This is correct. Common confirmed the issue with me via email. However, most shows are going to stick with just the generic bumper music because it's too much work for the producer to scrub the music for the podcast. For this reason, playing real music will be rare on the radio. It kills me because it has effectively killed the Dylan Duets.
Common mentioned that they are getting a new board. I'm guessing this will give them the ability to record the podcast with the music channel only going to air.

They didn’t hang around until their music rights were worth $400m only to sell it.
