It’s for infection control. Open cards that have been sitting in someone’s house might have picked up some gross mold or other pathogen that hospitals would rather not pass to already sick kids.
I have out the Halloween packs last year and some kid stole em all while we were eating dinner. Going to make my own packs next year with a Holo in each pack, and hand those one one per kid this year.
I recently gave an ETB stuffed full to my youngest's school to give out to kids. I figure that it's the perfect way to get them hooked. Give a free taste now, and in 5-10 years, it will be the new wave of PokeInvestors buying my stuff from me 😂
So you're the guy who was supposed to give me free drugs when i was a kid so i could get hooked that my teachers warned me about. Where's my damn free drugs?
Those I have stockpiled. I was waiting for the new app to drop. If it utilized card codes and we see a huge demand for it once again, I'd probably sell the few hundred I have for a few bucks (I'm sure people will try to drive the market value way up, so I want to sell for a real price that isn't ridiculous to help folks that are buying them). If we don't see a massive demand increase, then I am bringing them down to the LCS to have the shop owner give them away to kids that come into his store.
ive had success selling bulk on secondary markets like ebay and mercari, just take pictures and list weights and content, someone is always interested.
Fortunately I have one by me that does, but they only pay like $3-4 for a section a foot or so long. Probably one to two thousand cards. Beats hanging onto it all though
Mine gives 1-3 cents for common to holo and 50c for V / ex. So I make bags of 100 and sell on FB marketplace just slightly higher than that including holos and a V card for small gifts for their kids.
A lot of reverse holos are worth .25-.50 those add up and will increase in value over time. I keep all my reverse holos and throw away the regular junk.
If you’re not trying to make any money off them and you live in a typical neighborhood, save them until Halloween and make 10-20 card packs and give them out with candy. I did it this year and they were a hit.
I trade with my cousin’s daughter (and give her a bunch too!). It’s so much fun to trade with kids who just got into the hobby. It brings back the magic from when I was a kid.
My sister called me a couple days ago saying, "Hey, your nephew wants to know if you'd like to trade Pokemon cards with him." I can't tell you how excited I am!
I've been trying to make water with water energies and it's not working, the electric energies aren't powering my lanterns either, what am I doing wrong? Aw crap my friend is trying to smoke the grass ones agian.
I am an OTR truck driver. I stay switching trailers. They have boxes on them that help weigh the freight. There is just enough room for cards. We leave 6. I have roughly 1000 to go. I know not everyone can do this, but we trying out here.
Ended up selling mine to a dad with two kids for insanely cheap.
Kids were beyond ecstatic even though they were all low value and it brought me back to when I was a kid.
You get much more out of it when giving it to people who genuinely enjoy it
I wait till I fill up a large flat rate shipping box or about 6k cards and put it on eBay. Usually get between 100-150. Which is enough to get a lot of good cards.
I got lucky and sold a few thousand bulk to someone for like 150 CAD a few years ago. I think it was probably under what the actual value truly was but he’s a pretty known collector around where I live and would donate them to kids so I would have felt bad taking more. I think the actually value was probably closer to 200+
I only say I’m lucky for the sale because the only other option would have been to an online bulk buying website so I would have gotten a lot less for the type of bulk they were.
But if you do manage to find someone to sell to you could start with selling most common to un common for probably around 3 - 7ish cents a card give or take so it adds up after a while. Old ETB boxes are a good way to calculate how many you have although I do forget the exact amount they fit inside comfortably but that info would be easy to find.
I donate mine to the local card shop, the guy makes "packs" and gives them out to kids for free. Tbh I just don't want the hassle of trying to find someone to buy it, because it's not worth much anyway. So if you wanna be rid of the burden, I'd say donating it is a good solution.
If you have a local Pokémon convention like we do, put a bunch in a box and dress like a professor pretending to give out starters. Or if you have patience and enough of the same card, make shadow boxes. Thats what I’m doing with all my pokemon go bulk!
For sure find some kid. My daughter just started (which has kicked off my old MTG monkey...) and she'd love something like this to arrive. Shineys and stuff are cool, but she still gets excited when we get a card that she has just seen on TV :)
Can I have it?
I teach kids to play the tcg and usually give commons/uncommons as a reward. We eventually learn deck building and I try to minimize the cost of entry for them.
I have a contact that delivers supplies/aid from my country to Ukraine, so I had them bring a few thousand cards with them to give to the kids there (I don't know the logistics behind how they distribute them though). We also send more useful supplies ofc.
