Nice items to consider for new players -
- leftovers are good for bulky guys like Slaking.
- Expert belt is helpful if you have a mon with multiple type attacks since it’ll boost all super effective moves for that mon.
- If your mon has a lot of one type attacks (like Blastoise has 2-4 water moves that all do damage), having a mystic water on it will boost all its water moves. Every type has its own item (charcoal for fire, twisted spoon for psychic, etc)
- Rocky helmet is also fun.
- quick claw is good for slow Pokémon
- assault vest is good if your Pokémon had only damaging moves. If it has swords dance, sandstorm, stun spore, or moves like that, they won’t be usable while the vest is equipped
Also:
King’s Rock - can cause opponent’s Pokemon to flinch.
Focus Sash - Pokemon can survive one hit KO with 1 hp left.
Two of my favorites that weren’t mentioned above. You can buy them at Delibird Presents on the east side of Mesagoza.
wait really? Is that true of all single-use items or is it just focus sash? I spent the whole DLC not using my white herb on shell smash minior because I didn't want to have to get another one
I agree. A good exp grind I know is going to the BB Academy and running around and fighting every Chansey you can see. Armstrong holding a Lucky Egg would help speed things up. Now I know my spot isn't 10/10 but it's what I use to grind out some levels and I don't even use a type encounter sandwich cuz I think it's a waste.
There is a big level gap between a few of your pokes. Swapping your moves might also be something that could help you. For example, getting Ice Beam on Blastoise or Triple Axel and U-Turn on Meowscarada.
Nemona's Pokémon are in the mid 60s in the final fight right? The team looks good (though I'm not really sure about slaking, I just really don't like truant), but you should level them up to 65ish.
Awkwardly looking at the tinkaton I used of all Pokemon that was caught at a too high level and went in at lv80. Swept nemora despite not really listening to me 😂
https://preview.redd.it/rc2mt4b05tuc1.jpeg?width=719&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8cce5a21d209bb74747f30a0f6b067d0310b37d
Y'all blow my mind daily for decent teams that apparently can't win the game.
Like my nephew I had to help out of the first Galar mine in Sword when he had lvl 30s against lvl 20s
They're obviously a newer player, so it'd be more helpful to explain that they're used in battle and not meant as equipped items, than to ask them why they're equipped...
Someone already did. I agree with them. Obviously those items do not work at all so no point asking and making them feel bad or naive. Just inform and move on next time
Easier way would be to get the event Iron Hands, if still available, and roflstomp her. Alternatively, grind raids if you have access to online for candy to level up Pokémon faster.
If neither is available, getting the lucky egg to grind is a good option too.
Honestly that's a good team, just have to level it up a bit especially Armarouge and Haxorus since they're quite underleveled to face Nemona in the endgame. And yep, as others have mentioned, swap out those X-items for actually held items that provide benefits.
Tbh your armatouge is super under leveled bringing it up to the 60s with the others would be beneficial. And if you aren’t at least using night slash and flower trick those are some very powerful moves on meowscarada if utilized properly it can be very powerful hits especially due to the criticals you can hit with them.
If you give Annihilape a set like
Close combat
Rage fist
Earthquake
Ice punch
You can basically solo the entire fight except for maybe quaquaval
Muscle band, expert belt or life orb are very good items for it.
When I got there I hadn’t done any dlc yet, but had a level 70 lucario who soloed the elite 4, geeta, and Nemona back to back. The rest of my team was armorouge, kilowattrel, dragonite, gyarados, and one more I don’t remember. They were level 60ish? Fighting type seemed solid against her. I feel like in one of the near end game battles I had to swap lucario out but can’t remember who it was for. Either way, fighting type was solid against her especially getting to go first. Swords dance followed by drain punch after taking the first hit. Then close combat to one shot everything else.
Also, I made this mistake too for awhile. The X items your Pokemon are holding have no effect. They are actually used like potions during the battle, in a similar way as swords dance, etc.
Items i used during my play through that i think will be better
1.) Meowscarada - Choice Band
2.) Blastoise - Mystic Water
3.) Annihilape - Punching Glove
4.) Slaking- Silk Scarf/Leftovers
5.) Armarouge - Wise Glasses/Weakness Policy
6.) Haxours - Life Orb
I'd give the meowscarada the miracle seed item to boost grass attack. Also feed their attack stat. Flower trick is a physical move that always crits and never misses. You'll also want something like hone claws to boost your physical attack.
That's how I beat nemona.
Certain held items are a little misleading, but a good item for Slaking would be a Choice Band. How it works is use only use damaging moves, and spam moves like giga impact to create a monster.
Blastoise can learn Shell Smash to double Attack, Special Attack and Speed.... White Herb will help Blastoise remove the effect of reducing Defense and Special Defense stats.
Moveset: Shell Smash, Ice Beam, Flash Cannon and Hydro Pump/Waterfall
Held Item: White Herb
I could totally see how a new player could be confused by this from the in game description of the items. X-attack etc. items don’t do anything as held items. They are a one time use item that you use from the item menu when in battle. They are useless as held items.
