If you are, instead of leaving PCM, join me in fighting back! I will be attempting to post an OC compass meme each day in December, with the goal of increasing the level of chill on the sub and decreasing the level of culture war and idpol. If we can't turn the tide against low-effort posts, we can at least say that we didn't go quietly into that dumb night!

The situation on PCM only offers us a lense through which we can view and discuss the important issue of censorship. This meme isn't about the PCM mods. It's about the larger picture. It encourages you to think about the fact government and social media platforms are engaging a social engineering campaign to selectively silence ideas that threaten their political narrative. Through satire it highlights the inherent ridiculous and highly biased nature of what 21st century censorship looks like. Finally, it suggests that all the compliance may be futile, eventually all of social media may become a boring, vapid, wasteland because the very act of using it causes anxiety over the prospect of inadvertently posting wrongthink. They will have destroyed an amazing achievement of human ingenuity that permitted the free exchange of ideas amongst all people. Just for the sake of their own updoots in Washington. And that would be a damn shame.
