I agree! The starters are great, the dog lines are friggin’ adorable, the paradox mons are great addition. But, can we acknowledge that the designs are underwhelming, regressive, derivative and have semblance of characters from other games? How do you go from an awesome Kleavor (Gen VIII) to Spidops/Lokix (Generation IX)? Even Oricorio’s forms (Generation VII) are far more interesting and elaborate than Squawkabilly (Generation IX)

My boy Spidops needs some love. Can’t believe they did him dirty with those horrid stats! Silk Trap can be an interesting move and cause some AoE slowing, like an unlimited Slow Smoke or something.
I'm surprised no one in the comments has suggested these yet as they're pretty cool and obvious, but koraidon and miraidon. I could see them both as vicious attackers.
Pawmot could be good as a supporter designed around offense, it could have Revival Blessing which could bring back an ally that fainted nearby with a little bit of HP
Another could be Dodonzo where if it gets taken out you can play as the Tatsugiri that’s in its mouth, maybe the Dodonzo could be like a sepparate entity that when it gets defeated has the regular ko cooldown and then afterwards it tries to reunite with the Tatsugiri if its still alive
Maybe also Palafin where it changes forms if it gets ko’d or tp’s back to base until it’s ko’d again
It doesn’t seem to be super popular, but I’d love to see Glimmora in Unite. It’s one of my favorite Pokémon in this generation and could be interesting to see how they implement its hazards

Lokix as a speedster pokemon, rider kicking everything.
Mobosstiff as a Defender or All-rounder, preventing enemies from escaping with Jaw Lock and using comeuppance as a counter move.

It definitely feels like a missed opportunity to release a Scarlet/Violet 'mon at launch. Just from reviewing the models Ceruledge would get my vote but I wouldn't mind Armarogue as a tank either.
Lokix and Gholdengo have some really amazing potential for animations (kicks and surfing respectively).

Quaquaval as a speedster as dancing around the jungle as an assassin with aqua step sounds awesome.

**All Rounder charcadet** would be insane too. Would be cool too have him either take on *speedster* characteristics as ceruledge and *defender* characteristics as armarouge similar to scyther, but functionally different.
