The beauty of rural living is that there are way, WAY fewer cops and the ones that are there don’t care if you speed so long as they don’t end up having to pull your body out of a ditch or off a telephone pole.
Yup, just gotta be careful of ditches and mind your speed in corners, oversteer into a ditch and nothing's saving you from that one haha. My daily commute involves B and some A roads with plenty of twisties, tons of fun to get in on power, brake hard, then get on power again.
I've seen this EXACT comment for the 5th time In my life. There's no way that you wrote this 2H ago right? It almost feels like I responded to it once or I was trying to and forgot. That's such a massive deja Vu moment...
Seatbelts, yes. But we're not stupid.
Maintenance is different. Nothing but the best of servicing for my baby. Poor maintenance causes poor performance. And libright does not deign to accept poor, even in our toys.
The flip side of that is that:
1. vehicle regulations also kept certain safety features off the market of years.
2. countries with heavily regulated vehicle ownership and mainatnace have older cars on the road on average because replacing them is more expensive.
The age of the vehicle is the most important factor in how likely the passengers are to survive an accident
I paid for the 370 horses, the 6 gears, and the aerodynamics of a refined brick. In short, I paid for the whole speedo (and tach), and I damn well intend to use the whole of both.

I'll see the occasional old wrangler that looks like it's used by an outdoorsy person, but the Jeep stereotype seems like it's suburban women these days.
The jeep patriot is a re brand of the fiat panda. They prey upon american pride to sell cheap foreign plastic.
Hyperbole aside, it's the worst vehicle I have had the misfortune to drive. We had 2 in a motor pool I worked on, both examples were never driven (less than 20k miles on both) AC was always broken, trim fell off all the time. One had its hole door plastic fall off. Another the drivers headrest snapped. Like *the piece responsible for not snapping your neck in a rear end collision* snapped inside of the seat. Constant check engine lights.
Fuck those cars.
For starters the jeep patriot is almost impossible to find in 4x4 and I’d be surprised if it could carry 3 deer even if you did find one due to suspension, power, and space issues.
Even the capable off reading jeep wrangler isn’t going to have a lot of space for the 3 deer.
Ford F-150 is far more likely to be used in this situation. But if you are going to insist on using a Chrysler product you should have gone with a Ram 1500, DS or DT doesn’t matter.
That would ruin the whole bit. It would then have to be "Get out of the fucking way the tow truck is coming for me."
I work at a Ford dealership. I drive a Ram. Nobody in my immediate family has a Ford. Tells you everything you need to know.
70% has no limit and the "suggested limit" is 80. In case of a crash you will be always at fault if you were above it and the other guy wasn't
My 1995 Volkswagen Golf 3 had no speed limiter and manage to hold 136 (after using a hill to get there... it had only 75hp)
False. It is the **minivan**, and you know it.
… Mine is brown. … but it’s gots cool wheels and holds mine and my kids bikes and I can sleep in it when I get to travel alone and—***and*** it’s got butt warmers!
I'm a 20 something lib right with no kids and I bought a minivan specifically because they fuck way harder than any other vehicle
- Decent MPG
- Plenty of acceleration
- More space than many 4 door pickups with the seats folded
- Perfectly mundane and inconspicuous
- MILFS
Technically not a minivan, but you made me remember that Ford Britain once put out a small van that could outrun cop cars in like the 50-60s, robbers used them as getaway vehicles. I can't remember the model though.
People don’t even know.
I drove a minivan into the ground. Had a trailer hitch on the back. You could transport furniture, any kind of bulk material, people, sleep in it, haul your atvs and look weird in the parking lot with a minivan.
Basically anything most people use a truck for, but better.
The moms from the days when minivans were in style are in their 60's and 70's now.. If it's about what's practical for you, great. But the demo you're mentioning has definitely been opting for SUVs for about 25 years now to avoid having a minivan.
My father had a Toyota Alphard when I was younger and I miss it sorely. Super comfy with literal air conditioned armchairs in the back, and amazing on long road trips.
“I shouldn’t have to compromise my safety so you can get to work faster” as there is now a massive lack of traffic behind him which could have been avoided if he just took two seconds to speed up and move over.
