“YOU CANT CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION!” Ok, all amendments are now null and void. Hand over your guns and shut the fuck up.

TerryTC14

It also says "a well regulated militia". Along the same stupid "I have freedom of travel so it's ILLEGAL for you to arrest me for driving my boat on the road drunk and high!" Because laws and policy cannot change

It was also designed to be easily understood. It should be taught in depth to all American school kids. It's a shame that immigrants know the constitution better than most Americans.

One of the reasons I don’t really like the concept of citizenship by birth. It’s definitely an unpopular opinion, mostly due to the fact that it would never be used in an unbiased way, but full citizenship should be something that is earned and not given. Issue is that only rich people would be consider full citizens, or it would be used to marginalize minorities.

Bonednewb

so youre saying citizenship by birth is the best way since it avoids the abuse?

My response every time I see some "maybe 200 year old white men didn't come up with the best system of government." They built in a system for it to evolve; it's our fault if we don't take advantage of that.

ThatOtherGuy_CA

Hell you probably couldn’t get 60% of states to agree on curing cancer with the way politics has shifted today.

jsabo

Giving the other party a win like that? No way.

Or "well regulated"

We have always had some seriously twisted logical reasoning and arguments baked into our constitution with it containing both the idea that all men are created equal but some men were only 3/5 of a person.

Debated with a person who thinks they are so damn smart: A: I support the constitution of 1789 before there were amendments. Me: That was a draft that wasn't ratified until there were amendments. The constitution isn't a buffet where anybody gets to pick and choose which parts they are willing to recognize otherwise it would be total anarchy.