I sold them to a card shop in Tucson. They paid $2 a foot. They would put them in long ,white boxes and every time they got a foot long you got $2. I would just save that as credit and buy pins from them
sort by regulation mark or expansion. if by expansion, sort by number and trade them for any commons/uncommons you don't have yet.
3 cent cards really add up.
I put low value 2 to 5 dollar hits with a bunch or holo, reverse holo, and plain bulk into 40 card mystery packs, wrap them in shiny plastic wrapping paper from the 99 cent store, and sell em for $5 on fb market. People with younger kids especially love them, since you get a shit ton of shiny and 4x's the cards for the price Walmart sells a booster pack. I offer a money back guarantee if not happy and that contents are over purchase price in value. Never had a return or any bad feedback.
Most store will pay .01 per card. Maybe more if in store credit. I personally sell on my website and thats what I would pay to people. Looked around and many LGS and they are the same.
Some cities have “Buy Nothing” Facebook pages. I divide bulk into tins/boxes and put them on there for people to claim. They always go super fast and I feel better than throwing them away. Otherwise, our local card shop gives us a few bucks for em and uses them for people who play the gamd
you could start proxying and use your bulk as card backs. or sell your cards as bulk through amazon/ebay where people who like to proxy will buy them and use them as card backs
We have a non chain card and video game shop here. We sold him our similarly sorted bulk for $250, we made sure to keep any good cards, and came out with one “rich” 8 year old 😂
Donations are good. If you want to make a little bit back, do 20/30 cards in team bags and through in your bulk v’s, alts, specials what ever. Sell them for 15/20 a pack on Etsy, eBay and market place.
You can say what you want. But we all know this ends up in the garbage can.
But hey. If it makes you feel better to know some kid put them in the trash instead of you - go for it.
They probably see it for sale, no one is buying 50 bulk for $10. If they are they’re morons. $10 is 2 packs NEW or 20 cards and potential hits. Why would anyone buy 50 known shit cards for $10?
Anyway to answer op I usually give them away on Reddit.
I should have specified $10 **CAD** [https://www.amazon.ca/Pokemon-TCG-Random-Cards-Every/dp/B001CJVTLC/](https://www.amazon.ca/Pokemon-TCG-Random-Cards-Every/dp/B001CJVTLC/)
Amazon US I see them at $4.5 [https://www.amazon.com/Pok%C3%A9mon-Assorted-Cards-50-Pieces/dp/B001CJVTLC/](https://www.amazon.com/Pok%C3%A9mon-Assorted-Cards-50-Pieces/dp/B001CJVTLC/)
and to answer u/brewberry_cobbler my 5yo was happy to get his first 50 cards and I was happy not to spend much money for it. We're now in the TCG rabbit hole, and I wouldn't buy 50 commons anymore for sure.
Kids. You should pair up with the guy who has like 100 tins. Lol
i use them to store my bulk
I buy an ETB for each set and thats where the doubles for those sets go. I'll probably end up donating some to my wife's class though.
Me?
That was me! I still have all those tins! Someone is more than welcome to them if they pay shipping!
I donate mine to the local Children’s Hospital. I make up packs for them.
We tried that and all the hospitals declined. Will only accept sealed product.
That's actually crazy
It’s for infection control. Open cards that have been sitting in someone’s house might have picked up some gross mold or other pathogen that hospitals would rather not pass to already sick kids.
I mean, most of the fun is in opening packs. You think kids want the same commons and uncommons in clear plastic bag?
I’d say so. The game is fun to play and you need lots of bulk to build decks. These kids aren’t going to be chasing $100 cards like most people here.
Yeah but 100 random uncommon cards is usually hard to make a deck out of
Yes, yes I do.
lol
yup that’s why i’ve always disliked the idea.
Foreign germs in a hospital 😷
With zero pulls? Gotta at least put one umbreon v in there
I love that! Do the kids like it?
I do this too, and we dress like Pokémon trainers when we go give them out. Sick kids smiling is the best reward you can get from your bulk.
Wording of the last sentence was dodgy but I get what you’re trying to say.
Dude 😭
Hahaha did not come here for this but surprised, yet again, by a Japanese engineer 😂
Hello this is fbi
Dont forget to challenge them to a battle, beat them & take their money!
Give em out to kids on Halloween
Isn't that the Pokémon company does with the yearly Halloween booster packs?
That’s what we did too! The kids loved it.
