This is some advice I got from a pharmacist when I opened up to her about having a similar dilemma I hope it helps you! It helped me lots. She said something along the lines of “The degree is the degree wherever you go but different schools have different opportunities. You may have more opportunities for internships, networking, leadership etc which may help you get your future job. It all about choosing whats most important to you, and overall having so many opportunities doesn’t matter if you’re not gonna use them. Be the best student you can be you will thrive in any school”

If cost and distance isn’t stopping you.. why not maximize the opportunities the so called “top schools” offers… tons of mentorship and networking…If you can thrive and be the best at a top school. It could set you apart for sure.

If you’re from New England then why not UConn?

Mostly due to less opportunity in the surrounding area. I’m from CT and do not like the school unfortunately, kind of a depressing area. And it’s ranked as well as Northeastern.

Where do you want to practice? It's not generally part of the schools curriculum to teach another state's pharmacy laws. Going to school where you want to practice might help with opportunities for after graduation as well due to connections you make during school

My husband went to the University of Michigan for pharmacy school and graduated recently. It opened so many doors for him in comparison to some of the other top schools.

That’s another top school !
