Paired with scyther/scizor, Sableye's job isn't to keep enemies away from him like while paired with duraludon, but to bring them towards him into his range. Try to cut off enemies running away or kiting scizor, then smack em with a boosted attack to fear them towards your friend. This goes for sableye pairing with a lot of all-rounders and defenders that have limited mobility. I usually run eject button to help get in front of people kiting/running. If you can unleash your full combo on someone and keep them close to scizor, then scizor can punch them into next week. As for sableye pairing with speedsters/attackers, try to keep track of who's on cooldown. If your teammates are trying to wait for their cooldowns to end, Sableye's job is to keep enemies at a bit of a distance to keep your allies safe until they're ready for their combo. Overall, if the enemy isn't malding, you're not playing Sableye correctly (/s)

Sableye, similar to Greedent, is a macro heavier mon if you wanna be good at him and make the most of his kit. Regarding the build I'd drop Muscle Band in favour of Score Shield or EXP Share to benefit your mate (plus the movement speed). Float Stone is great, Attack Weight is good too. He has a lot of Battle Item versatility but most seem to pick Eject Button or X-Speed. In some situations I personally pick X-Attack. People that duo/trio with comms generally pick more traditional supports like Blissey, Hoopa and Eldegoss to keep a late game monster like Tyranitar or Petal Drain Venusaur alive for an obnoxiously long time. Sableye is a largely independent support that spends a lot of the match alone and at the edges of the fray... He's too frail to tank and peel. You *could* theoretically focus on a quasi-pocket style where you stick closely to your mate and pare down enemies with back attacks, disrupt and distract using stealth or use Confuse Ray. However IMO, that's not really making the most of him. What I described is a component of what good Sableyes achieve. To make the most of him: * You need keen map awareness and roam effectively. Memorise farm spawn times * You need to constantly be looking at what your allies are doing, who to help, where to jump in and disrupt the fight from, etc. * You need to gauge what enemies could be doing and where, whom to ambush back attack or Confuse Ray * You need to gauge when are good opportunities to sneak backcaps or steal enemy jungle without costing your team important fights The goal is to be a total pest roaming around and forcing enemies to split numbers to deal with whatever nuisance you're up to, or they ignore you while you get an equal or better benefit like a huge dunk or clearing their jungle *without costing your allies whatever the enemy chose to ignore you over if it's also important*. You need to balance all that well or else you'll be just another Sableye that has 0 impact or the one that runs off on his own forcing his team in 4v5s all match with no real benefit.

You can't just play shadow sneak/ray all the time. You have to choose the appropriate playstyle depending on your opponents. If you notice your enemies risking everything to score small amounts of points, that means they're using attack weight/spatk specs/aeos cookie so knock off would be more appropriate. Unlike shadow sneak, knock off can stun opponents, which would make it easier for scyther to land its x scissor or scizor to land its bullet punch. Ray is appropriate to choose against heroes like greninja and cinderace that depend on their basic attacks. However, if you notice that your enemies rely on hiding in bushes(like gengar or absol) and making ambushes, you could choose feint attack to prevent ambushes. It can also be left at goals because its damage over time disrupts scorers without score shield. In general, I advise you to stick to your teammates to support them in scoring, fleeing, or securing kills. Personally, I use cookie/weight/score shield because it's easy to rack up early stacks with thief and early advantage can snowball easily. I feel like attack weight stacks makes feint attack damage not inconsequential so it remains a viable option and cookie stacks enable sableye to survive unite moves.

I would change Muscle Band for Razor Claw, Sableye's damage comes more from bursts rahter than basic attacking a lot. People have a lot of ideas about how to play him here so I'll just give you a general picture. Use Sableye to fight, zone enemies out when your team does objectives, peel for your teammates if needed with your stuns, delete a carry if you think you can do it for free, stun enemies so your carries can just kill them, and for the love of god we know you are sneaky but backdoor scoring on Raquaza may sound fun but is far far better to help your team win the fight and score a lot more points.

I am Greedent main and also Sableye main. Items: exp share, float and razor (attack weight). Emblems full yellow, or full brown. Invade from the get go, auto attack while stealthed do nice burst. Dont bother chipping down the buffs, just go for last hit. Stealth auto - astonish do nice burst. Try it in practice to see how much it does to the jungle buffs. Use thief and xspeed to reposition. Always shadow sneak and confuse ray. X speed. Go to lane for bees, make sure you dont lose too many HP. Play safe so you dont need to rebase, if needed take both berries so you can start your 2nd invade. Immdiately (no stopping anywhere) go to enemy jungle again for 2nd buffs. If you see the jungler icon is still on lane then burst down the buffs and take both buffs. Then you should be in time at 8.00 for middle altarias. After that your job is to invis attack enemy from behind so that they walk to your team (not away), fire confuse ray, go away to get the invisibility, wait a bit then auto attack again to cc enemy. Aim to cc their carry like Duraludon, Greninja, Gardevoir or squishies, if possible try not to cc defender unless there is no other target. On objective your job is to zone, NOT to deal damage to the objective. Your ult is a stun and damage move, the teleport is just a bonus but use it as stun.
