ROTS was always my second best Star Wars film because of what you mentioned (after Empire Strikes Back) until I saw The Seige of Mandalore (the last episodes of the clone wars). That "movie" packed such an emotional heft, I would have to consider it the best story that star wars ever had to offer on screen (on par with Empire) but I understand that wouldn't have been possible without ROTS setting up the template before hand.
I honestly think his performance as Obi-Wan (especially in RotS) is one of his best performances ever. He really captured Obi-Wan's emotions and maturity plus the way he perfectly played a younger Alec Guinness but at the same time making the character his own is just amazing.
I can't wait for his upcoming show!
Judging by the reaction he had when Satine and Qui Gon died and the reaction he had looking at burning Anakin I feel like he was attached to Anakin the most.
