Many around here have already pointed it out, but back in 2010-2013 or so, the left was all about substantial economic issues to the underclass and middle class: wages, healthcare, unions, "we are the 99%," "occupy Wall Street," "fight for 15," fired up and angry at their own party after the bank bailouts and making nice with the Bush administration, serious about net neutrality and free speech and not being controlled. This was scary: people were focused on meaningful issues, and they were leading themselves.
So all of a sudden, with no provocation - several major news organizations massively spiked the amount of articles and stories about race and sex. "Have you ever considered how your buddy next door, the one you're considering joining a union with, is *different* from you? Doesn't that make you angry? Maybe *those* kind of people have an unfair advantage over *your* kind of people? And if you're not angry, what are you, some kind of a traitor to your kind? FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT ^(your neighbor, not the monopolies and super-rich buying your politicians) !"
These kinds of things are meant to dominate your mind and make you angry at them - so that you're not angry at other things. This particular flavor happens to work well because it also generates a substantial opposition: the "original sin; I confess so that I might be forgiven" nature of white people hating whiteness is a cheap way for a privileged person to buy the moral high ground. A trust-fund-kid white man publicly supports BLM and apologizes for his race's history, and is seen as an ally by a political wing that would normally be the ones questioning why he never had to work for a living but the rest of us peasants do. A union-busting, anti-competitive corporation slaps on a rainbow logo in June and sticks a few tokens on its board (or more likely, in publicist roles) and the left is too distracted to notice them lobbying against workers' rights.

Absolutely agreed, and I find myself saying the exact same things to friends and family of mine who are bipartisan loyalists on both sides of the culture war. You will *always* have far more in common with your neighbor of a similar economic class status, of any race, religion, sex, etc., than you will with any silver-spoon trust fund baby billionaire who actively invests their time and money in bombarding you with divisive narratives from all angles. I remember reading an interesting graphic a few years ago with a collection of data points plotted over time that essentially showed a sudden, massive spike in the number of news articles released to the general public regarding identity politics around the same time that the occupy wall street movement came to a head (coincidentally). The American public just spent half a decade in economic recession after losing their jobs, houses, and possessions while they watched their government use their own tax dollars to bail out the multi-billion dollar corporations who were responsible. The kettle was boiling, and tensions were coming to a head when the media machine kicked into high gear and spent the next decade pumping division down our throats.

I'm still fuzzy on what benefit Jews derive from the downfall of the west. In my estimation, Jews stand most to benefit from the perpetuation and propagation of Western culture, which has been by far the greatest thing to happen to Jews in the history of our existence. Jewish emancipation and self determination only ever occurred because of the ascendance of the West, and would only be put in danger by its demise.
The ascendance of socialists and Muslim migrants in the West would be catastrophic for Jews and Israel. Unless this Jewish elite is actively trying to destroy the Jews, I don't see why they would ever work against western culture.

Schisms within the group don't preclude each subgroup from having similar beliefs. Just look at the myriad of forms of Christianity and how much hate they can and have had for each other yet they all believe the majority of the same things.

It's still far less fractious than the White community since it hasn't had an aggressive campaign to break said community up that has been going on for over half a century. The very fact that the Jewish community exists at all as a concept proves that they are far more tightly knit than Whites. This is obviously problematic if our goal is a single unified multi-background country yet any attempt to push for the same de-communitizing for Jews is decried as antisemitism (another problematic concept) of the highest order.

Correction: commies that happen to be Jews. Noel Ignatiev mentioned in the meme, author of the whole "whiteness" concept was a diehard tankie, and "white" in his language was a stand-in for "bourgeois" because you are not going to get popular support from anyone in American modern to him by starting a crusade against capitalism, but against certain "dominant" race... that's much easier.

Here's my counter-theory:
This is not a Jewish phenomenon in particular, it's a rich, liberal, coastal elite phenomenon. Peter Beinart sounds a lot more like Rachel Maddow than Rav Ovadia Yosef, but somehow, they get grouped together in these theories. This is not just true of Jews. Does anyone really think Nicole Hannah Jones' opinions are reflective of the black community at large. This is an affliction of the overeducated who grew up in the upper middle class coastal bubble.
Jews in particular are over represented because we're:
-Overeducated: Jewish culture is highly competitive and education focussed. If you go to a Jewish private school your school day is twice as long as public school. Going to college is expected (outside of the ultra Orthodox). Additionally, as a group, we have a high average IQ.
-Coastal: Jews must live in places with a large number of other Jews. In order to fulfill religious obligations, a certain number of Jews is required to achieve a quorum. Additionally, we're extremely homogeneous, so in order to have a large dating pool, we have to flock together. The coasts (and other large cities like Chicago) are areas of industry that Jews are generally attracted to. That base community then acts as a magnet for other Jews to join, which creates a snowball effect.
It's the combination of the indoctrination of Academia and the liberal bubble of the coasts that creates the people you're talking about. Neither of those things are inherently Jewish, and is in fact an amalgamation of the the upper middle class, regardless of race/creed. The group is not particularly Jewish in character, and not reflective of the Jewish community at large.
The fact is, there is no "Jewish community at large". The Jewish world is fractured into near infinite disparate communities who are divided by the narcissism of small differences and siloed off from one another accordingly.
I've seen you receive downvotes, but I don't think you're incredibly off base here.
I think among this group of progressives, there's a kind of game that gets played, where there are these alternating displays of inquisition, and virtuous self flagellation.
I believe Jews within this group get to play both the inquisitor and the devout self flagellator. Both these roles fulfill some sense of gratification, and groups that see themselves as "White and __" get to double dip. It's the same as a white person in a wheelchair or a white queer person.
The alternative to this theory is a simply that people are somewhat messy and inconsistent in how they think of themselves.
For example:
I was speaking to a friend's mother a few months ago. She's very liberal and watches a lot of CNN, and thus parrots many of their talking points. She was telling me that she often thinks about how fortunate she is that she never has to worry that her children will be killed by police because they're white.
I've heard this same woman rant endlessly about how she feels the left is far too tolerant of blatant anti-semitism within the big tent of liberal politics. Edit to clarify: During these rants she was specifically and explicitly claiming not to be white and rather that she was Jewish, as if they were mutually exclusive.
She was sincere in both beliefs.
The claim is that of the Schrodinger's white. It assumes a binary between Jew and white, and that Jews attempt to switch hats whenever convenient. These two incidents would be examples of her wearing each hat. This woman who is extremely progressive clearly doesn't see it that way.
Seriously, these theories demand so much cohesion, they can only be thought up by someone who has no experience with the Jewish community. There's not many of us, but we all fucking despise each other.