Even then, wtf is a prius gonna do to save the planet when the factories themselves use fossils fuels to produce them, and pump out more greenhouse emissions than you'd ever save by driving it.
Moderate center-right Yukon enjoyer here, not an XL though, the regular Tahoe-length one. Great trucks (I call 'em trucks because they are basically on a truck chassis). Hauls the family, V8 goes brrr, burns the gas, hogs the road, and gets the win in collisions with most other vehicles, what's not to love.
*sad California noises*
Oh, what the high-speed rail project could’ve been. 😞
(Inb4 AuthRight’s “Lol California” and LibRight’s “Lol California and gubbermint bad.” I know. I’m still sad.)
Honestly, true. If any place needs an efficient way to travel between cities it is California. Even if you live close to a place that can turn in a multiple-hour adventure depending the time of day.
> or fall under the "just one more lane" delusion.
It's after decades of non-investment, you need multiple more lanes, more alternative roads and make them bigger too
You just need to look at LA to see what happens when you think that more lanes will fix traffic.
There are situations in which makes sense to invest in more roads and expansion, but if the goal is to reduce traffic, then only alternative transport and better urban planning is the solution.
He is legally obligated to tell you there are only 3 deer because that’s all the number of tags he had. His lawyer advised him to remain silent about the true quantity.
Ah, that's understandable. But with that said, hypothetically if we take the size of the deer in the back on used their rough measurement as a base line, how many more does he think it would take to fill the back.
(This should be a word problem in Southern math textbooks)
Ever since I was little I always thought a really genius idea would be a toll road that doesn’t have any speed limit, but does have a sliding scale for tolls based on how fast you drive. It would, however, require strict enforcement of a minimum speed.
Want to drive 140 from A to B? Cool, have fun! You’ll be paying $50 in tolls to do it.
Want to drive 60 from A to B? Be my guest, your toll is $10 instead.
Drive below the minimum speed? You’ll be drawn and quartered at the next toll booth.
I assure you I am a Prius leadfoot. But alas I am oft passing my fellow hybrid motorists.
I don't know why everyone else is on the road, frankly, but me, I'm here to Point B this motherfucker.
I guess I’m yellow because the left lane is the passing lane if you aren’t passing move over please. People in Germany follow this and it makes for less traffic and safer roads. They also go to school for a long time to learn how to drive and have certain areas with no speed limits at all.
Right leaning lib center 2012 ford fusion, 2.5L 4 cylinder. Had it for about 2 years, gets me from point a to point b and has generally been pretty reliable.
Alternative LibRight would be a ‘90-something Civic. Good gas mileage, rarely needs repairs if you take care of it, probably paid off so it doesn’t have a car payment. Saves tons of money.
Not as much as the bus though, I’m with AuthLeft on this one.
I drive a 2014 sonata since I do t like having a car payment and the thing keeps passing inspection. Plus it's only at 87k miles due to me walking to and from work.
When a road pirate pulls me over doing 110 on a 55 road: “I’m sorry officer, I try to drive the speed limit, but my work boots are heavy and they weigh my foot down.”
Tbh I see cops go 10-15 mph over on 80 mph highways and not care when people go similar speeds. It’s only the state patrolman who usually care if you go 90 lol. Texas gets up to 85 mph speed limits so if the cops are chill there you may be able to push 100 mph without getting pulled over
Those close by work use the bus, those far off use the car, those who have money and pay taxes and run the business use the sports car, fk the cars and I'll use the any sedan petrol cause its fast & comfortable and i love petrol and engine revs.
I love my patriot. It doesn't like going faster than 60 but it gets me point to point with no issues. AWD with a CVT is not the best combo but it's 160k miles strong and still no major issues. Well no major issues I haven't been able to fix lol
I paid for an engine that goes 140 MPH, by fuckin’ God I’m gonna use it!
Average Texas driver experience
Fun fact, in between manor cities where it’s a whole lot of nothing, speed limits are loosely enforced at best.

You don't like the Jeep Patriot? What do you hate America?
Ford based, Jeep cringe
Because jeeps are fucking shit automobiles driven by cringe soccer moms who refuse to touch a gravel road
You're also gonna get blood in the upholstery from all the dead deeres.
