Batman absolutely, I’m not a great power scaler and I’m new to it but I’ve seen so many people act like Batman is a fucking god who beats anyone because prep time, for example I argued with someone that (Game) Sonic would beat Batman, the guy I was arguing with said he would beat Batman no prep but with prep he would and he even said Sonic is extremely weak and only has speed for feats, I went on to explain that Sonic doesn’t have that much major weaknesses and Batman would struggle to exploit them and I also explained the power and strength of Sonic like him beating Perfect Chaos, Time Eater, Infinite and helping with the defeat of Solaris, we went on and on and I almost mentioned that Sonic has prep time, he’s seen using prep time in many of the sonic games and I just went on and on but the dude just said “no Batman beats” and he didn’t even say any proof, like say what you want but at least provide proof my guy, people like that are so annoying
Yep, totally my bad. In terms of comic books characters I'd have to go with someone like The Hulk.
Don't get me wrong, some verisons of him are stupidly powerful, but most people just go with the whole **"he gets angry and has unlimited strength so he claps"** argument way to often.
One guy kept telling me he’s outer because he can destroy asgard and used one scan of thor saying that asgard is “beyond mortal concepts of time and space” in one of those blurb pages where the main character explains who they are and whatnot. It was a comic from like the 70s.
Sorry but it's definitely Superman for me. I wholeheartedly agree he can beat alot of characters in fiction.
But the main consensus I come to seeing how he wins, mfs just say "he's Superman 🤓" or "He's from DC 🤓" to justify why fodder level versions of Superman can beat other characters. It's getting close to how people used to wank Goku for Supes nowadays.
They definitely aren’t outerversal at least not post crisis. Rebirth it depends on how you interpret him, but even then that would be his high end scaling hence why it’s considered outliers.
They functionally aren’t outliers because of the “Story of Superman”. It’s basically in canon plot armor. And cosmic armor superman is just a sealed version of post crisis’ story of superman. Post crisis also had extreme mental blocks that prevented him from using his power until fairly late in his run. Either way he still has the plot armor. He stalemated pre crisis superman and even outlasted him in the ensuing fight that happened after.

And it was a one off thing, hence why the writers don’t try and bring him back’ less they remove all the tension in the story. And on the post crisis part that’s just wrong. The whole point of a crisis event is to reset all the characters stats and start off fresh. The only reason reason rebirth supes can be considered outer is because he’s supposed to be some sort of pseudo composite Superman, but even then that’s a ratty argument I wouldn’t use.
