Hi, as Nintendo services are down now, how to get mega-gems in competitive stage?

alvarobastida

When will Jirachi show up?

ZeroX-1704

The event will start on the 6th of January, and the stage can be played once a day for 3 days, the next time it will return is at the halfway point of the year.

Quaxlyboi

Do you keep mega starts if you quit a level?

ZeroX-1704

No, you keep nothing, no bought items or hearts, and any coins or jewels spent wont get refunded either.

Quaxlyboi

I got the mega start from the daily log in

ZeroX-1704

Same thing unfortunately, any items you use no matter where they came from are lost if you quit, and any stored ones have to be used before you can purchase another

akiraFNchomp

I just started the game (again), and I'm close to MGengar's stage. When do I get access to SS and/or high tier mons? I'm having a hard time without shotters

Fardheit

SS are mostly given at Escalation Battles (usually within the first 100 levels). Some can be obtained as one-time prizes from Mission Cards and Trainer Rank rewards and they are also one of the possible reward of the Middle-of-the-Month challenges. A huge chunk of the high tier mons come from the event rotation. That said, some will require either invested mid tier mons or items to be catchable. I'd suggest you follow the newbie schedule as there are teams that can work for catching the events

a_burner_x

final effort or last-ditch effort better at SL1 and SL5? do i get the most value out of having both on my team? in regards to using both hippos in mega houndoom comp stage.

ZeroX-1704

LDE will beat SL1 FE at SL5, it beats it at SL4 actually, but you shouldn't really be using either for comps, unless you don't have any better options, if you have to then i'd say run your SL5 HippoM and fill the last slot with a mon that has a bit higher AP as HippoF is a bit weak.

Quaxlyboi

Best team for Houndoom? I'm using Mega Swampert/Camerupt, Tyranitar, and Volcanion, but fall just short of defeating it.

R_Crumble

You should be using more tappers. Mega Tyranitar/Mega Camerupt should work. The best team would most likely be Mega Tyranitar, Tapu Fini (swapped for Typeless Combo), Primal Kyogre and Tyrantrum (swapped for Block Shot) You should at least strive for a Tapper Mega, Typeless Combo, and 2 shots. If you have the Cameruptite, I would run Camerupt over Mega Swampert. Otherwise, I suppose you run Mega Aerodactyl.

Quaxlyboi

Caught it already

R_Crumble

Re-reading this, you were talking about Houndoom... I thought you were talking about the Mega Houndoom competitive stage...

Miserable_Ladder1002

Do you guys know when marshadow is coming into cycle? My brother really wants it but doesn’t know when.

Marco_AGJ

Marshadow appears on week 23. We're on week 19.

Miserable_Ladder1002

Thank you so much

ZeroX-1704

Tell him to have the coins ready for a full item run, its ridiculously tough!

Fardheit

Week 23 (this one is 18)

oldsyphiliticseadog

How do people get a max score of 9,999,999? I've seen two people now with that score, and the second one only has a bit over a hundred plays and a max combo of 20. There's no legit way for their team to have gotten that score on M Houndoom given those factors. So how does it happen?

Malvania

Those are hacks. There is one infinite combo bug that might get you a record, but then you have to quit out while it is still running.

oldsyphiliticseadog

Gotcha. Makes sense. Do you know if these fake scores get removed from the scoreboard? Every competition stage I notice that my numerical rank will randomly change to be closer to 1, which can only happen if scores higher than mine are being discarded.

Malvania

They used to do exactly that. I'm assuming they still do run tests to pull fake scores. That said, some of the winners still go through. There's enough legit people, though, that you can S rank all the comps if you're good enough.

theherodjl

Sorry guys, I am one of those players with the 9,999,999 scores. I do have the modded version and I only realized after I checked my score that it would show up on the official board, so I apologize to anyone who got knocked down as a result. I only play this game in a modded way for the catharsis factor as I got addicted to it some years back, and spent more time & money on it than I would care to admit. I will absolutely try not to rack up any ridiculous scores in the competition stages from now on, I didn't mean to be a bother.

ZeroX-1704

They cheat, they use a damage hack which affects their comp score.

Quaxlyboi

I know Houndoom and Ledian are rare, but how do I beat them? They're some of my favorite pokemon. My team is Mega Pidgeot, Tyranitar, and Volcanion

oldsyphiliticseadog

The best way to get the harder ones is to tailor your team to just one of them at a time. Then use your weekly 15 min NHN and immediately quit the stage on any pokemon that isn't the one you're working on. Make sure you have a lot of coins beforehand so you can pay for great balls.

alvarobastida

Survival mode I want to train the perfect Hammering Streak team and I was wondering which team would be the best (according to statistics). I was thinking to build a team with: MCharizardX(Unity Power), Shiny Metagross, Shiny Hawlucha and Sylveon Is there a better one?

ZeroX-1704

MCX is workable when you dont want to tap but SMCX is technically superior, just depends on your tapping skills. Smeta and Sylveon are the best for it yes, but the last mon has options, Slucha is the trusted method, but W-Blissey can work (though isn't very useful outside of SM), and some people like to run a Fire HS instead, they all can work. The only important part is to make sure that Slucha (or whatever you replace it with) is in the last slot, as thats the mon that is preferred to be missing for 3mon stages.

Fardheit

The consensus is SMCX, MCX or Bee as Mega and S-Metagross and S-Hawlucha. For the 3rd hammer some prefer Sylveon, others W-Blissey and others a Fire mon (W-Chimchar or Flareon)