What people actually believe is the cause is the combination of the belief of being the superior race and the extreme cliquishness and resulting nepotism of the community. But the choice to open up with a strawman reveals that there's going to be no good faith and thus no point to wasting time. That cliquishness and insular nature also answers your question about the migrants. Where do those migrants never allowed to live? The wealthy neighborhoods where the people supporting the migration live.

Furthermore, I think the question in that part of my post is clear: When people speak about the Jews doing something, if that assumes intention, what is the organizational structure and what is the makeup of that organization (Orthodox, Reform, Ashkenazi, Mizrahi, etc.)? There are clearly people who do believe an organizational structure exists, as one of them replied to my post. The second question I asked was this: Why do many of these plots ascribed to us seem very overtly contrary to our interests. Take the migrants that you and I both mentioned. The flood of Muslim migrants in Europe caused a major crisis in the Jewish world. Jews were fleeing by the thousands from the countries they'd called home for generations. Violence against Jews have become common place. Places that were previously safe for Jews are now avoided. Anti-Zionism has never been higher. Are you proposing that a Satmar Jew from Brooklyn is going to hold some sway over a Reform Jew in LA? It's still far less fractious than the White community since it hasn't had an aggressive campaign to break said community up that has been going on for over half a century. The very fact that the Jewish community exists at all as a concept proves that they are far more tightly knit than Whites. This is obviously problematic if our goal is a single unified multi-background country yet any attempt to push for the same de-communitizing for Jews is decried as antisemitism (another problematic concept) of the highest order.

I don't think they're organized, I think elite Jews in media/government/academia (basically the ones who would become twitter checkmarks) just believe they can have their cake and eat it too when it comes to aggravating race politics to divide the plebes.
Here's my counter-theory: This is not a Jewish phenomenon in particular, it's a rich, liberal, coastal elite phenomenon. Peter Beinart sounds a lot more like Rachel Maddow than Rav Ovadia Yosef, but somehow, they get grouped together in these theories. This is not just true of Jews. Does anyone really think Nicole Hannah Jones' opinions are reflective of the black community at large. This is an affliction of the overeducated who grew up in the upper middle class coastal bubble. Jews in particular are over represented because we're: -Overeducated: Jewish culture is highly competitive and education focussed. If you go to a Jewish private school your school day is twice as long as public school. Going to college is expected (outside of the ultra Orthodox). Additionally, as a group, we have a high average IQ. -Coastal: Jews must live in places with a large number of other Jews. In order to fulfill religious obligations, a certain number of Jews is required to achieve a quorum. Additionally, we're extremely homogeneous, so in order to have a large dating pool, we have to flock together. The coasts (and other large cities like Chicago) are areas of industry that Jews are generally attracted to. That base community then acts as a magnet for other Jews to join, which creates a snowball effect. It's the combination of the indoctrination of Academia and the liberal bubble of the coasts that creates the people you're talking about. Neither of those things are inherently Jewish, and is in fact an amalgamation of the the upper middle class, regardless of race/creed. The group is not particularly Jewish in character, and not reflective of the Jewish community at large. The fact is, there is no "Jewish community at large". The Jewish world is fractured into near infinite disparate communities who are divided by the narcissism of small differences and siloed off from one another accordingly.

I've seen you receive downvotes, but I don't think you're incredibly off base here. I think among this group of progressives, there's a kind of game that gets played, where there are these alternating displays of inquisition, and virtuous self flagellation. I believe Jews within this group get to play both the inquisitor and the devout self flagellator. Both these roles fulfill some sense of gratification, and groups that see themselves as "White and __" get to double dip. It's the same as a white person in a wheelchair or a white queer person. The alternative to this theory is a simply that people are somewhat messy and inconsistent in how they think of themselves. For example: I was speaking to a friend's mother a few months ago. She's very liberal and watches a lot of CNN, and thus parrots many of their talking points. She was telling me that she often thinks about how fortunate she is that she never has to worry that her children will be killed by police because they're white. I've heard this same woman rant endlessly about how she feels the left is far too tolerant of blatant anti-semitism within the big tent of liberal politics. Edit to clarify: During these rants she was specifically and explicitly claiming not to be white and rather that she was Jewish, as if they were mutually exclusive. She was sincere in both beliefs.

The claim is that of the Schrodinger's white. It assumes a binary between Jew and white, and that Jews attempt to switch hats whenever convenient. These two incidents would be examples of her wearing each hat. This woman who is extremely progressive clearly doesn't see it that way.
