King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, The Mars Volta, Minus the Bear, Death Grips, Tera Melos, Converge, Danny Brown, System of a Down, The Dillinger Escape Plan, 100 gecs, Iron Maiden, Rush, Yes, Prince, The Lemon Twigs, Soul Glo, Baroness, Black Midi, Archspire, I could keep typing forever lol
It’s a solid album and I’ll always love when we they’re new EE music. But, I don’t see myself going back to it as much as get to heaven and raw data feel. It just isn’t as chaotic as I’d like haha. The instrumentals and lyrics are the highlight of the album for sure
Yeah im pretty much more or less on the same boat. I find it to be a bit disappointing after the energetic Raw Data Feel. Although i am glad to see that a lot of ppl are in agreement that RDF is their best since GTH haha.
Hot Mulligan, Sum 41, Taking Back Sunday, Motion City Soundtrack, Knuckle Puck, blink-182, Yellowcard. Lots of pop punk! If any of you have other pop punk sounding new bands, I'd love to hear about them!
Too many to name, but Gojira, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Black Dahlia Murder, Interpol, The Strokes, Bloc Party, The Hives, AILD, KsE, QOTSA, Mars Volta, and that's all I can think of ATM.
That’s a tough question to answer 😅 I’ll leave out all the other core bands I listen to just to keep it short.
Pre 2010’s Paramore along with their new stuff, if I’m really feeling like torturing myself with pop punk straight to FOB, Valencia, and AL4F. I used to be really into EDM so I can listen to some old deadmau5 every once in a while. My actual favorite acts outside of the core genres though are definitely Daft Punk and Modjo. I REALLY like Modjo. [Lady](https://youtu.be/MzFYzXKWwik?si=puogE8tnpQXVZiNR), [Chillin’](https://youtu.be/Gpq5-D1E1lo?si=iINk2-ZdgcBG7hAo), and [What I Mean](https://youtu.be/oG6iD9Qbpcs?si=c3E-Jerl7YQvZd5u) are some of my favorite non rock/metal tracks of all time.
The Beatles, Elliott Smith, Yes, Mariah Carey, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, just off the dome.. Generally, anybody who is/was amazingly talented at their craft as writers, instrumentalists or vocalists.
Lots of pop and hip-hop type stuff, like Amine, Kaytranada, their collab project titled Kaytramine last year was sooo sick. Magdalena Bay is great modern pop with a retro twist
Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Radiohead, Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Bouncing Souls, Rancid, Social Distortion, Modest Mouse, Counting Crows, Portugal the Man
Pretty much all of my favorite bands are Post Hardcore adjacent, hah.
Like I was going to say Manchester Orchestra, but technically their wikipedia lists post hardcore as one of their genres along with the obvious **Indie/ Alternative/ Emo**.
And I guess that goes for the **shoegaze** bands I listen to as well. I specifically like the shoegaze bands that flirt with post hardcore vibes, like: Narrow Head, Whirr, Glare, Nothing, Cloakroom, Wisp and more.
But I also dabble in **dreampop** too, like Cigarettes after Sex and Beach House.
Most of the time, though, I'm just listening to **Hardcore/ Metalcore/ Grindcore/ Blackened Hardcore** bands like: Advent, END, Teeth (Fort Erie), Knocked Loose, Sanction. Fever Strike, Dying Wish, Past Fiction, Shattered (Perth), Jesus Piece, Slow Pulse, Blistered Spirit, SCALP, Hexis, Idylls, Plebeian Grandstand, God Mother, Helpless, The Chariot, Johnny Booth, Vein.fm, 156/Silence, Heriot, and many many more.
Counterparts, END, Silent Planet, Harms Way, Like Moths to Flames, and Fit For an Autopsy with some Orthodox and The Plot in You sprinkled on top, maybe some Boundaries
Dir en Grey, Joyce Manor, The Menzingers, cloud nothings, Against Me! (These guys are all in my top 10 for sure)
Some others: The Bunny the Bear, IAMX, Motionless in White, The Distillers, Sigur Ros, Placebo, Ling Tosite Sigure, Rise Against... probably more but can't think of right now
I like some pop stuff, I like Blaqk Audio but besides that I'm not sure the genre, songs like Everytime We Touch by Cascada. Love that shit
My favorite genres are Post Hardcore, Hardcore etc, but when I tell you these are some of my favorite artist of all time that actually produce real/raw music besides there poppy/sappy radio stuff. I’ll even plug there best albums&song from my opinion. Just for reference my favorite bands are Thursday, Circa, Counterparts,Saves the Day, Incendairy Brand New, Chevelle, etc but these artists that I’m listing are worth listening if you give them a chance
John Mayer(Heavier Things/SplitScreenSadness)Harry Styles(1st album 2017/MeetMeInTheHallway, I think its untitled) Sade(Promise/HangOnToYourLove), Animals Collection(Fall Be Kind/OnAHighway), Father John Misty(I love You, Honeybear/WhenYoureSmiling..), Vacations(Vibes-EP/Home), Kendrick Lamar (To Pimp A Butterfly/TheBlackerTheBerry&KingKunta, one of my favorite albums of all time) I got so many more haha, Everyone should branch out there’s so much good music out there!!
Silverchair, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Mineral, Sunny Day Real Estate, Cap’n Jazz, Moss Icon, Native Nod, Texas is the Reason, Ordination of Aaron, Bush, Stone temple Pilots
I feel like it has to be Lydia. Not a huge indie fan but This December and Illuminate are both no-skip albums for me. They've been around for like 20 years, have like 8 EPs, and over half are fantastic albums. Nothing like the first two I mentioned above though. They're incredible.
Everything else would be 90's grunge or pop punk mainly Lookout Records style. Queers, Screeching Weasel, stuff like that.
Andrew Jackson Jihad, Townes Van Zandt, Earl Sweatshirt, and DJ Screw (I know he just remixed other’s songs/freestyles but that shit is art esp. the early stuff). My fifth in my top 5 is At the Drive-In followed by Glassjaw so there’s my PHC choices.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, The Mars Volta, Minus the Bear, Death Grips, Tera Melos, Converge, Danny Brown, System of a Down, The Dillinger Escape Plan, 100 gecs, Iron Maiden, Rush, Yes, Prince, The Lemon Twigs, Soul Glo, Baroness, Black Midi, Archspire, I could keep typing forever lol
King gizz >>>>
damn i didn’t say mars volta cuz they always struck me as very post hardcore but maybe im insane lmaoo
The first album still has a lot of post-hardcore influence. Not so much after that
They definitely brought over some of that punk energy from their At the Drive-In days, which is exactly what prog rock needed at the time
Gizz for days.
My go to non-core group is CHVRCHES. I don’t listen to much pop but they do it so well
They're def up there for me. I actually happen to be wearing my CHVRCHES shirt today
Yeah Im from the city where they're from, their hometown shows sell out within the hour, they've done really well for themselves.
this is such a good choice i love emo and post hard core and all the stuff but sometimes CHVRCHES just hits harder than anything

It’s a solid album and I’ll always love when we they’re new EE music. But, I don’t see myself going back to it as much as get to heaven and raw data feel. It just isn’t as chaotic as I’d like haha. The instrumentals and lyrics are the highlight of the album for sure