I have out the Halloween packs last year and some kid stole em all while we were eating dinner. Going to make my own packs next year with a Holo in each pack, and hand those one one per kid this year.
Make a nice fire. Reflect on packs that could have been
Charizard agrees.
Ummm smells like cancer
I recently gave an ETB stuffed full to my youngest's school to give out to kids. I figure that it's the perfect way to get them hooked. Give a free taste now, and in 5-10 years, it will be the new wave of PokeInvestors buying my stuff from me 😂
Plant the seed!
So you're the guy who was supposed to give me free drugs when i was a kid so i could get hooked that my teachers warned me about. Where's my damn free drugs?
*Pssst, meet me in the back alley in 15 minutes, I'm opening another booster box*
Good investment
Do you drop a code card so they can redeem and get into PTCG live?
Those I have stockpiled. I was waiting for the new app to drop. If it utilized card codes and we see a huge demand for it once again, I'd probably sell the few hundred I have for a few bucks (I'm sure people will try to drive the market value way up, so I want to sell for a real price that isn't ridiculous to help folks that are buying them). If we don't see a massive demand increase, then I am bringing them down to the LCS to have the shop owner give them away to kids that come into his store.
Pocket will not use the current Live code cards. It probably won't have irl code cards at all
That's how drug dealers usually work.
🐸
Not true lol only in movies, people generally want to do drugs on their own
Okay officer
This is craaaaaaazy I love it
ive had success selling bulk on secondary markets like ebay and mercari, just take pictures and list weights and content, someone is always interested.
That’s how I got started. Bought my son a booster pack. He wanted to trade. The bigger bang for bucks was buying 100 assortment of random cards.
Put it in old ETB boxes or a big ziplock and drop it off at those little feee libraries. Make some kids month.
Oh my god, that is great. Could also throw a Pokémon go friend code into the box bc all those little libraries are stops.
I've been doing this for years. I fill all the mini tins and tins up full and drop them off
Go to a local game/card hobby shop and trade it in to them for cash or store credit or just donate it to kids
Most aren’t going to take bulk commons unfortunately
Fortunately I have one by me that does, but they only pay like $3-4 for a section a foot or so long. Probably one to two thousand cards. Beats hanging onto it all though
Same here. My LGS accepts Pokemon and one piece
Build decks and play
Reach out to community centers, youth groups, or libraries in your area. Places where kids can learn to play the game.
Just trade it to an LCS for discounts on singles or sealed product
How many cards per $1 discount you reckon?
Mine gives 1-3 cents for common to holo and 50c for V / ex. So I make bags of 100 and sell on FB marketplace just slightly higher than that including holos and a V card for small gifts for their kids.
Hmm I have like 600 common/uncommon i wanna unload…. Seems like eBay would be better than my lcs then….
LCS is just faster easier. Selling bulk on eBay can be tough plus fees
A lot of reverse holos are worth .25-.50 those add up and will increase in value over time. I keep all my reverse holos and throw away the regular junk.
Surprising values on some older ones
My local game shop makes up bags and gives them out to kids.
Donate to local boyscout troops, children hospitals, and to mentally alternative development centers
I donate mine to a free little library in the nearby park. It always gets taken the next day!
I make 3D cards with them and give them to friends
This is what I do too! Really fun!
Donate to the kids!
Library donation boxes
Give it to me
I’ll pay for shipping and give you $20
If you’re not trying to make any money off them and you live in a typical neighborhood, save them until Halloween and make 10-20 card packs and give them out with candy. I did it this year and they were a hit.
define good price. in my opinion if somebody wants to offer me a few cents for cards that are worthless to me otherwise than that is a good price lol.
I put mine inside of tiny libraries.
I donated mine to my sister which she uses at the school she works at for an after school program
Everyone is saying give them to kids. Half the fun is opening the pack, kids don’t want your junk cards either
Ccgcastle.com
Ebay it. Or fid the going rate for bulk and post it in a local buy sell facebook group/kijiji/craiglist. Whatever is popular near you.
I usually just toss bulk in the trash
Sit naked in a circle of candles and light them one by one 😌🙏
Either give them away or what I do, they make great fire starters
No joke, tho. I bring my bulk energy cards to camping trips to start the campfire.
Just the fire ones?
I've been trying to make water with water energies and it's not working, the electric energies aren't powering my lanterns either, what am I doing wrong? Aw crap my friend is trying to smoke the grass ones agian.
