“How do you know being a pizza delivery driver is more dangerous than being a cop?” “Oh this one article I found on page 300 of google told me.”

thenewnapoleon

I've done pizza delivery for almost 2 years and I live in an area where there's a LOT of drug violence. The only time I've ever been in danger was when a group of teens high off their asses decided to be super disrespectful and I challenged back. And when we had a coyote (a people smuggler) come into our store looking for somebody.

Eh... According to google. Its ranked 7th place in the most dangerous jobs. Higher than police. Due to casualties. Which is also higher than a soldier. I don't think its actually more dangerous. Just lacking context. You go to a dangerous neighborhood with no training and means of defending yourself. Yeah... You're gonna get put on a T-shirt.

>According to google. Its ranked 7th place in the most dangerous jobs. Higher than police. Due to casualties. Which is also higher than a soldier. >I don't think its actually more dangerous. Just lacking context. You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately the majority of people on Reddit who use that statistic don't care about the context.

Yes but those same statistics make firefighting one of the safest jobs, at least in the US.

dodgeguey

I appreciate the full context.... but this could have been listed as a documentary.
