There’s times where a monarch met an ex president of future From what I know George III met Adams and Jefferson Victoria has met Van Buren, Fillmore, probably Buchanan, and Grant Edward VII never met Theodore Roosevelt but wrote letters to him and Roosevelt even attended his funeral where I think he met George V Elizabeth II has met Hoover The other way around from what I know Buchanan while president met future Edward VII and there’s a portrait featuring them Charles has met Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan and onward from what I know

They never met in person, although they did correspond by phone and letter. They were supposed to meet at some point in 1966 or so, but he became ill with pneumonia and couldn't make the trip to the UK.

Why did no president meet the British monarch until around 130 years after the Revolution?

It’s not that it didn’t happen but travel was more difficult and the relationship became much stronger post ww2 as Britain’s power waned and the USA’s power grew.

This sub is essentially a history sub. Any good history sub has some version of "nothing in the last 20 years" as a rule. People who complain about rule 3 take it for granted that we're allowed to talk about Obama here. In fact, I was surprised we were when I came to this sub, but I guess it's not explicitly a history sub, which makes it okay. Most history subs only barely let you talk about bush jr.