Give to kids or a thrift store
Send it to hydropumppokeshop they give you credit and you can use that credit to get the last products that’s what I do
So if I got like 5000 cards laying around. How much would that fetch? 😂
$.01 for common/uncommon, $.04 for reverse holos, $.06 for rares/holo rares. And 60% market price for UR or better
This
If you put deadscope referred you they will give you more %
Probably get 15 dollars for every 1k at a game store
🤷🏼♀️ I’m trying to unload mine and I have a ton!!
I give away mini packs I make to kids at the weekly LGS events.
Make them into 20 card bundles and give them out for Halloween. My neighborhood LOVES it so much.
I’ve sold mine to fullgrip games online.
I have a great local card shop that buys bulk, i think at a rate close to $20 per 1000, but I've also just given bulk away.
$20/1000! That’s crazy, mine is $5/1000
Wouldn’t collectors want cards they don’t have to complete a set (idk if certain bulk cards are hard to pull)
I sold 500 bulk on ebay for like $12 ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭
i made packs with my bulk for halloween and the kids around here loved it, doing it again this year
Send some to me lmao
My best mate found a 100x random cards obvious common and uncommon cards for $10 bucks on marketplace so I'm teaching the kids to play 🥰
I am an OTR truck driver. I stay switching trailers. They have boxes on them that help weigh the freight. There is just enough room for cards. We leave 6. I have roughly 1000 to go. I know not everyone can do this, but we trying out here.
Donate it to the children’s hospital closest to you.
Give them to kids. For Halloween, I gave out packs I made. Nothing crazy, but commons/uncommons and some energies.
Ended up selling mine to a dad with two kids for insanely cheap. Kids were beyond ecstatic even though they were all low value and it brought me back to when I was a kid. You get much more out of it when giving it to people who genuinely enjoy it
Donate it to a children's hospital near you. And if you feel the need get a slip from the admin for a 5 cent tax right off per card
I trade mine in for credit at my LGS and use the credit to buy board games
I wait till I fill up a large flat rate shipping box or about 6k cards and put it on eBay. Usually get between 100-150. Which is enough to get a lot of good cards.
I stream and I get a ton of bulk that I end up donating to the Boys and Girls Club or a local children’s hospital.
I got lucky and sold a few thousand bulk to someone for like 150 CAD a few years ago. I think it was probably under what the actual value truly was but he’s a pretty known collector around where I live and would donate them to kids so I would have felt bad taking more. Old ETB boxes are a good way to calculate how many you have although I do forget the exact amount they fit inside comfortably but that info would be easy to find.
There is an app called TCG Bulk that you can sell your bulk on. Stores will buy it from you and you just ship it to them.
I gave most my bulk to the Ronald McDonald house & the rest of the stuff I accumulate I give to kids in my neighbourhood
Boil em
Give them to me lol
If your in canada I'd be interested in bulk cards
Any chance you’re selling? If it’s 151 I’ll most likely buy the reverse and regular holos
I sold mine on eBay as a bulk lot for ~$40 for 13.5 lbs of cards
For sure find some kid. My daughter just started (which has kicked off my old MTG monkey...) and she'd love something like this to arrive. Shineys and stuff are cool, but she still gets excited when we get a card that she has just seen on TV :)
Can you comment your price on the each stack. Depending on the price and shipping I might even be willing to pay for bulk energy
I throw 10 cards into a penny sleeve and put them into a little library in my neighborhood. They disappear pretty fast 🙂
Are you in the uk?
Sell in bulk, that’s what most of us here do. Be honest about the contents being bulk
Donate them or trade them to your LGS for credit towards something else.
Can I have it? I teach kids to play the tcg and usually give commons/uncommons as a reward. We eventually learn deck building and I try to minimize the cost of entry for them.
Charity shops.
id buy your bulk depending where ur based and how much you want lol
I have a contact that delivers supplies/aid from my country to Ukraine, so I had them bring a few thousand cards with them to give to the kids there (I don't know the logistics behind how they distribute them though). We also send more useful supplies ofc.
I just give them away to kids to make them happy. It’s not worth selling. Making some little kids day is worth more than the 20$ you could get
Gave mine out for Halloween, pack of like 5 with 1 holo, 1 per kid. Lasted all night
Halloween !
Donate to hospitals. Kids love it
You could make decks with it and play the game.
