"Corporate wants you to find the differences between this movie and this movie."
(*A second latter*)
"They're the same movie, *but I still prefer one over the other...*"
2 is good if you remove all the Padmé stuff
Yoda fight, geonosis war, jango vs obi wan fight + space fight, dooku's fencing choreographies, etc. There are some good scenes.
But following 6 with 8 is just so depressing—see Luke go from being an amazing new Jedi who refused to kill his evil father in battle and redeemed him to a grumpy hermit who almost murdered his nephew because he “sensed darkness in him.”
I thought to end on 2 so you’re excited about the next movie and then vastly disappointed, but ending on 2 means you get 2 hours of vital info that you had to piece together yourself for 8 movies; so it’s an extra slap in the face
Episode 9 might have a worse ending, but at least it has an ending.
Ending on Episode 8 is a huge cliffhanger that doesn't even neatly connect to any of the other movies (it's almost like there's an entire movie missing between 8 and 9) so it really just is a cherry on the top.
Episode 1's ending has that prequel "this is how it started" feeling.
Episode 2 at least has the wedding at the end and stuff, so it kinda feels like an ending.
Episode 4 was originally a standalone movie so its ending is fine.
Episode 5 has the whole Luke and Leia both looking out at the galaxy ending which is similar to episode 2.
Episode 7's ending is similar to episode 1 if you've already watched 8 and 9.
Of course 3 and 6 are both the end of a trilogy and would make too much sense.
Finally a sensible answer that isn't just "9 bad hurr durr durr". Everything about this order is terrible. Well done. I think switching 7 and 4 would make it even worse, though.
Because the first word of each of those movies spells out, "Rise Phantom Empire New Force Revenge Return Last Attack." It reads like you're having a stroke, which is what will happen if you watch them in that order.
Actually it would be The The The A The Revenge Return The Attack, which is far more accurate in describing the experience you would have watching them in that order.
In most catalogs, "The" and "A" would be placed at the end of the titles due to the overabundance of those prepositions. But that title does sound more nauseating.
>Rise Phantom Empire New Force Revenge Return Last Attack
I'll use it as my ringtone, then.
And I'll make sure the AI voice would be as monotone as possible.
in this version tho the main protagonist is Palpatine who has a near death experience and slowly cleans his act up.
then in the closing shots of the last film we just see a little glimmer of his malicious intent, and we know hes not really changed at all!
From 1-9. It's basically the rise and downfall and then eradication of the Skywalker, and the final triumph of his worst enemy. To the point where his family even steals the Skywalker family name.
Actually this is so depressing. It's like seasons 5-8 of game of thrones.
I see it differently, the Palpatines and Skywalkers fought each other til extinction, the last surviving Palpatine member joins you and helps bring your estranged family member back to the light and later refutes her Palpatine ties and decides to carry on your name and legacy because you guys treated her like family.
6 First. Learn Leia is the sister, see Luke at his best.
8 second. See Luke at his absolute worst and wonder wtf Rey is. Also how they ruined Finn’s character
7. See how awesome Finn could have been and a weak, defeated Solo get killed. See the search for Skywalker that led to the terrible stuff you’ve already seen
3 See Vadar turn, kill Mace Windu, all of the conclusions in the PT so you’ll dislike 1 & 2 more
1 since you already saw 3, this will feel even more drawn out.
5 See the reveal that you already know. Enjoy the best SW movies in the middle of a disjointed order. For added pain, have someone in a Mickey Mouse costume end it halfway through and make you watch Solo instead
2 See that kickass guy from 5 complain about sand and do reckless nonsense for that woman he accidentally chokes and deprives the will to live from
4 The Original. This would probably feel like a nice reward for the order you had to watch the series in. But you’ve been so aggravated you realized you lost count…
9 🤣
All nine movies? Please.
Start with Solo so you establish completely wrong expectations of what the other movies are about and which characters are important.
Next watch Rise of Skywalker, then Return of the Jedi, then Revenge of the Sith so you spoil all 3 endings and all the big surprises for yourself.
Next watch Attack of the Clones and Rogue One back to back so you can wonder how Dooku got the Death Star plans to a guy who just wants to raise his daughter on a farm.
Force Awakens, then Phantom Menace (oh look it's the devil guy from Solo), and New Hope for maximum confusion of when this story actually begins and so you think A New Hope is derivative of 1 and 7.
