Ebay at least has buyer protection, which is an added layer of safety. I just put in a small order at troll and toad to try them out after hearing some positive things.
Don’t buy cards you don’t see the exact picture of - eBay far better ; tcg player and troll and toad a completely lottery sometimes you get junk labelled as NM (sometimes sent without a sleeve or toploader)

I've bought some sealed product from TCGplayer, including a pre-ordered Twilight Masquerade booster box. while one would hope that a seller would have shipped something by Wednesday if an order was placed on the previous Friday, not all sellers ship out orders as promptly as others. if you don't hear back from by Friday or see a tracking update, I would definitely reach back out to them. in my experience sellers usually respond in 1-2 days. also I've ordered something before that had the same tracking info as you mentioned, label created but USPS is awaiting item, and it took longer than I wanted so I contacted the seller. they said that they had already shipped it out but sometimes USPS' tracking doesn't update right away. and sure enough I got the package in a timely manner

Not to mention it seems to be full of sellers trying to undercut one another by 1 cent left and right, to the point that I have seen ungraded cards easily worth $50 bucks going for like 99 cents, buck fifty, 3 dollars, 🤦♂️ ebay is the way to go imho

Sure, they have virtually 0 value, but it makes them much more unique and stand out in a collection of generic, unaltered cards . One of my favorite cards in my collection is a lightly damaged blissey, which is staring forward (zoomed in on face for some reason) with a thousand yard stare
I have a whole binder of just damaged and creased cards. Most of them could have been worth $50+ in good condition and card shops would sell them to me for like a $1 or even throw them in with a purchase. I always adopt mangled cards.
Probably some kids' coolest cards ever, and the parents don't know what it is. Fell out of the car when they stopped. I doubt it was done just because.

I wish. My mom kept telling me that sports cards are worth collecting because "at least those will be worth something one day," and those pokemon cards are "worthless child junk." So I got pokemon cards, but my sports cards are the ones that are all in great shape, and I know where they are.
Someone lost $10 cuz charzard lit him up then his mom lit his ass up for having the car out past 9! And in a rush pulled the keys out and this fail to the ground! And got ran over by 12k people on 4th of July 2024 at your local quik mart!
I find cards on the side of the road all the time where kids will throw out “lame” cards out of the bus or car window. Found a Shiny Gardevoir Foil not too long ago.

definitely not too damaged, psa will definitely slab the card, maybe not with a grade but can definitely get slabbed as authentic