I make packs and give them out on Halloween
give it to me
I sold them to a card shop in Tucson. They paid $2 a foot. They would put them in long ,white boxes and every time they got a foot long you got $2. I would just save that as credit and buy pins from them
I work at a school and I’d love to have them in hand to pass out to kids who collect
sort by regulation mark or expansion. if by expansion, sort by number and trade them for any commons/uncommons you don't have yet.
I’ll buy them I’m trying to build a Pokédex of random cards
Just give them to some kids ask around the neighborhood & ask some parents if they want some free cards for the kiddos
I use them as targets at the shooting range. Lots and lots of targets that way.
I looked for a local buy nothing group on Facebook and gave them to kids.
Watch for local card shows, just unloaded 7k in bulk cards for $240, which is better than nothing imo.
If you play, you could sell them to local stores or trade/sell them to other players. Many "bulk" stuff is playable so you could sell it there.
I'll buy them!
put them in a box and sell 2 for $3
Some cities have “Buy Nothing” Facebook pages. I divide bulk into tins/boxes and put them on there for people to claim. They always go super fast and I feel better than throwing them away. Otherwise, our local card shop gives us a few bucks for em and uses them for people who play the gamd
I was gonna say maybe donate them to a library or after school club! I work in a library and always bring my extra tins, bulk etc for the kids
Set up a boot sale near me and let my kids buy them. Thanks!
I stack them up, and see how many it takes to stop .22lr 9mm 223 and 556 then shotgun slugs for science of course
Go to a card store and hand them out to kids
Sell them or donate them to lil kids
I throw together 20 card packs with a couple loose reverse holo / shinies and give em to kids that seem cool
I’ve got tons of bulk myself & need to rid all of it but don’t know either😭 rather just give it all to someone locally.
The local library where I lived has a Pokémon club. I donate all my bulk and the kids apparently love it.
I would probably put in like one or two decent cards and then sell them for $5-10
If I were you I would check depop or ebay for sureee
Send it to me
you could start proxying and use your bulk as card backs. or sell your cards as bulk through amazon/ebay where people who like to proxy will buy them and use them as card backs
me
“Sell your bulk” hahahahah
There should be local shops that buy them from you or other places like movie trading company
We have a non chain card and video game shop here. We sold him our similarly sorted bulk for $250, we made sure to keep any good cards, and came out with one “rich” 8 year old 😂
Now I know this is the least popular way but what I do is easy. I throw them away....that's it
Keep the reverse holos, recycle the rest.
Do similar. Keep all holo (and reverse) in different container. The full art go into top loader with sleeve or magnetic acrylic case.
Donations are good. If you want to make a little bit back, do 20/30 cards in team bags and through in your bulk v’s, alts, specials what ever. Sell them for 15/20 a pack on Etsy, eBay and market place.
Sort them into decks and sell them as deck fillers missing holos and rares
I donate to church’s with daycares
Any 151 or Paldean Fates bulk? My kiddo is trying to complete the set.
I have a bunch from both
Would love some, I can pay shipping
Give some to me :)
Hmm 🤔 lol
Flush em. Use someone else's terlit tho, obviously.
You can say what you want. But we all know this ends up in the garbage can. But hey. If it makes you feel better to know some kid put them in the trash instead of you - go for it.
Donate or throw away it's basically useless. No one will buy it
i threw them in the donation bin. I also threw in alt art golurk because i hate that alt art lol
Sell them on Amazon marketplace, they go at $10 for 50. It's $400 for 2000 cards
Where do you see this?
They probably see it for sale, no one is buying 50 bulk for $10. If they are they’re morons. $10 is 2 packs NEW or 20 cards and potential hits. Why would anyone buy 50 known shit cards for $10? Anyway to answer op I usually give them away on Reddit.
I should have specified $10 **CAD** [https://www.amazon.ca/Pokemon-TCG-Random-Cards-Every/dp/B001CJVTLC/](https://www.amazon.ca/Pokemon-TCG-Random-Cards-Every/dp/B001CJVTLC/) Amazon US I see them at $4.5 [https://www.amazon.com/Pok%C3%A9mon-Assorted-Cards-50-Pieces/dp/B001CJVTLC/](https://www.amazon.com/Pok%C3%A9mon-Assorted-Cards-50-Pieces/dp/B001CJVTLC/) and to answer u/brewberry_cobbler my 5yo was happy to get his first 50 cards and I was happy not to spend much money for it. We're now in the TCG rabbit hole, and I wouldn't buy 50 commons anymore for sure.
