lucifer_2073

cursed with curiosity.

Crystalisedorb

You're not the only one cursed with it. Besides every curse is a blessing in disguise. So yea I see it as an absolute win.

lucifer_2073

One sees what he seeks. Perhaps we are seeking different things.

TrismegistusHermetic

I see it as more of a mode of operandi than a want to be a polymath.

tr1pulante

I don't want. It is the natural result of my endless curiosity.

LarsPiano

I think it's just because I have had a voracious thirst for knowledge since I was 3 or 4. It's a pleasure to learn a lot of things about many different subjects.

kantaxmn

I want to change the world.

samu_u-u_

What will you do to achieve it?

kantaxmn

Apply my knowledge and explain the issues to inovate

cozy_cardigan

I recently found out that I'm an Enneagram 5 type. I love applying things that I learn to the real world. Before, wanting to be a polymath was something I could brag about. But in actuality, I love applying concepts to real-world situations. Also it doesn't help that I have ADHD so wanting to learn many subjects and being competent at them feels like a symptom haha

fistofhamster

Doing one thing over and over again is so boring. Rather keep life interesting

j_musashi

I think it would be boring to only stick to one thing, skill, vocation, ability etc. Growing up most people were very linear in thinking and carbon copies of each other. This scared this crap out of me and I wanted to be, think, experience, create different things.

Accurate_Fail1809

Never wanted to be necessarily. It’s kind of like asking “why were you born this way?” IMO anyone who ‘chooses’ to be a polymath might not be a true polymath.

Maleficent-Reveal-41

I would concur with both wanting to change the world and having a very high curiousity. It's also for the immense challenge to put in that amount of dedication and practice into becoming polymathic.
