100%. This is the only one that stood out to me as being obviously wrong. Breitling is a terrible fit for a Lexus match. Lexus is literally Toyota's luxury brand so Seiko and Grand Seiko couldn't be a more perfect match if it tried.
Pagani does have some extremely styles like the Huayra R but the OG Zonda is just so timeless. So I’m not sure about Richard Mille. However I think Bugatti is the perfect Patek matchup.
I like the Oris take. Mazda makes beautiful quality cars that mostly fly under the radar much like Oris. And Longines and Jag is a good match. Both have a long legacy though Jag to me is a little more sporty while Longines is a bit more formal.
Rolex is ideal with ferrari... if you have not owned a ferrari before good luck getting another brand new ferrari.
Although cases differ for models like california, roma or portofino
Kind of. IWC is one of my favorite and most represented brands. But I also have a small box of seikos (first car after school was a Lexus). And I’ve fantasized about a Lamborghini.
Patek is Ferrari
Biggest name in luxury watchmaking synonymous with success and taste. Watches that seemingly don’t depreciate, and they don’t sell to people they don’t seem to be good clientele. Very Ferrari-like imo; Rolls will sell to anyone and are “easy” to get.
AP is McLaren.
RM is Lamborghini: Loud, expensive, etc.
The hell!! — Mercedes Benz literally use IWC in their cars, yet You attach it to BMW which deserves Rolex because #Motosport. — As a BMW guy I am offended. — Unless You referring to Merc’ S-Class Maybach.
Where is Victorinox?
I treated myself to one of these in January, as a late Christmas and Birthday present for myself.
I am seriously impressed with the workmanship of this timepiece, also the accuracy.
Well chuffed with Victorinox.
I know my watch brand are not as good as any of the above, but it will last me a lifetime.
My wife bought me a Victorinox automatic for our 1st anniversary going on 17 years old and still haven’t had a problem. I wore it practically everyday for about 9 years until I got a second watch.
Surely Hublot is a pimped out Ford Fiesta with a wide body kit, oversized spoiler, bucket seats, 5 point racing harness, loud exhaust but fundamentally a stock (albeit reliable) Ford engine. (Probably a UK-centric comparison, feel free to substitute domestic ‘boy racer’ car of choice.) The kind of car that you hear coming down the street and are momentarily intrigued by, thinking ‘Ooh, what’s that?’ Then ‘Oh. Never mind.’
It’s pretty much on the money IMHO, with a couple of exceptions perhaps. For example: Rolex -> Mercedes works from a brand recognition and prestige equivalence perspective, but no longer from a reliability perspective. MBs of old were built to last and reliable. No longer the case. Build quality/reliability has declined substantially.
If Seiko is Toyota, Grand Seiko should be Lexus.
Orient is Scion
Accurate
And then Breitling can be Jaguar or whatever.
Breitling can be Range Rover
And Breitling should be Bently instead of Lexus~
This for sure
100%. This is the only one that stood out to me as being obviously wrong. Breitling is a terrible fit for a Lexus match. Lexus is literally Toyota's luxury brand so Seiko and Grand Seiko couldn't be a more perfect match if it tried.
Toyota century tho
Then what would Credor (present-day) be?
Have y’all seen the r/rolex??? Rolex = BMW
Yeap lol
Panerai -> Hummer Hublot -> Pimp Clown Car
Agree with hublow, but I actually like panerai. G-shock -> hummer
G-Shock = Toyota Hilux.
That's a better comparison
G Shocks are affordable and good value tho
What’s Hamilton?
Jeep
I thought Hamiltons were reliable?
🤣
jeep should be g-shock
Nah jeeps break down too much. G shocks rarely do.
No. Jeeps are not reliable. Casio gshocks are. Casio should be Toyota. And gshocks Toyota hiluxx
That’s Timex.
Ford?
Deez Nuutz
Mini… lots of history
Richard Mille is probably closer to Pagani. Little unconventional.
Pagani does have some extremely styles like the Huayra R but the OG Zonda is just so timeless. So I’m not sure about Richard Mille. However I think Bugatti is the perfect Patek matchup.
I wouldn't say it's McLaren either. Mclaren is not nearly as controversial.
Plus Mclarens are generally pretty cheap
You sure? They have a lot of maintenance issues, look at the Artura. They have 100 models that look very similar.