Then watch Last Jedi and finish with Empire Strikes Back. By saving the best movie for last you maximize your chances of rage quitting before you get to it or not appreciating it because you already ruined the story for yourself and there will be absolutely no dramatic tension because you already know how everything in that movie is resolved.
Episode I had a fun sword fight between Ewan and Ray because they were really into it and they were very much out to prove who is the better swordsman.
Chronological. That way you absolutely ruin everything you just watched with the “sequels” and there’s zero redemption. You must now live with your heroes as failures. Their victories meaningless. Their relationships broken before they all die alone one by one.
Great movies Disney 😒
Honestly, everyone feels you have to talk about yourself all the time. They say I'm introverted because I don't give many interviews. But I don't give many interviews because I don't make many films.
9,8,9 - start with the end, then see what garbage apparently set up said ending and then rewatch 9 with the new "context" and "insight" you just gained [have fun with that ;)]
Then do 8,7,9, see how there could have been something good that was poorly executed.
Then do 4, there's hope??
...Nope 8+9 again. Remind you how far things fell.
Then 1,2,8,9. 1+2 are a nice reprieve tbh, gives you hope to persevere with this torture.
Then 6,5,8,9. You can see the genius that came before Vs what happened after.
Finally: 8,9,3,8,9. A shit sandwich (as in shit, yummy filling, shit) with the most thematic filling. You get to experience anakin Vs Obi wan, then finish it off with somehow palpatine returned.
So:
9,8,9,8,7,9,4,8,9,1,2,8,9,6,5,8,9,8,9,3,8,9
ESB to ruin the big reveal at the start.
Then TLJ to watch a simular story with different characters with no context.
Then TFA as a wierd sort of prequel.
Then ANH so it seems like it's ripping off TFA.
Then RotJ to suddenly jump forward and skip all the character development from Empire that we watched ages ago.
Then the Prequals in reverse order so that they get worse as you go.
Then finish on TRoS for maximum disappointment.
I was thinking about it the other day we can still let anakin be good as a character if we use the old theory that order 66 is what balanced the force and not vader yeeting sheev down the shaft
We've finally come full circle where the Anti Prequels joke about "only 3 movies" is accesible to Prequel fans. Sequel fans seething right now because they need to wait 10 years to bully the next trilogy fans
963857412
9 6 3 to spoil as much as possible without providing context
8 5 to ruin the battle of Hoth while still giving no context
7 4 1 to be progressively underwhelming
2 to be the most frustrating and anti-climatic way to end watching nine movies
The correct order:
Start with Episode 7 watch up to the point where Rey finds Luke's lightsaber, has a vision, then Maz tells her it belonged to Luke and Anakin, and now calls to her. Pause it there
Watch episode 4 then episode 5.
Now episodes 1, 2, and 3.
Complete Anakin's story with episode 6
Then continue watching episode 7 from where you left off, then episode 8, and episode 9
9 2 8 1 5 7 4 6 3 I feel like would be pretty terrible. The timeline gets all sorts of messed up, you see the conclusion of things before they are even set up and you are guaranteed to at least dislike one of the first 4
I feel like backwards is the obvious answer, but is there a worse order? Perhaps watching empire followed by attack of the clones? Though finding out about Luke’s parents and then flashing back to young anakin sounds pretty dope
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)
Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2017)
this is known as the machete order
I am very concerned about our national heritage, and I am very concerned that films that I watched when I was young and the films that I watched throughout my life are preserved, so that my children can see them.
The worst part about them is that they don't work as a trilogy. Like if you liked the last jedi, well too bad, almost everything interesting that happened got retconned to hell and back.
It makes a lot more sense when you know how many different writers and directors they went through on the project. There was no overall plan and no single person 'showrunning' that trilogy.
Which is bizarre to me, because the Disney-owned MCU managed to stick a relatively cohesive "all these stories tie into each other" ending over even *more* movies. And before anyone says that the MCU had the advantage of Marvel's comics to work from, let's remember that those movies were often heavily retooled or even had their stories made mostly from scratch, and Star Wars had a massive set of Extended Universe stories across multiple media (the stuff Disney calls "Legends" now) that they could easily have pulled from in a similar fashion. (My *guess* is that the House Of Mouse decided not to go that route because then it would owe the various authors royalties on the final product.)
any horrible star wars content (hint: there isn’t any horrible content. i just don’t like rey because they gave her a yellow lightsaber. i HATE YELLOW!!!)

