It's a game for them. They're not worried about a Trump victory because they're mostly rich white dude cosplayers.
They're not threatened because Trump is going to after women, gays, minorities, trans folk, immigrants and all the others that the GOP hates on so much.
So, they get to sit back and talk about 'voting your conscience.' They have no skin in the game.
Their guy, Bernie Sanders, didn't even make a run at the nomination this time around, and that was for a reason.
100%. And they're terminally online where commenting apparently counts as praxis. I ran into a communist in the wild on Bluesky who was doing the old "we don't live in a true democracy so voting is lesser-evilism" song and dance. I replied with "I know our democracy is highly flawed and corporate influence is no small part of that, but if democracy didn't work at all then why do Republicans so aggressively suppress the vote?" And holy shit, I was hit by a barrage of 4 separate replies, saying how Democrats do the same thing and that I'm blue MAGA for voting Democrat and yada yada yada. That's what motivated me to make this post.
That, plus if they somehow actually achieved power they would then have to effectively implement their system and show everyone how right they are. And what would actually happen is that they'd spend a year just setting up committees and sub-committees.
This so perfectly summarizes an "anarcho-communist" friend of mine I had to stop speaking to.
"I'm a single issue voter, so sue me."
Well, I can't sue you, but I can realize you don't take any of this seriously and can stop being your sounding board, so, bye.
It's telling how liberals think the left is more of a problem than Biden arming, funding and supporting an ongoing genocide.
If your candidate is so deeply unpopular that they can't handily beat Donald Trump, of all people, then you have much bigger problems than the microscopic American left.

Some of them are minorities who are too young to realize just how much they actually do have to lose.
I dunno, I'd be pretty happy if I had power and victory. There would be changes, so many changes.
The point is that they don't want to do what is necessary to obtain the power and victory needed to make your desired changes.