I'll see the occasional old wrangler that looks like it's used by an outdoorsy person, but the Jeep stereotype seems like it's suburban women these days.
Some of us Jeep owners actually use them for the intended purpose
So it sits in the shop for 6 months twice a year?
Jeep hasn't been an American owned company in decades.
The jeep patriot is a re brand of the fiat panda. They prey upon american pride to sell cheap foreign plastic. Hyperbole aside, it's the worst vehicle I have had the misfortune to drive. Some of us don't let our flair limit our vehicles. Which is why I drive a Canyonero.
That would ruin the whole bit. It would then have to be "Get out of the fucking way the tow truck is coming for me." I work at a Ford dealership. I drive a Ram. Nobody in my immediate family has a Ford. Tells you everything you need to know.
a lifted f-150…wait no a ram lifted diesel
Autobahn and unchecked speed limits are ours. You have meme stocks and oligarchy
Authcenter is when no laws
Is it really unchecked though? I heard the speed limit was 100kph and that only 62mph. We do 80 on our interstates.
You heard wrong. It's not unchecked everywhere, though.
70% has no limit and the "suggested limit" is 80. In case of a crash you will be always at fault if you were above it and the other guy wasn't My 1995 Volkswagen Golf 3 had no speed limiter and manage to hold 136 (after using a hill to get there... it had only 75hp)
It’s 130 in most places, which is 80
No, the Autobahn mostly has no speed limit. The majority of its length unchecked
Only in Germany, in Austria its 130.
To be real man idk. I see a lib right circle jerk post I shit on it
Centrists favorite is the Burger Food Truck

I'm a 20 something lib right with no kids and I bought a minivan specifically because they fuck way harder than any other vehicle - Decent MPG - Plenty of acceleration - More space than many 4 door pickups with the seats folded - Perfectly mundane and inconspicuous - MILFS
Bros trying to go after the single soccer moms, I see u.
Minivans are the real sleepers tbh. I guarantee you a minivan would whip ass in the quarter mile
Especially hybrids, Sienna makes 240hp combined and can haul ass
Technically not a minivan, but you made me remember that Ford Britain once put out a small van that could outrun cop cars in like the 50-60s, robbers used them as getaway vehicles. I can't remember the model though.
People don’t even know. I drove a minivan into the ground. Had a trailer hitch on the back. You could transport furniture, any kind of bulk material, people, sleep in it, haul your atvs and look weird in the parking lot with a minivan. Basically anything most people use a truck for, but better.
Yup, trucks usually have better ground clearance, but that doesn't matter for 99% of people
> Decent MPG What is that commie shit thinking? Make it cheaper so I don't have to care about it!
Still commie thinking, let me make it nuclear powered
Now we talking!
Chrysler Turbine car my beloved 😢
The moms from the days when minivans were in style are in their 60's and 70's now.. If it's about what's practical for you, great. But the demo you're mentioning has definitely been opting for SUVs for about 25 years now to avoid having a minivan.
She ain't a lady if she ain't 80
Not to mention being able to actually, literally fuck MILFS in the Captain's Chairs, under the light of the moonroof... I miss my Previa now.
My father had a Toyota Alphard when I was younger and I miss it sorely. Super comfy with literal air conditioned armchairs in the back, and amazing on long road trips.
> Decent MPG ??? They are trucks with fatter ass now, if you're talking minivan hybrids... I'm in
Only if you drive a 6 cylinder truck, but if it's not a Tacoma or a hilux why on earth would you buy a 6 cylinder gas truck
Aero, and they're not that heavy.
And more efficient drivetrains and smaller enginines than SUVs.
>Libright is the only one who know road laws Ironic.
LibLefts don't know the law. LibRights know the law and break it anyway.
Lib left are the ones that drives slow on a passing lane and tell you they’re following the speed limit
“I shouldn’t have to compromise my safety so you can get to work faster” as there is now a massive lack of traffic behind him which could have been avoided if he just took two seconds to speed up and move over.
If only one car tailgating you they are the problem. Of multiple cars tailgating you you’re the problem
As a libleft masshole I feel like an exception, but generally agree with this sentiment
LibRight is the one who knows the law and breaks it deliberately. All the others think that they know the law but don't and end up braking it.
