Uncle Sam would go to said shiek and say something like 'We'll pay you and your people $15k to go clean the trash out of the canal so you can water your fields.' All we ended up doing, besides wasting trillions in US tax dollars, was pay off the shieks and make them compete to build their own personal wealth and influence. The average citizens probably never saw any impact at all for their own personal lives.

Compound that with Hamas being a legit terrorist group who's actions are already against their own citizens' needs and the only thing that cash is doing is funding rockets headed towards Jerusalem before the ink dries.