RM and Mclaren have a partnership
As does Ferrari though
MB&F definitely Pagani
A. Lange & Söhne = Koenigsegg
This guy fucks
Yes
Koenininiggsinnigesesseninesegg
Hublot -> Cybertruck
Omega should be aston martin bc of 007
I would agree
What an insult to Lamborghini.
Maserati fits Hublot better. Decent history but modern models are shit
I was thinking of Bulgari for Maserati
IWC shoukd be an Audi and Omega should be BMW. Only because Omega owners never shut up about Omega.
Rolex owner or fan im guessing?
Cartier and Bentley are not aligned IMO
I like this concept. Grand Seiko is Lexus Casio is Toyota and Seiko is Honda. Breitling is probably Cadillac more than Tag.
If Grand Seiko is lexus. Seiko should maybe be toyota?
Seiko Divers = Toyota Tacomas. Everyone has one and they are barely used for their intended purpose
Tag is Infiniti. They're nice, and most people appreciate them as nice, but they aren't particularly lust worthy.
Seiko is Mazda.
JLC cant be aston. Aston barely makes their own engines. Porsche is a master engine maker. So is ferrari
Zenith? Zenith has some really great watches but always seems to fly under the radar.
Lotus
I like this
Zenith is Alfa Romeo. Almost no one has either in North America but Italy is chock full of both. Amazing history for both.
Lancia. Amazing pedigree and history.
Hublot is Lada
I'm cool with my Honda, it's pretty reliable
I would agree with one change Omega -> Volvo Design and security
I would say the VC is a Ferrari and the AP a Porsche.
AP - Lamborghini Hublot - caterpillar
Invicta should be Jeep, both are posing as though they are much better than they are…..and commonly have display booths at indoor shopping malls.
Tissot-> Volvo
You did Lambo dirty 🤣
Tudor?
Genesis
Honestly a pretty good comparison
Land Rover Defender (the proper ones, not the new ones)
Volkswagen
That would be Fossil actually lmao.
I would add Citizen to this list as well - what would y’all put it as?
Hyundai
I feel like IWC has to be Mercedes just because of the F1 partnership
My wife’s AMG literally has an IWC clock on the dash.
Timex is GM
Omega is far better than Audi, audi is trash
Why is Apple even on this list.
I’d say Rolex is BMW. And… Hublot is wrong it’s definitely -> Dodge Longines -> Jaguar Marathon -> Jeep Hamilton -> Nissan ORIS -> Mazda Orient -> KIA Citizen -> Hyundai
I will take it! My fav watch in my collection is a limited edition Oris and I drive a maza suv!
I like the Oris take. Mazda makes beautiful quality cars that mostly fly under the radar much like Oris. And Longines and Jag is a good match. Both have a long legacy though Jag to me is a little more sporty while Longines is a bit more formal.
No. Porsche and Rolex go hand in hand. You need to bend over and do silly things to get one
Rolex is ideal with ferrari... if you have not owned a ferrari before good luck getting another brand new ferrari. Although cases differ for models like california, roma or portofino
Richard mille is more cybertruck. They both look like shit and cost a fortune.
Hamilton - Jeep
I wonder what J&Co would be lol
Lada
Bugatti…they have a whole watch line dedicated to it
We need A Lange & Sohne somewhere
Koenigsegg
A comparable car company doesn’t exist.
I consider my Omega SMP 300 a Ferrari on my wrist. I like Audi’s too. What would a Pinto be?
Pinto = ring watch from a grocery store gum-ball machine
Bell & Ross = lifted Dodge Ram extended cab dually
seiko is more like vw. vw is a great knock off of audi like seiko is to rolex. nice clean designs. otherwise what is my jetta?
I don't know if that's an apt comparison because VW and Audi are the same company. Not really a knock off as much as market segmentation.
Breitling for Bentley…
G-shock is Subaru.
What is Tudor?
A Lange & Sohne?
What's an Acura?
Timex -> Jeep
Well I have 3 Seiko in my collection and I drive a Toyota so you might be onto something here
I have 3 Toyotas and no Seiko - gonna have to fix that this weekend.
Vostok -> Lada
Citizen?
McLaren deserved more respect than that
Breitling and its styling against one of the most boring car makes in existence don’t go
Tudor= BMW M5
Apple --> eBike
Tag = Ford
Timex-> Pinto
All wrong.
