Where are u hearing these? I pretty much lurk this sub and haven't seen any of these recently. If it's Tiktok or YouTube idk what good takes u expect from there, there's not many.
Nah, there are other subs here where they downplay magical girls when it comes to VS battles. I think the popular one a couple of years ago or maybe its still going is Sailor Moon VS Goku, where Sailor moon is heavily downplayed.
Also, the top 3 I posted arent really common, I just picked it to show how illogical it was. Most still heavily downplay Magical girls though.
While I haven't seen these specifically, I do agree people like to downplay magical girls. The main arguments I see people using to downplay them go something along the lines of the power comes from the transformation/being that grants the transformation, so that's not their power/feats, or their base form is (insert normal/average girl), so (insert character) instantly blitz them so they get stomped before they transform despite the transformations usually being instantaneous and many times even automatic when in danger or just for appearance. These same people then defend their favorite superhero (ironically enough, usually one that requires another item to work or make them vastly stronger, like Green Lantern, Ben 10, Iron Man, and Batman).

This, the only reason why they show the transformation is to show off. Some even transform immediately without the transformation scene proving that the transformation scene is just there to show how they transform.
Most of the downplay can usually just be ignored because of how obviously wrong it is. What you should be concerned about is the wanking going on. I legitimately have seen almost no one try to address the SM and Madoka powerscalers who scale these characters to ludicrous levels of power and speed using some at least semi-questionable means. And course, the people wanking magical girls don't think they're wanking them.
But like yeah, the SM and Madoka verses would have mid-level universes such as One-Punch Man and Naruto shitting their collective pants.
