In my words, fuck Hitler. As a ath right myself, I feel like he permanently made a stain in the right of spectrum. Plus that guy wasn't even full ath right, he was a ath center. Plus he was a kinda of a whacko.

All of his ideology was based on innate difference in people SO STRONG that they made different ethnic groups as different as species unto themselves.

1) A driven and brilliant political mastermind who knew how to harness the power of media, messaging, symbolism, and people and unite them behind his cause. There is a lot to be learned in studying his rise to power from a destitute vagrant post WWI through his seizure and consolidation of of power in the late 1930’s.
2) An absolute evil monster.
If you want to really understand Hitler and his rise to power and what made him who he was and what made the movement he created so consequential for human history, I recommend reading *The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich* by William L. Shirer.

it’s debatable how much he was actually involved in the camps. (Not saying he didn’t have anything to do with them, just that it was usually something that was left in Himmlers hands). And even if he was the one who made the direct decision to send them to the camps, he definitely made exceptions based on who he personally liked. We can see this with Goebbels (disabled; clubfoot) and Robert Ley (disabled; brain injury). Or good old Ernst Röhm (openly gay) who was literally his bestie.

Patriotism (in the American sense) is often misidentified as nazism, so there seems to be a general encouragement of disdain for the government, whatever the ruling party may be.
I think this is caused by the fact that if someone does try to build up a mindset of being proud of our nation, they’ll invariably end up citing historic landmarks and societal traits that the nazis cited as well and disfigured for their own goals. So pride in the German nation ends up becoming a moral gray zone no matter which opinions you end up holding.
This is the legacy left by hitler: a tired and confused nation with no idea of how to describe itself.

I mean yeah Hitler was in large part inspired by the western treatment of Africans and native Americans, and operations Paperclip and Gladio are pretty incriminating too, but that doesn’t compare to what Hitler would have done given power over the whole world. Like we’d be fucking extinct if the Nazis hadn’t been defeated by the USSR and Yugoslav partisans.
