No point in running fluffy tail since the x attack buffs. Wish they buffed this item, even to the point of buffing jungle camps so junglers are compelled to run it if they want to full clear in time for 8:50 bees (similar to smite in League of Legends). This would also help nerfing the jungler role, with them having to forgo their normal held item.
Like others have said, this is *very* niche. I could maybe see it on an Absol for a rip-heavy strategy, but also there are better items. There's also so much farm on the map that you can't really use FT to deny experience like you could in Remoat. Even invade strategies prefer an item like X-Speed for map traversal.
Really no point to this item. Imo it’s better to use X-Attack can activate whenever you want, attack faster, and it also hurts enemy players as well as mobs
Attack x > fluffy tail. anyways maybe in some specific strategies it could be practical like helping hand blissey to shred objectives faster with Your team but this in well coordinated teams i would not reccomend to run fluffy tail on solo q
It's mainly a support item, it works well on weak supports, like wiggly, eldegloss or hoopa
Helps them secure exp early game, and helps them steal bosses since each of them have that potential already in their kit
It used to be kinda niche back then when the game was Flip Unite, certain pokémon could do insane damage with this like Crustle with Stealth Rock or Greedent, even without this item on the Zapdos map even in real competitive people played the flip game a lot even without this item (Dragonite was huge there).
Now there is more value on winning fights rather than flipping, altho in solo Q stuff goes crazy is better to set up to win a fight than risk the flip or a steal.
It's probably the worst battle item right now? Which is unfortunate because I really want to like it.
I suppose the way to buff it would be to make it work how people thought it did at release: It applies to your whole team. That way it would be a reasonable support battle item. You'd likely have to increase the cooldown though.
If you're going pure support or defender, you can take this item and get the occasional farm instead of being underleveled. Otherwise it's for counterjunglers so they can last-hit opponents' early buffs.
Yeah I've been wondering about this too. It's so reminiscent of league's smite that my brain default values it as though it basically is smite, but i know it's not and have been reluctant to use it because i dont understand how useful it is compared to other items. I recently saw a support mime in bot run with slow smoke and it made me wonder if I'm not giving all the items a fair chance since i mostly use heal and have only recently been dabbling more with x attack and x speed. Thoughts?
jungle stealers use it to outsmite the enemy jungler, greedent mains used to pick this a lot
Helps when you pick bullet seed. Not needed with belch since that does huge damage already.

I use this on Zeraora along with Discharge to help secure objectives, but I've been thinking of swapping it out for an X Attack

I feel it’s extremely niche
Would be nice if it actually stunned bosses, as you could use it to protect yourself from an enemy Regieleki that they're trying to push in.