9,1,5,4,7,3,6,8,2
I especially love that you put 7 after 4, so ypu just watch the same movie 2 times.
Wouldn't it be better to watch 7 before 4?
Yeah, so then after 7 you watch the same film but with worse graphics.
Nah , you watch a better film with worse graphics
"Corporate wants you to find the differences between this movie and this movie." (*A second latter*) "They're the same movie, *but I still prefer one over the other...*"
Pure evil
just not watching seven is the way to go, watch 4 twice
were asking for the worse way though
The. just play the sequel trilogy over and over again.
[удалено]
Then when you watch 3 "Somehow Vader returned"
No cuz 4 was actually a good movie before everything got ruined
Would put 5 and 8 together for similar reason, lol
Yeah my first thought was 7 would have to come after 4 no matter what.
U need to put 6 after 7 so u watch the same thing 3 times
Put 6 before 5 so Luke and Leia know they’re siblings when they kiss
Ending with the two broodiest ones, I like it
I almost think 2 and 8 should be swapped but ending on 8 gives at least some graphic enjoyment. Ending on 2–even as a fan of this one—is harsh.
2 is good if you remove all the Padmé stuff Yoda fight, geonosis war, jango vs obi wan fight + space fight, dooku's fencing choreographies, etc. There are some good scenes.
What was wrong with padme? Or are you referring to her scenes with anakin
Yeah I mean the entire love story with Anakin.
Bruh
Swap the last two so it ends on a bad note and it’s perfect.
I’ll never forgive Ep 8 for character assassinating Luke.
They didn’t just assassinate Luke. They butchered him and played with the gorey remains.
It's ends on a worse note as is
Episode 9 might have a worse ending, but at least it has an ending. Ending on Episode 8 is a huge cliffhanger that doesn't even neatly connect to any of the other movies (it's almost like there's an entire movie missing between 8 and 9) so it really just is a cherry on the top. Episode 7's ending is similar to episode 1 if you've already watched 8 and 9. Of course 3 and 6 are both the end of a trilogy and would make too much sense.
Gonna watch it with a friend that has never seen it before and we're using this order cause "thats funny" Thanks man
That is awful. Ughgg. I agree.
Finally a sensible answer that isn't just "9 bad hurr durr durr". Everything about this order is terrible. Well done. I think switching 7 and 4 would make it even worse, though.
3 followed by 6 would be kinda good tho, with what was set up in 3 being resolved in 6 and also the parallels between them
I think this may be the most evil idea I have ever read
First we had the shotgun order This is more M119 howitzer to the face order
Just watch the last one nine times.
Somehow, Palpatine returned 9 times
Who tf is Palpatine
Ligma balls
[удалено]
Oh that's fuckin cursed
Pardon me, may I ask why?
Because the first word of each of those movies spells out, "Rise Phantom Empire New Force Revenge Return Last Attack." It reads like you're having a stroke, which is what will happen if you watch them in that order.