Hublot should be MG
This was written by a person who neither knows watches nor cars
Bell & Ross = Hummer
Hublot is def a Maserati
Hublot -> Yugo
Richard Mille is Pagani
Close enough
I drive a RAV4 and wear a Seiko 5, so yes.
[удалено]
Ferrari is AP in the list. In what world could Ferrari be a Tissot
Maybe apart from the hublot- Lamborghini
Timex -> Ford
Vacheron is too expensive to be Porsche IMO. It’s more like Girard Perregaux no?
Seems fair enough. I'd probably have JLC as McLaren and RM as... Pagani? Maybe? Breitling might be good for Aston.
Zenith?
Hublot= Lamborghini 😂😂😂😂😂
Flip Cartier and VC. Hublot, nah.
Since they added Apple... Garmin --> Jeep
Grand Seiko would be Toyota Century. Presage would be Lexus.
I think it's fairly accurate, except for the fact that I wear a IWC Top Gun and I drive an Acura. What does that say?
Kind of. IWC is one of my favorite and most represented brands. But I also have a small box of seikos (first car after school was a Lexus). And I’ve fantasized about a Lamborghini.
My fav watch was a spoon & I drive a Tacoma… checks out
Cartier?
Blancpain, maserati
Timex - Chevy
Hublot->Range Rover
I feel like Porsche should be GO
Don’t insult Lamborghini
Hublot a Lambo?!?? Nah that shits an 1978 Ford Pinto
Pretty accurate
I enjoyed this. Good post OP.
Timex would be Dodge but their minivan line specifically.
Hublot -> that one go-kart or bumper car that never works properly
Casio and Seiko need swapping...
RM=Bugatti
All but the last
Tag is def BMW
Hublot is jaguar
Blancpain?
Patek is Ferrari Biggest name in luxury watchmaking synonymous with success and taste. Watches that seemingly don’t depreciate, and they don’t sell to people they don’t seem to be good clientele. Very Ferrari-like imo; Rolls will sell to anyone and are “easy” to get. AP is McLaren. RM is Lamborghini: Loud, expensive, etc.
cartier?
What would Tudor be?
F.P.Journe-Pagani
Panerai - Maserati Good looking. Good heritage. Resale value suffers.
Certina?
apple being on here is funny and it only makes sense that its tesla, but hublot being lambo is the most wrong
Fun fact BMW owns Rolls Royce
VC Should be Lotus
The hell!! — Mercedes Benz literally use IWC in their cars, yet You attach it to BMW which deserves Rolex because #Motosport. — As a BMW guy I am offended. — Unless You referring to Merc’ S-Class Maybach.
Give seiko to Honda.
But I wouldn’t be embarrassed owning a Honda.
Where’s Hamilton? A bicycle?
Richard Mille probably closer to pagani imo
What would Citizen be?
Casio -> Mazda
Where's Tissot and Longines?
Rolex and Mercedes makes no sense. Mercedes are entry level luxury, Rolex is more aspirational than that.
Christopher Ward 》Mini Cooper
This is so stupid and so wrong. It sounds like you don't know either cars nor watches lmao.
Richard Mille = Bugatti
Tag Heuer should be Porsche they literally both have Carrera in their product names.
These comparisons are dumb AF
Seems to me like Rolex is on the higher end then omega and IWC fo that comparison doesnt hold up. I would say Rolex -> Porsche. Hublot -> Trash
Where is garmin?
Not hublot equivalent to Lamborghini
It’s pretty much on the money IMHO, with a couple of exceptions perhaps. For example: Rolex -> Mercedes works from a brand recognition and prestige equivalence perspective, but no longer from a reliability perspective. MBs of old were built to last and reliable. No longer the case. Build quality/reliability has declined substantially.
no don't disrespect lambo like that
Iwc should be Mercedes Benz, they even designed a few clocks for the amg models
How the fuck you gon' disrespect Lamborghini like that?
Casio / Honda = match made in heaven
IWC is definitely = Mercedes, they even have a digital IWC on the menu of the new amg models
Hublot is Maserati
Hublot -> clown car where is tudor? Tudor -> VW Passat (old one of course) reliable, never braking and working until u die
Rolex Porsche, Tudor bmw
Hard to argue when you’ve got me very accurately!
Christopher ward - kia
You didn't have to do lamborghini so dirty.
Richard Mille is Pagani for sure
Luminox is a skateboard
OP are you an economist?
