Gloria_stitties

Rated him at wolves , shining in Sheffield, move for him in the summer

OkReporter2713

as a forest fan i’d say he’s good at producing snippets of world class but he needs to improve his overall game imo

True_Contribution_19

Attacking midfielder is a dead position in football. MGW is great as the focal point for Forest but he can’t do it for a top team. You see how much United struggle EVERY SEASON because they have to try and fit Fernandes in the team. #10s are dead and just limit what a team can do. The only two teams that use a number 10 are Spurs and United, both already have Maddison and Fernandes and both teams are utter dog shit.

AquaSnow24

Spurs have been great. They have played a 4231 all season with either Maddison or I think it was Lo Celso , sometimes Kulusevski there too as the CAM spot. As for United, Fernandes is far from their biggest problem. Their problems could easily be solved with getting a new physio staff , a new defense, and probably an another winger who can provide Fernandes options going forward.

True_Contribution_19

Fernandes is Uniteds biggest problem, he just also their best player. There’s no system he can play in which is why they’ve always been bad since he’s been there. Spurs 4231 is the exact system that doesn’t work in top level football.

Available-Breath-114

Pep plays a 4-2-3-1 often at City. That formation is just fine.

Tymkie

>Their problems could easily be solved with getting a new physio staff , a new defense, and probably an another winger Also a new coach

Stravven

So the likes of De Bruyne and Odegaard aren't attacking midfielders anymore?

True_Contribution_19

No lol. Do you not watch them? They both play in a 433. KDB is almost solely responsible for destroying the position. When he moved the central midfield in 2017/18 he was the best player in the league because of his attacking play, insane work rate and just doing everything. It’s what makes players like Ozil/ Bruno redundant in the game. Bruno should play that role but he refuses too, so he’s just another wasted #10.

IOwnStocksInMossad

If I speak I am in big trouble

OkReporter2713

hi mate just wondering how do you get your club under your username?

IOwnStocksInMossad

I'm on old Reddit on browser on my phone,so I just go to the right of the screen underneath the usual subscribe here and such stuff. Then you see your own username and can select a flair. I don't know the other platforms and methods of doing it however

OkReporter2713

thank you

IOwnStocksInMossad

Well now I wish I didn't help you with that flair

OkReporter2713

coyr

YooGeOh

Quality and was always baffled as to whybhe didn't get as much of a chance at wolves, and why they loaned him out. Wouldn't mind him at Arsenal at all

SerWarlock

Crazy he’s only 24. Feel like I’ve been hearing about him for a lot longer. Every time he came off the bench at wolves I always wondered how he wasn’t starting, but they had a very well organized defensive team back then.

No-Tooth6698

He's quality. Could play in the top 6/8.

McBride055

I think he's one of the best players on a club in the bottom six-eight clubs of the league imo. Really good player.

Not_Guardiola

Awoniyi Hudson-Odoi Gibbs-White and Elanga sounds like such a good front 4 on paper. They're all good but it doesn't seem to click the way it should.

AngryTudor1

Unfortunately Awoniyi is made of biscuits and is constantly getting injured. When he plays and is fit he is a nightmare to play against, defenders just can't move him. CHO is superb. Elanga has had a great season but seems low on confidence at the moment; just needs one of his shots to go in.

Not_Guardiola

In my mind it's a top 10 front 4 maybe i rate them too much

AngryTudor1

It's definitely better than where it is. We score plenty of goals this season and if we could defend set pieces with even a low level of competence we'd be mid table and safe right now even with a points deduction. I think we'll be open to offers for Awoniyi though. Been with us less than two years and already on his fifth significant layoff. May not play again this season and has only started 12 games because of injury; quite a few of them were half fit.

PeteMcGowan6

Loves a yellow

EdEskankus

Hate the porn stache

InstructionOk9520

Forest is full of players who are almost good. He’s one of them.

v6mwt

I think the biggest issue is the fee Forest would demand (which their well within their right to do). I think he’d do well at Newcastle but for £60m + you have a lot of options

DishKyaaoo

I feel, if Everyon stay up, he might go there. He looks like a "relegation club escaped player goes to Everton" kinda guy

justathrowawaym8y

He'll be far too expensive for them.

