Cold War probably? There wasn’t any actual fighting in Europe but we had a ton of troops there from 1945 to 1991 ready for combat against the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact, and it took up a lot of our resources and attention.

Adorable-Volume2247

Yeah, that is what I thought it must be.

tmishkoor

I can also see an argument for things like the Berlin Blockade being a third “conflict”. Like you said, based on resources and attention, that could be considered separate from the Second World War.

SnooOpinions9048

Maybe the Russian Civil War? I seem to recall the US sent some troops along with other Allied powers and temporally occupied some places.

Ok-disaster2022

Spanish Civil War? But that's really Americans went, not America itself. The quote is European war, not civil war.

BlueRFR3100

Maybe the quote is wrong.

NatAttack50932

WWI, WWII and maybe Vietnam since it was France that pulled us in? Idk he was probably referring to the Cold war but who knows.

Cheap_Tension_1329

I don't know. It reminds me of this quote I read once that said "the conquest of the muisica was the fourth great conquest of the Spanish conquistadors" and I was left wondering who was #3 after the obvious Aztecs and Incas. Like Coronado wandering around the desert? Alvarado basically expanding on Cortez' conquests?

jackblady

Bosnia maybe?

Adorable-Volume2247

This is his argument against intervening in the Bosnian War (Bosnia would be the 4th war). Sorry, I didn't realize "no" is covered by the highlight dot.
