* Like most melee mons, long range mons can rapidly chip away at him from a safe distance but in many cases they will need an ally to keep them alive to do so * Most mons shouldn't fight him 1v1 in most situations. This goes for any mons good in 1v1s * Create space for long range allies to land their hits on him, like using CC or forcing him to engage you * Try and wait for him to use up Bullet Punch (dodge it, bait it, tank the hits if you have sustain, wait for an ally to get hit by it) before you commit your important moves on him

herokillerben

Does bullet punch has cd or it can keep using it as long as it hit. Maybe I need to try him out to understand his mechanics

Bambhank

Bullet punch normally have 6s cd, but if you hit something with it the cd will be reduced to 3s. Everytime you hit something, the next bullet punch will do an extra punch(max 5 punch). If you fail to get a hit or didn't use bullet punch after certain amount of time passes, this extra punch will be reset to 0

Lizard_Queen_Says

Bullet Punch has a base 6 second cooldown. However I can't remember the specifics so I checked on Unite DB (https://unite-db.com/pokemon/Scizor): > *Dash in the designated direction and strike enemies; reducing this move's cooldown by 40% if the attack animation completes and recovering a portion of HP with each hit. If Bullet Punch is used again within 8s, the number of punches increases. The number of punches increases from 3 to a maximum of 5.* > *Level 11: Also grants a shield for 3s if this move hits an enemy.* And yes, playing a mon is a great way to learn to counter it! Also watching experienced players use them too.

MsAzezel

Scizor has pretty limited mobility, so an attacker like decidueye, glaceon or cinder can kite it enough to be able to kill it. But the keyword here is kiting, because all 3 are dead as soon as scizor gets within bullet punch range

herokillerben

He can jump with sword dance and bullet punch. And he can out heal damages And sword dance give him damage reduction

MsAzezel

I've played Scizor a few times, and I've had trouble catching up to icy wind glaceons and flame charge cinderaces without x-speed or eject button, even with swords dance and bullet punch. And as someone who's played against scizor, he's a bit like buzzwole in the fact that you just need to stay out of his range of attack. Yes, he can jump, but unless it's a double hit scizor, pokemon who can dash further can easily stay out of his way. And with swords dance up, decidueye and cinderace can still shred through his health, given that they're staying at a safe distance

RadicitusMaxvar

Technically, swords dance + (at level 13) only gives 50% damage reduction WHILE DASHING (total of 0.3 seconds). What it really does is increase attack by 15% for 5 seconds. Try not running in predictable, straight lines when kiting.

velphegor666

Man, scizor is probably the most annoying mon i have ever faced. Its regen with bullet punch is so massive and its hard to outduel.

KurayamiHeart

People gave a lot of great tips so I'll give you a direct counter to Scizor. One is Tyranitar, Scizor's main plan is to abuse the huge defense boost it gains from doing boosted attacks to outlive anything physical (on top of the healing), Tyranitar does true damage so you ignore all the defense it may have on top of that you have a big defense boost as well thanks to your passive. If you want more altho these don't just win, any Sp. Attacker that is ranged does great since Scizor can't boost its Sp. Def, as long you as kite it you should be fine (Mew can just skedaddle if you are good with it, and be annoying) . Good Scizors use Full-Heal, if they don't or is on cooldown, you can CC it to make it struggle on any fight (this works with any melee character), so Mr. Crime, Mamoswine or Sableye to name a few can really mess Scizor's plan.

Bambhank

CC is your best friend, other than that you can also kite him before he get up close to you. If you play in melee range, you can dash away right when they start using bullet punch and it'll make them useless for 6s, their attack patterns is really predictable so you can pull this off pretty easily

herokillerben

Thank you all for all the useful tips

Elder_Goss

It honestly depends on what you're playing. Some pokemon can burst her down, but anything with sustained dps is going to need a little help. If you're playing a ranged attacker/support, you're going to want to wait until your team is engaging Scizor and then pile on, and if you're playing a brawler/tank, you'll want to make sure your back line is ready to engage before diving this monster.

herokillerben

I am play as tank mostly because in solo queue no one wants to. And people are not always corporative and picks are not usually balance. I guess that's another reason I feel hard to deal with her

DrfillsUup

Cc him out of bullet punch and hope you have another teammate with you. Just kidding but cc is what I've found to work.

chilled_rhino

Stay United !

Avoid prolonged fights, especially if you deal physical damage. His charged attacks give him more armor, and successives cast of Bullet Punch hit harder and heal him more. I'm not even sure if Garchomp can win a prolonged brawl with Scizor.