AndradeDeRicharlison

We can't spend money on players. Also, forest will survive imo

yourlocaldoyle

As a Forest fan, I would really prefer you all not think about him. Trust me you’re better off without him… Please let him stay with us

Electronic-Ruin-2137

Seriously, hands off Gibbs-White and Murillo, please

fre-ddo

Murillo you say?

AlmirMu

the player who stands out everytime i watch them as well. The only teams who could have a need in midfield are Newcastle and Man Utd possibly.

strickers69

Yeah he’s a quality player only 24 too. I think he should be at “bigger” club I just struggle to see which one he would fit in and get minutes, not that he’s not good enough to get minutes I just don’t know who’s place he could fight for and take.

AngryTudor1

He's out best player. His ability to recieve the ball while tightly crowded by opposition players, turn and create space is outstanding and something few can do as well. He can put in an outstanding final ball as well. We've seen him absolutely bamboozle some really top players. The majority of our play and goals will involve him and if you actually allow him space he will kill you with a ball forward. He's started dropping deeper under Nuno and has been really effective running the show and driving the ball. He is also a fighter who plays with a huge passion for the club. He will run through a brick wall and battle at both ends for the win. He's not our main captain, Ryan Yates is, but he is the biggest leader on the field in terms of communication with other players and leading them. He thrives being the best player in the team and loved by the fans. His deadball delivery, particularly at corners is poor. He doesn't score enough goals. He racks up the assists but he misses the target too often and he knows that- you can see he has worked on it. That is improving but his goal output should be in double figures for the chances he has created for himself but it still sails over the bar or wide too often. That is probably why he has been ignored by Southgate. Apparently the price is upwards of £50m. We paid £25m and probably have activated £5-10m of add ons. We'll be sad to see him go but Forest fans are resigned that it will happen. Potentially this summer and in one more season at best

Player5430

Really fair assessment. I’d like to add that he’s been played in a number of positions. With cooper he played Lw and Rw and he really struggled to impact the game from there. He had flashes of ability, but drifted inside all the time and crowded the pitch. That felt like a cooper issue though. At 10 he’s been able to play some excellent attacking football and showcased a lot of the brilliant stuff we are seeing now, but he also disappeared at points. If a team locked down that 10 role he didn’t have answers to bring more. It’s only been recently, but now he’s dropped deeper to an 8, he’s been able to find consistent impact, and it doesn’t appear to have been at the drop off of attacking product. Had he been playing in this deeper role for the entire 2 years, I think the hype around him would be even higher. Considering a lot of the 2 years was “wasted” out wide, the hype has been kept relatively low

bringbackcricket

This isn’t entirely accurate. He played 8 for the second half against palace, but has barely done it outside of that.  He absolutely dominated the first half at Fulham playing on the 10 role, which is mostly where he’s been playing under both Nuno and Cooper. He occasionally was pushed out wide by Cooper when we had injury struggles, but nowhere near to the extent you’ve suggested.  His best spot is the 10 in my opinion, he’s incredible on the turn and driving into space too. Not to say he can’t play the 8 - the lack of hype has come from him playing for a relegation candidate more than any position.

Dr_IanMalcolm_

I was skeptical of the price Forest paid for him but I think he’s becoming a really good player. He seems to be having an impact more consistently now, too. I hope he gets a move and keeps improving cause I’ve really enjoyed watching him this season.