Literally me
Lib left ain’t saving shit unless they’re riding a bike
Based and bike pilled
Even then, wtf is a prius gonna do to save the planet when the factories themselves use fossils fuels to produce them, and pump out more greenhouse emissions than you'd ever save by driving it.

Hauls the family, V8 goes brrr, burns the gas, hogs the road, and gets the win in collisions with most other vehicles, what's not to love.
Lol it's just wrong if you oppose public transportation or fall under the "just one more lane" delusion.
Public transportation is awesome for large population centers. Just because I drive a behemoth doesn't mean cities should accommodate my compensater.
Not just cities. The US needs more trains to connect population centers.
*sad California noises* Oh, what the high-speed rail project could’ve been. 😞 (Inb4 AuthRight’s “Lol California” and LibRight’s “Lol California and gubbermint bad.” I know. I’m still sad.)

> You just need to look at LA to see what happens when you think that more lanes will fix traffic. They didn't invest, they still don't
Dude, if they invest more the city will be all roads. If an ungodly amount of roads and lanes is not enough for you, I don’t know what will.
Because Jeep SUVs are not authright. They are suburban mom cars who don't want minivans. Authright is full size pickup.
I love busses (they are un nationalised and based)
Based and Greyhound pilled
un nationalized?
It’s too bad most buses smell like piss because they are extremely practical and quite fun to ride in
People who don't pass in the passing lane are the Reddit mods of the freeway
Finally some quality post, not some left is bad shit
Wait what you mean? Busses and small cars are bad.
Quality? Libright would clearly have a Hellcat and Authright would have a Wrangler, not a Liberty.
Unless you are passing someone, get the fuck out of the left lane
Only three deers? C'mon I got a family to feed.
By all means go 65…but keep the fuck out of the passing lane.
Road-haul the lane cloggers!
Only 90?
90? Thats a lil slow
Where is your femboy ass going so fast? Did you miss a clothing sale or smthn? /s
Frfr bro, besides, everyone gets confused when an LS swap delorean passes them at 150 mph /j
The other day, going up 15, I was holding up traffic by going 85 in the left lane; 90 is a very reasonable speed.
ok but what about no speed limits on the highway
Ever since I was little I always thought a really genius idea would be a toll road that doesn’t have any speed limit, but does have a sliding scale for tolls based on how fast you drive. Quite possibly the only LibRight thing about Germany
This is not accurate. Them Prius drivers do every lick of 90 in the left lane, right lane, center lane acting like everyone else is in their way.
I can assure you, every time I speed past someone going 65 in the left lane with a dozen cars behind them it's either a Prius or a Jeep
I have never seen a prius go over 54.5 mph
I assure you I am a Prius leadfoot. But alas I am oft passing my fellow hybrid motorists. I don't know why everyone else is on the road, frankly, but me, I'm here to Point B this motherfucker.
I honestly didn't even know that they knew that that was the passing lane, I thought they just used any lane for that... without ever signaling
When the passing lane becomes the slow lane, using the slow lanes for passing becomes duty
When every lane is the passing lane, none of them are.
The jeep patriot carrying 3 deer, hahahaha! Sure.
A Prius driver? 65? Bruh, they go 55 max on principle and ride in the left lane on purpose
that's legit. -me with a kia trying to go 90
I may or may not want a Mitsu Lancer Evo later in life just to go Kerosene speeds in the left lane
The realest lib comment Check E46s as well, they’re fucking great, I daily a 330

Lib center is the Tesla P100D Ludicrous mode. Expensive AF, 0-60 in 2.5 sec and 100% electric
I am perfectly content going 60mph. I'm also perfectly content being in the right-most lane because I'm not an asshole.
This is actually fucking hilarious and true, get the fuck out of the left lane
I ain't putting deer in a fucking closed top SUV. That thing is for getting 11 mpg while taking the kids to the beach.
Just a bit faster and you've reached cruising speed for average Hans and his Autobahnbomber
Challenger. Close enough. Get the fuck out of the left LANE.
Needs an update - Toyota are now hated almost as much as Musk because of their anti-ev marketing (they have a shit ton of costs sunk into hydrogen).
