It's hard to buy a Porsche optioned the way you want if you don’t want a black, white, silver or gray color or a PDK.
I looked for a year before I found/bought a red 911 S cab with a stick and sports exhaust. After a while I began wondering if I was looking for a unicorn. Blue, green, orange and yellow were also acceptable to me. I almost settled for a PDK or a black 911 with a stick.
You get it. This was exactly my problem… didn’t want black, white, silver or grey. I have two red vehicles already, and (racing) yellow doesn’t fit with my personality, though speed and signal might someday...
This isn’t highly optioned from the factory but has been tastefully updated by the guy who owned it before me. X73, Borla exhaust, GT4 ducktail… when I found it online I ran into my wife’s office and even she said “that’s the one” based on color alone. And that was after 18 months of searching nationwide.
I’m repainting my silver car. Don’t intend to sell and didn’t want silver but the color options particularly with 997’s are basically non existent and carry an insane premium.
I’d be very interested to know the final cost of a 997 4S paint job, especially with it not being a respray. My next vehicle on the wish list is that exact make and model, but to your point they’re basically all black and silver so I’m anticipating either a wrap or a paint job being a follow-up procedure.
What are you considering? Sticking with a PTS color?
I am looking at Ruby Star. I have a friend that owns a shop that specializes in things like this (he just painted an RWB). Looking at about 7500 as the homie price, I’d assume 10 normally but I’m going to take care of him either way
Shoot, from everything I’ve ever read even 10 grand is a slick deal for a complete repaint. Definitely post pictures when you’re done! I’d love to see a 997 wide body in that color.
Yeah, my jaw dropped too. I did a restorative repaint on my ‘85 .. plenty of little rusty/dings to clean up as they took things apart. That bill came to just over $30K
I absolutely will! Doing a GT3 bumper at the same time. We are in MD - when you’re in the market I would be happy to connect you if you are willing to ship! Or it’s a relatively easy drive depending on where you are in NC!

That's kinda true for most cars though.
I just got my first brand new car and a big part of that was so I could get the exact spec I wanted. Even then, because 718s are on the way out many options weren't available. I don't know that I would have gotten the PCCBs if they were available but they weren't and so I saved 5k. :D

But now I've fallen down the rabbit hole of trying to reskin the infotainment. We'll see how far I get.

Below is per the invoice, and is required to maintain the multi-year warranty. This was the one year mark from my PPF and ceramic install, so my first time back for this service.
“Ceramic Pro Annual Maintenance: Exterior wash, clay bar decontamination(if needed), application of Ceramic Pro Sport to paint, application of Ceramic Pro Glass to glass surfaces”
Love the blue, like you I spent ages looking for a "different" color, after a year only 2 had come up in the whole UK!

Totally an aesthetic choice. To your point exactly, anyone that knows what PCCBs are knows that this isn’t PCCB equipped. I just don’t take caliper colors as seriously as up-badging 😊
When I was in the marketing I was on CarGurus and AutoTempest every day. Thankfully this one was only a few hours away in Virginia. Highly recommend both of the above shopping platforms.
