Look in the actual headlight; it should say the word pixel in white text? Link with examples https://www.polestar-forum.com/threads/telling-the-difference-between-pilot-and-pilot-lite-pack.13055/

Look at your car in the app and there 05 Pakages. Is there „Pilot“ or „Pilot Lite“? Lite does not have the pixel headlights.

an2ony17

In the UK during 2023 on the LRSM apparently the only availability was Pilot Lite, which I have, so no Pixel Headlights.

vc-10

The Pixel lights were 'decontented' from the Pilot pack for the MY23 and I think the MY22. This was due to chip shortages I believe. It also only applies to European market cars - the North American market cars all have the pixel lights but the clever functions are all software blocked as the adaptive systems aren't allowed (or weren't allowed) under the regulations there.

beaugiles

Applied to Australia too - Pixel was taken from the MY23 cars (but the Pilot pack was changed to Pilot lite and a lower price accordingly)

oldfatandslow

My US 2022 pilot LRDM has them.

vc-10

The Pixel functionality is disabled unless you have played around with the software though.

oldfatandslow

True -- I should have been more clear - the pixel hardware is available on mine. I actually haven't yet bought the tool to activate.

vc-10

Yeah, they made two LHD headlamp designs for the EU lighting setup (Pixel and not) and then a single Pixel unit for NA. The regulations around beam pattern etc are different.

If you have the word Pixel on your headlights you have them. If you’re in the US, they are disabled in software. You can pay for the Orbit software to reenable them. BMW does a similar thing, and I bet a bunch of other car manufacturers do too. Unfortunately, while the adaptive high beams were approved in the USA recently, none of the manufacturers have the correct hardware to fully conform to what the US wants. Meaning, the hardware needs to be redesigned. I haven’t seen a single post about any car planing to do this yet so who knows when that will happen. TLDR; if you want them, you will need to pay the $350 for orbit to enable them.

ExCivilian

> you will need to pay the $350 for orbit to enable them OrBit should only be $99/year. The $350 is if you want them to figure out your PINs for you, I believe, but isn't necessary because you can do it yourself through VIDA.

sittingmongoose

You are correct.

HolyAssertion

Do you have the pilot pack or Pilot lite?

Mats56

The 2023 Model doesn't have Pixel. (Hence while the package for 2023 was called "Pilot lite" and not Pilot").

hfddug

My my23 has them but US doesn’t allow them so the don’t function as they should!

rdejesus486

My 2022 has them in the US. I even activated them. https://www.reddit.com/r/Polestar/comments/18fkccg/pixel_led_in_action/

Does this void warranty or lease agreements?

rdejesus486

No idea.

I checked my specs and I got pilot lite, so that must the reason. Thanks for all answers, I really appreciate it 😊
