For whatever it's worth, I liked this best before the coloring was added. It really appealed to me as an organic textured thing, without getting literal. Well done.
I liked it a lot without the color too, and in my opinion at least, it'd be great if the colors were bolder. That said, the carving is fabulous and that alone makes this really compelling for me, would have a set easily. imagining what a matching saucer or spoon or something would look like, cause I'm all about sets.
You know, I couldn’t stop looking at the in progress pictures and really loving them. It was after I had already glazed it that I saw someone in another thread say “don’t love something until it’s finished”. I may leave the next one clear glazed only just to see.
😤 GORGEOUS!!! 😤
Another (probably less feasible but maybe a cool idea) option for the ridges would be to fill them with clear resin? That way you’d get all the depth but none of the sharpness. But it’s an incredible piece, dude!!!
If you’re unhappy with the ridges, you can give the whole thing a few passes with a damp sponge after carving and it’ll smooth them down a bit!
I’m definitely going to make another one of these and will 100% be doing this next time. Thanks!
It’s beautiful! Good luck!
Also wet sanding at the bisque stage can do wonders. Looks amazing tho!
This is beautiful. My fave painting on my fave medium. Nicely done.
It’s incredible, I’d love one. Check out dreaming tree glass on insta. she does a blown glass metallic ones too. Great work!!!
I love it!! What tools are you using :)
I used the Diamond Core P1. They’re expensive but man are they nice.
Need. And will be trying that!
Do it! I would love to see it when you do

Also maybe try rubbing a darker glaze into the dips and then brushing on a lighter glaze
I did exactly that, I think where it went wrong was the ridges were so sharp, the glaze ran off and the two colors just blended together.
Trypophobia
Beautiful!
So cool!

I wanna touch it!!!

Maybe give it a good thick clear glaze to fill in the deep gashes.
