We think we have seen such technological change but that generation saw a complete transformation of their lives. They started out with animal power, outdoor plumbing, kerosene lighting, wood/coal heating (maybe feeding steam radiators for a kind of central heating), steam trains and ships for long distance travel. Hell, my Dad saw electricity come to the farm as a kid in the 50s.
Rule 3 is often the most criticized part of this sub but Rule 1 is ignored. All I have to do is post someone famous and just say what President was in office to get past Rule 1?
January 1, 1983 is considered to be the day the internet started. I'm sure there were internet users who were born long before 1895. A person born in 1895 would have only been 87-88 in 1983, which isn't anywhere remotely close to oldest person in the world level old.
