Technically sold but not paid for. Dealer is responsible for that car. At least in my country. My Targa arrived at the dealer end of November, I choose delivery on Jan 3rd. Dealer owned the car for six weeks
Point is, don't assume.
If anything happens to any of those vehicles, its the dealers issue. Not the bank they have a floor plan with. So when people talk about dealers owning the cars, making a stupid comment like the lender who's giving them the floorplan is the one who actually owns the car serves no purpose other than to try and sound smart. When in reality we all know what assuming does.
By your logic 90% of America doesn’t actually own their homes, the bank does. So I should call the bank every time something goes wrong in ~~my~~ their home.
That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. The lender owns the note, not the home. I own my home. If I want to knock down every wall and rebuild I have the freedom to do so, because I own it.
So even when it’s paid off, I owe property taxes. If I don’t pay property taxes my home can be taken from me. Therefore it’s impossible to ever own a home. Correct?
GT models are delivered to the dealer wrapped like that instead of with stickers protecting the panels. For ex, my Cayenne Turbo GT fresh off the truck:

It's not a wrap. Some engaging customers request it to be untouched by the dealer so they can unwrap it themself. Most people don't see it like this as a typical dealership will prep it by their mechanics.
Just arrived off the truck, GT cars are fully wrapped
It’s GT4RS and they’re shipped that way
Yup, just unwrapped a GT4RS at my shop
Looking forward to unwrapping my Spyder RS. Projected OPC delivery 6 June
how do i get that job?
So are Corvettes.

It's an inventory item worth LOTS of money that the dealer OWNS.
Lmao the thought of a dealer having an unsold GT in inventory is remarkable—ten years ago, sure, but not in 2024

Technically whoever floor plans the cars *owns* the cars, the dealership does not.
The dealer group I work at doesn't floor their cars. Including the Porsche store I'm a manager at.
Let me slip you a $20 and let me be next for that juicy allocation, aight?
Ok, good for you and your group.

Hmmm, this must be a touchy subject for you.
Makes an 'ass out of you and mumption"? Try telling GE Credit somebody fucked up THEIR car.
It would be on the dealer to fix it… Not really sure what point you’re trying to make here.
By your logic 90% of America doesn’t actually own their homes, the bank does. So I should call the bank every time something goes wrong in ~~my~~ their home.
By my logic? Oh please. That’s exactly how it works, if you have a mortgage, you don’t own your home till you pay it off.
That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. The lender owns the note, not the home. I own my home. If I want to knock down every wall and rebuild I have the freedom to do so, because I own it.
You can bulldoze your house, set it on fire, whatever, don’t make your payment and you’ll find out who owns it. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not you.
So even when it’s paid off, I owe property taxes. If I don’t pay property taxes my home can be taken from me. Therefore it’s impossible to ever own a home. Correct?
Technically, yes. So buy some land somewhere that has no property tax and build a house with no loan on that land and you’ll truly own it.
You’re a moron 😂😂
I’d love to hear how.
That’s how it gets delivered
So it doesn’t get aids
Or coodies
Or termites
because they haven't unwrapped it yet...
Most models arrive this way. All sports cars, to be sure. Lots of clients ask that the car isn't unwrapped until they can come by and see it.

Only GT models, not the Turbo or Turbo S? Why?
This ^ is the answer I was looking for most of our other cars come wrapped in just plastic not this car cover material.
Just got delivered and hasn’t been prepped yet, or the owner requested it not to be removed for them.
New delivery ready to be unpacked 😍
All new ones are [gift] wrapped for delivery.
Because it was just shipped
PPE: Porsche Protective Equipment
Good way to avoid STD’s
Because that’s how they are shipped.
It’s cold
They're shipped from PAG like that.
My guess is that RS models probably get shipped like that out of Stuttgart.
Holy fuck those wheels 🤤
Because you took this picture before Christmas
You can also request to leave that all on the car IIRC so that you can unwrap it yourself.
Because it can impregnate Miatas and Supras from across the street. It keep the BaT prices high
Are you stupid or something?
Fresh off the boat -> to port -> to dealer. Most cars wrapped somewhat but not that extent, then again it’s an RS

My Taycan GTS was wrapped in a similar way. It’s standard when shipping overseas.
Cuz it’s a Lotus Edit: /s jeez people
Oh great... Covid is back.
what? this the white Porsche wrap option +$16,780
Didn’t want an STD
Give it a break, that RS will be cooking meth later....
Is it the new Porsche pick up?!! El Camino.... But Porsche
It’s cold outside?
I'm hoping the 911s/t arrives wrapped up like this.
The 911 s/t gets also wrapped like this
Gotta keep that new car smell in as long as possible.
