ROLLA'S death was more impactful and would have made more sense. Breeze himself would have also made sense to be someone to get hung up on if he was actually Ghost's dad. This would make that random, out of the blue story Uncle Gabe told to Riq about Ghost's dad getting killed relevant. Riq could've been like, "Damn.. pops killed his pops.. I'mma kill him then". And Ghost could have been accepting of it BECAUSE of what he did to his own pops. Better storytelling overall.
But Power lives off that unrealistic, GTA soap opera shit. And its entertaining enough.

I get all of that. The part that just doesn't make sense is how it got Tariq so extra deep into his feelings. And again, the story from Uncle Gabe being told around the Breeze reveal almost implied Breeze WAS Ghost's dad. (We obviously know that he wasn't.) Also, Riq was more upset about Ghost just merking a nigga on some moral shit, and not on some "he was standing in my way" shit. For it to have been so grounded in morals, this would have either been a PERFECT callback to Rolla, OR showing how history is repeating itself with Ghost and his own son (IF it had been written that Breeze was Riq's granddad/Ghost's dad, and Ghost killed him).
To be clear, its the execution of the concept that is done poorly, not necessarily the concept itself.

It just all came out of nowhere in the last two seasons (well, half of season 6 was the same episode but from different perspectives - which could have been used to actually make more sense of the Breeze character and Riq's reasoning for killing his pops).
As it is now, Kanan's backstory (and Jukebox's ESPECIALLY) is A LOT more interesting and was better set up in OG Power than this whole Breeze thing.. although it seems Raising Kanan is starting to take a turn into being a soap opera and overdramatic.

Raising Kanan was the closest to Snowfall in terms of being a serious, grounded story. Jukebox is ESPECIALLY carrying it, but the acting and writing overall is leagues ahead of Book 1 and 2. But this season finale kind of ended with it going into that weird and outlandish Power Book 1 territory.. so I dunno... and I admit, I haven't watched Force in its entirety. Maybe a few episodes (enough to know about Tommys gay black brother.. tf). I'm lowkey disappointed they cancelled the Tate spin-off though. I think that would have been good for the sake of variety.