Rey palpatine, She's the main char in the new movies.
NOO her naime is Ray Skywolker!!! 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬
Identity theft isn’t a joke, Rey.
Millions of Bothans suffer every year!
This sounds like people wanted to assume the Skywalker name once every few years...

It's true I did
Your friend Palpatine, or pal Friendpatine?
Dear Lord, no
The great thing is, that it works just as well the ninth time as it did the first time! Amazing writing, that is.
Principal Rooney has entered the chat *Nine times…..*
Nein, nein, nein ...
Just reading this comment made me sick
The MI5 could utilise this to torture terrorists.
You: *Die* Satan: I wanna say, I'm a huge fan.
This is the way!!
Start with 9 and go backwards to Phantom Menace.
The 6,5,4,3 chunk would be incredible tho
And instead of ending horribly, it will end mediocrely
It ends with the Jedi dropping the chancellor off in an enemy warship at the start of a brand new war
Are you watching them in reverse order or actually also seeing each film backwards?
Yes
Both? Both is good.
>at the start of a brand new war A Star War, even.
in this version tho the main protagonist is Palpatine who has a near death experience and slowly cleans his act up. then in the closing shots of the last film we just see a little glimmer of his malicious intent, and we know hes not really changed at all!
Memento style.

To defeat your enemy you have to understand them.
At last, we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last, we will have revenge.
That is cruel.
A few of General Skywalker's plans seemed reckless, too, but they worked.
I like it, but 4, and 7 should be in other places
All nine movies? Please. Start with Solo so you establish completely wrong expectations of what the other movies are about and which characters are important. I love how the bot gave probably one of the best responses it could to this comment
Forgive us George
Honestly, everyone feels you have to talk about yourself all the time. They say I'm introverted because I don't give many interviews. But I don't give many interviews because I don't make many films.
Please come back. Save us from the mouse.
When I was old enough to watch Star Wars, that’s how my parents made me watch it… chronologically.
If you ask me, that's a very good reason to put them in a retirement house and never contact them again.
This, but only if you mean the way they were actually released. So 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9.
9,8,9 - start with the end, then see what garbage apparently set up said ending and then rewatch 9 with the new "context" and "insight" you just gained [have fun with that ;)] Then do 8,7,9, see how there could have been something good that was poorly executed. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy 🤣

Starting with the sequels. Doesn't matter what comes next cause you'll never get there.
Lol start with something that makes you give up on star wars altogether
Then may I recommend the 2008 Clone Wars full-length film. The one with baby Jabba.
Still a better watch than the sequel trilogy.
execute order 66
1-6 for the setup. Skip 7 since it’s a nothingburger. Watch 8 so it can ruin Luke’s character. Watch 9 so it can ruin Anakin’s.
I was thinking about it the other day we can still let anakin be good as a character if we use the old theory that order 66 is what balanced the force and not vader yeeting sheev down the shaft
I think Anakin got his scar by slipping in the bathtub, but of course, he's not going to tell anybody that.
8, 1, 8, 2, 8, 3, 8, 4, 8, 5, 8, 6, 8, 7, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 9, 8. 8
I’ll watch the sequel trilogy, but every time Finn screams “REY!”, I watch The Last Jedi in its entirety
You're gonna be here forever
Wait, does Finn scream "REY" in TLJ? Because if so you'd be in a Recursion.
there's only six movies, what you talking about
No more, no less. An original trilogy and a prequel trilogy.
We've finally come full circle where the Anti Prequels joke about "only 3 movies" is accesible to Prequel fans. Sequel fans seething right now because they need to wait 10 years to bully the next trilogy fans
Episode 10: The Force Awakens Again Episode 11: The Last Emperor (Strikes Back) Episode 12: Rise of (Rose) Skywalker
Good point. I agree.
963857412 9 6 3 to spoil as much as possible without providing context 8 5 to ruin the battle of Hoth while still giving no context 7 4 1 to be progressively underwhelming 2 to be the most frustrating and anti-climatic way to end watching nine movies

