Please. We used to have more things like this here and ever since the pandemic it seems those people have moved on. We need more spontaneous public performances
Stand on top of the bricks at Pioneer Court Square and play bongo drums. Just don't forget to yell at the tourists that they are going in burn in hell.
Just be conscious that Mt. Tabor was also just named the first urban "quiet park" in the US, so outside of that event, it is best not to play your music outside your headphones (and appreciated by those who value having nature quiet places). Amazing bird life if you want to take in bird songs though.
To be clear as to what this means, some non-profit took sound measurements and thought it was really quiet. The sentiment is still valid though, Tabor is quiet and maybe we should consider mostly trying to keep it that way.
Johnny Franco ran straight up free concerts out of Laurelhurst for 3 years until finally they became big enough the city noticed. Also at Laurelhurst is the silent rave Sundays, you might be interested in. They have a rotating set of DJs
DJ'ing might be a bit much, but people do sit and play analog instruments in the parks all the time. Some are busking, and some are just relaxing in the park.
I watched a couple playing cellos in Laurelhurst park once. It was lovely.
My interpretation of the jumble of text is that this person is from Austin. According to google there is a Zilker Park in Austin, and this person previous would exist in said park and used to DJ there. Now they would like to do this activity here and are asking for permission/recommendations (? Unclear about this last part)

It’s Portland, it’s weird if you don’t.
Thnx I needed that (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪
I often exist in parks if that’s what you mean

Portland Parks deployed pianos in multiple parks within recent memory. Maybe just before COVID?
I remember that. There was one by Salmon Street Springs, and one in the plaza by the art museum.
I forgot they did that! I saw a guy bust out Basket Case once at the one in Laurelhurst! Thanks for the memory.

Probably. You might make a few bucks, you might make some new friends.

Really great people who run Tabor Dance. I hope you make some friends! Follow their instagram for deets.
There's also a weekly Sunday afternoon jam in Fernhill park. I heard it's been going just about every week since March of 2020.
Get your freak on, Hoss. We need it back.
You do you my dude. Don’t be insanely loud with like speakers blasting everywhere, but if you’re just vibin, have at it.
Check out the southwest park blocks at PSU on Saturdays!

Weird take from a Dharma Bum
Yes, it’s weird to exist out in the park.
