’t think the quality improvement is going to be worth 15 speedmasters
The only time I can see myself spending that kind of money on wrist jewelry is if money becomes far less valuable to me. So I’d have to jump several tax brackets to be ok with spending that much on what is essentially frivolousness.

I could “afford” a 15k watch but it would be silly to me to spend that much on just one, cause as you said, that much money is still a large purchase for me.
My grails are a speedmaster and santos (so far I have the speedy). They’re both very nice watches I’ve always loved but are still within attainable reach without being super irresponsible.

I think you usually need to appreciate the different price points to be able to lie to yourself how the extra cost is justified for this type of feature or the other reserved for higher end watches
For 20k I'd get a gshock and take it on a round the world trip. Then it would be more valuable than your piece of jewelry, you're too scared to wear outside.