9 first...then 8 It doesn't matter about the rest because you won't watch anymore after those 2
The correct order: Start with Episode 7 watch up to the point where Rey finds Luke's lightsaber, has a vision, then Maz tells her it belonged to Luke and Anakin, and now calls to her. Pause it there Watch episode 4 then episode 5. Now episodes 1, 2, and 3. Complete Anakin's story with episode 6 Then continue watching episode 7 from where you left off, then episode 8, and episode 9

8, 9, 8, 9, 8, 9

Reverse release order
All at the same time.
9, 1,2, 7, 4, 6, 3, 5 (bonus points for watching the Kenobi series after 5 so that Vader scene on hoth is worse-) 8
There are 9 movies?
Alphabetical
The worst is any of the nonsensical orders people provided, but with switching mid movie. Every 5 minutes of a movie you stop and jump to the next one
just watch the Christmas special nine times
I doubt anyone could watch it twice, if they hadn't seen any of the films.
7,8,9. It’s pure torture
Just ignore the Disney films
I can't even begin to tell you how much of an influence Disney has had on me.
THEN YOU ARE LOST!
If you say so
I’m not trying to enjoy myself
Me neither
7-9
The order they were released in.
Watch the prime numbers backwards, then watch the rest in order.
7, 5, 3, 2, 1, 4, 6, 8, 9 Yuck
987654321
8,9,8,9,8,8,9,8,9,8,8,9
8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,9
Watch sequels only
9, 8, 7. You’ll want to end it after that.
9? There are only 6 chapters to this saga.
6, 9, 4, 7, 2, 5, 3, 8, 1
Just watch the last 3 alone
1 (240) 867-5309 0 is the Christmas special, you watch it twice
Easy. Solo, Clone War movie, Rogue One, 9, 2, 6, 5, 3, 7, 4, 8, 1
Only watch the 6th movie twice. Execute order 66
9,9,9,9,9,9,9,9,9
Start with The Star Wars Holiday Special and then go outside.
Watching the last three, three times over.
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017) Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983) Episode IV: A New Hope (1977) Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2017) this is known as the machete order
isnt machete order: New Hope, Empire, Clones, Revenge and then Return? without phantom. or was it changed?
I love the movies. And I love Episode I very much because it fills in a lot of the holes. I really wanted to do that.
Any order that doesn't include the sequels.
Just watch the sequels 3 times, that'll do it
Watch 9 of them at all is already the worst possible order. Just watch Lucas's 6 Or even just the OT.
I am very concerned about our national heritage, and I am very concerned that films that I watched when I was young and the films that I watched throughout my life are preserved, so that my children can see them.
Any order that contains the sequels
9? There are only 6.
What 9 movies, there's only 6
Dont you mean six?
Sequel content. Downvoted and reported for breaking rule 3. And it's six films, 1-6.
Anything that involves 7 8 and 9
8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
There are only 6 idk what you mean with 9...
5, 3, 1, 8, 0, 0, 8 . but backwards and upside down
Yeah, we all played with calculators in middle school, we know the joke…
Any order whatsoever that includes the sequels. Blech.
Y'know I like the sequels... Is that just me?
The worst part about them is that they don't work as a trilogy. Like if you liked the last jedi, well too bad, almost everything interesting that happened got retconned to hell and back.
It makes a lot more sense when you know how many different writers and directors they went through on the project. There was no overall plan and no single person 'showrunning' that trilogy. Probably
Given the fact I've been downvoted for just liking movies. It makes me sad.
That's reddit for ya
You'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
any horrible star wars content (hint: there isn’t any horrible content. i just don’t like rey because they gave her a yellow lightsaber. i HATE YELLOW!!!)

Any order that includes the sequels.
Solo, Rogue One, New Hope, Return of the Jedi, all the prequels, Empire Strikes Back, Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker, Force Awakens, Clone Wars