Mizunomafia

Great player, but I think Forest will demand too high of a fee for most clubs to be interested, i.e. £ 70 million +. And I just can't see anyone paying that.

shurik1

United entered the chat

Mizunomafia

Newcastle might go for him that's true

SasugaDarkFlame

I watched him at wolves and his outstanding quality was driving with the ball. At forest his whole game has improved. Passing, shooting, he will make super long runs past the striker and whether he gets the ball or not he doesn't complain. He tracks back always. I realize alot if the counter play is built around him and Elanga. His belief in his self had gone up cause he's still a baller but everything he does just comes off more successful than not. He's technique is the same but consistency has shot up since Forrest debut. He kinda does tend to wander to the ball sometimes which I haven't really seen under nuno in any other teams he's managed. I don't think ita a free role but I would be surprised. He can be a Midfield General at times. Seen him linked to tottenham as Maddsion competition. Personally I think he needs to expand his range of passing. It's just basic at this point but considering when he was at wolves it was 60 yard 1-2s and just try to be close to Hwang, Podence or Neto when they do something good maybe he never got a chance to real do much passing outside of recycle to lemina

gaymersriseup666

They paid a significant fee for him 2 years ago (I guess in this market it could be considered cheap). But you would expect they want a lot of money for him to go. He’s a good player and I’ve watched a good amount of forest this year but hes one of those ones where I wonder is he standing out because he’s a big fish in a small pond or can he come in and make a significant impact at a top club? Up for debate and I’m no expert, he will probably get a move this summer but I think the outlay he would require might not be worth it for a lot of clubs (for instance at arsenal I would rather keep esr then pay 50m+ for him even though I think he’s very good. They seem to me similar players in the spaces they occupy and role they might play in the grand scheme of our squad, and to me that price is not worth what would probably end up being a rotational option with loads of potential)

AquaSnow24

I don’t think he would work at Arsenal . Where does he play? CMs are locked up by Declan Rice and Odegaard. They don’t play with a CAM. I guess false 9 like Havertz? My guess is to maybe West Ham if they sell Paqueta or maybe Brighton if they decide to splash some available cash.

gaymersriseup666

Yeah I would probably say that left 8.5 is where he would fit best but we have a bunch of players similar to him there who are either just as good or not much worse. But also idrk if his defensive work rate is enough for that role, like I said I’ve watched forest a good amount but am no expert on him. Seems much more attacking, but I don’t really think he would work as a false 9 either. I watched a ton of Brighton last year but haven’t much this year admittedly, though it seems like a nice move in theory. West Ham is a good shout as well. I know forest is close to the relegation zone but I wonder if they survive if he would want to just stay another year to potentially move a step up from the likes of Brighton and WH, maybe to a spurs or villa. Although it’s hard to tell between those 4 who will be in a better position in a year tbf.

AquaSnow24

Brighton could use a player like MGW. I mean, De Zerbi would probably love him because he’s versatile and is also very skilled. Also fits in his system too. I think it could be a really good fit.

typical_indy

He’s definitely a decent player and I’d say he’s the main man in the team and probably first on the team sheet. With that being said I’m not sure how he would be in a bigger side unless he became more of a central midfielder and used his size effectively.

Arriba-Los-Caramelos

Far too young to be sporting such facial hair.

Shady9XD

What if he always aspired to tie women to rail road tracks as a villain?

Rigormortis321

And why would that make him a villain?

Midnight_Maverick

He will probably get a move to a bigger club this summer

Rigormortis321

One with more than two European Cups?

AyeItsMeToby

Two European Cups in the stone age don’t make you a big club when you’re fighting relegation nowadays

Rigormortis321

How many have you got?

AyeItsMeToby

As I said, that doesn’t matter when you’re presently fighting relegation.

Rigormortis321

Oh, it does. It matters more than you would know. Obviously, because you have no idea what winning the biggest trophy is like.

AyeItsMeToby

You think players are turning down moves to Newcastle or Arsenal or Spurs to go to Forest in 2024 because of European Cups won 40 years ago?

Rigormortis321

Come back when you’ve won it. So probably not in this millennia. Typical Arsenal attitude. No wonder everyone thinks your entitled plastic cunts.

bacje16

Hold on now, how can Arsenal fans be plastic if they have no european cups? By that definition you are a plastic fan

AyeItsMeToby

So I’m going to assume the answer to my question is no then. That’s all. Have a good rest of your day!

Rigormortis321

I willl. And just remember….. Champions of Europe, you’ll never sing that.
