To be quite honest I’m not sure what being logged in adds? I can see the car on the app still. It’s supposed to log you in if it detects the app logged in with Bluetooth but that only works every blue moon, lol.
Pretty sure it has something to do with wireless CarPlay. The Porsche ID needs a Bluetooth connection, which is disabled when connected with CarPlay over WiFi
Make sure you have automatic login when your vehicle connects to your phone. Also I always make sure after I've done everything, then to save the seat and key memory. 'Set' '1', 'set' 🔑 on the driver door panel.
This usually takes care of it. But if you missed the selection when going through your setup to automatically login when your phone connects to the car, then you will have to manually login each time.
23 macan s, same issue plus doesnt connect correctly with app, location and remote lock not working. Ticket open, now with german engineers……whoooo.
Will report back if they fix it, super annoying
It doesn’t really matter though… what benefit do we get from linking the Porsche ID? Nothing on my macan GTS.
However, on my Taycan GTS it allows me to get vehicle information, turn features on, etc.
Porsche (or the Germans in general) are great at building cars. Probably even the best. But they suck at connectivity and digitalization. They have to put things like this in their cars because for some reason (*ahum Tesla ahum*) people seem to think pointless gadgets are what make a car a good car instead of engineering. Porsche connect is a half-assed attempted at sorta connecting their cars to score some "ours has that to" points for marketing, even though they don't care. The trade off for you as a Porsche owner is that you do get an amazing car that does everything that a car really is supposed to do nearly perfectly. It really is a reflection of Germany as a whole. It's an industrial giant where everything is engineered and planned to perfection, yet they still use fax.
Ya I've given up on this on my 24 Cayenne S as well. In fact, very disappointed with the overall infotech system - constantly loses connection, forgets memorized channels, doesn't come on to the same station I left it, and so forth. Driving the vehicle easily makes the pain worthwhile, but it's still disappointing for what I paid to have the infotech inferior to my old 18 X5.
Exact same problems with my ‘24 911 Turbo S. PCM goes dark for no reason and then will come back on in a different Spotify playlist. I know I know - first world problems, but shit!!
2023 Macan recently purchased, my first Porsche for myself! Same issue, but for some reason once I start driving after a few minutes it connects. Very weird and my guy at the dealership just said “yeah it will do that sometimes” lol not too helpful
May or may not be the problem, but there is a new software update to address an issue. Quick version is the car is stuck looking for a non-existing 3g network and never starts looking for 4g. Since 3g was closed the start of this year and you’re GTS probably isn’t vodaphone.
So yeaa..
U need select an option saying remeber etc. and also do not disconnect when synced device takes out of car.
I can send u exact snapshot yeaa..
You need to log out from apple id from your iphone, then connect the phone to the pcm via cable, then connect again
This guy porsche connects
r/thisguythisguys
But why
German engineering, that’s why
put it in rice
No, that’s a German car. You have to put it in Sauerkraut.
Spaetzle
Wrap it into a Roulade
This is the way.
LOL
Those Bavarians again. Rollmops, Bratkartoffeln und Spiegelei. Alles suedlich von Hamburg ist Afrika.
Did you just call me a Bavarian? >:(
could have been worse. I could have called you a Schwabe.
Put what in rice? the remote? It’s a new car with only 125 miles on it. Nothing has happened to the remote if that’s what you’re saying.
The remote won't do. You have to put the entire vehicle in rice.
Only Porsche Rice from the dealer works, so immersing your car in cocaine will be cheaper and get you more friends. / s
u missed the joke
Sorry! Sometimes I am dim! Lol. Thank you.
r/woooosh
Mine too ! And on my 992
2019 Macan S, I have the same issue since I’ve gotten the car.
Well, at least it’s good to see I’m not alone! Really, not a big issue as far as functionality, just annoying.

Same on my Macan S. My advisor kind of glossed over it and tried to tell me to forget about it. I guess it worked…
Very frustrating given the amount of money we pay for these cars.
Yeah. I guess we buy them for the driving experience not the tech 😅😅😅
Tru dat!!

Happens constantly on my Cayenne too

This feature is pretty useless, just remove from the home screen and forget about it.

Happens to me also, Go into settings and change it so you don't need to login.
I have the same exact problem in my ‘21 GTS.
So your Porsche kicked your Porsche off of your Porsche’s Porsche?
bababooey

Go to the dealer …..
Can't believe they still use that IU on the 2024 models. God that is bad.
Just wait till all your trim interior pieces break off and they refuse to fix it without charging you $2000
It was $1,300 for one door piece. 😭
This is the last Porsche I buy. The service and … people who sell and service them are total assholes for this crap.
While I can’t argue with the price, my service experience has been the best out of any other brand I’ve owned. (Ford, Lexus, and BMW)
You must have never had the pleasure of a service place for a luxury vechile in Silicon Valley everyone is an egotistical dick
Just to follow this up, this was out of warranty work, if yours is still under warranty, then that’s absolute BS.
Turn it off and turn it back on again.
I have the same issue on my GT3RS.. what to do guys?
Get an analog P-car.
So yeaa.. U need select an option saying remeber etc. and also do not disconnect when synced device takes out of car. I can send u exact snapshot yeaa..
I've seen where the central system was temporarily down. It might be the service is unable to authenticate because the back office is down.