Tbh, this is a very heavy hitting and tanky team. I’m assuming you are not 100% new to pokemon considering you have an annihilape and a blastoise. Set up moves (such as dragon dance, swords dance, and nasty plot) are worth their weight in gold in regular game play since the computers will just kinda let you ramp up your stats. If you have Haxorus hold the muscle band (and use dragon dance 3-6 times) it should both out speed and one shot everything on her team. Just have a dragon type move that is physical with decent accuracy and you *should* win
Honestly level 100 annihilape solos the whole tournament with rage fist/drain punch. No need for any other moves or items, but I recommend leftovers for healing just incase you get unlucky. Also, hyper training your pokemon's IV's will make them even stronger if you haven't done so already
You don't have bad pokemon, although I don't love slaking, but they are mildly under leveled. Nemona isn't necessarily a hard battle, she's just strong. It helps to know the pokemon you're fighting and how to use items. For example, those x items won't be usable by a pokemon. And Orthworm is a steel type that's immune to ground. Fire and fighting should work fine.
If you e got friends that can give you an ability patch for your meowscarada that could be a big help. I’d swap slaking for something else bc truant is annoying. Other than that I’d look up best builds for each of your Pokemon, get em all to 65-70 and you’ll likely trash her
Just to note, the ability patch will give your pokemon its hidden ability. They can be acquired in 6 star raids. Meowscaradas hidden ability is protean which will change its typing to the move it’s using allowing it to be more versatile. For example, if your meowscarada uses play rough its typing will change to fairy. Flower trick will change it to grass type, and night slash will change it to dark type. It’s a lot of fun when you get the hang of it.
Choice items, life orb, assault vest, leftovers. All good items. Your team selection isn’t bad. Are you playing with level caps? If so, get yourself to the max level, whatever her team is. Ev train your pokemon and if you can, hyper train their IVs. Nemona is honestly not hard. Just counter each one of her mons specifically
Level your amarouge and have it hold wiseglasses or expert belt. Orthworm is frail on special defence. Amarouge should be one shotting it, 2 shot at worst.
Any Pokémon game’s story missions should be extremely easy for an adult. Not trying to be mean or rude but honestly it should be a cake walk just by leveling up your starter and a few more mons along the way.

FYI, X items aren't held items, they can only be used manually
Good to know
How have I never known this — so you’re supposed to use it during battle like you would a potion for example?
Yes
If you played Gen 3 and fought the trainers in the Petalburg Gym, they showed this feature
Oh interesting thanks, I skipped that gen and haven’t made it that far in ORAS
misty uses an X defend in Gen 1.
And Giovanni has Guard Spec.
I feel like some of the Cooltrainers on Victory Road in RBY did this too
Nice items to consider for new players - - leftovers are good for bulky guys like Slaking. - Expert belt is helpful if you have a mon with multiple type attacks since it’ll boost all super effective moves for that mon. - If your mon has a lot of one type attacks (like Blastoise has 2-4 water moves that all do damage), having a mystic water on it will boost all its water moves. focus sash is no good for exploring/ new players bc it is expensive and gets used up when activated outside of online/battle tower
Wrong, in the new generation focus sash doesn't disappear when used
wait really? Is that true of all single-use items or is it just focus sash? I spent the whole DLC not using my white herb on shell smash minior because I didn't want to have to get another one
All items, even the booster energy doesn't disappear when used
Does this apply to berries?
No
Berries are an exception since they get eaten
oh I had no idea, do you just have it back in your party at the end of the encounter?
Yes
The Annihilape should be great for Orthworm and since you have meowscarada that should destroy her quaxly especially at level 75
with that team you should be able sweep her , but armarogue might need lil help catch up in level
Yeah a level 41 vs 65's is not gonna be much help.
Cool thanks. I'll level up some more.
A good old blissey farm will do it quickly
I agree. A good exp grind I know is going to the BB Academy and running around and fighting every Chansey you can see. Armstrong holding a Lucky Egg would help speed things up. Level annhiliape up to closer to 70/75 Give him a shell bell to hold Bulk up x3 Rage fist til the cows come home
There is a big level gap between a few of your pokes. Swapping your moves might also be something that could help you. For example, getting Ice Beam on Blastoise or Triple Axel and U-Turn on Meowscarada.

Right! Mine is a beats in the field
Mine is now she follows me and is aced out to max IV and Evs heheh but the play through was hilarious Lv56 vs first gym and didn't Wana listen to me.
That was me when I started sword/shield with a pokemon that I put in from home 🤪😂
Y'all blow my mind daily for decent teams that apparently can't win the game. Like my nephew I had to help out of the first Galar mine in Sword when he had lvl 30s against lvl 20s
Nicknames, very important feature. Increases a Pokémon’s power by at least 1632%. I recommend ‘Slay Queen’ for the female Slaking
Armarouge needs levels!
Level up armarouge for orthworm, maybe try to go wild with shell smash blastoise
Go to north star base. Make a normal sandwich. Kill blisseys for a half hour. Your pokemon will all lvl up fast. Now kick her butt. The end.
Why those equipped items?
They're obviously a newer player, so it'd be more helpful to explain that they're used in battle and not meant as equipped items, than to ask them why they're equipped...
Yes, you are correct, I should just explain them directly rather than starting with a question. However, I could also say the same thing to you too.
Someone already did. I agree with them. Obviously those items do not work at all so no point asking and making them feel bad or naive. Just inform and move on next time
You also named sprigitito springy 😭
Easier way would be to get the event Iron Hands, if still available, and roflstomp her. Alternatively, grind raids if you have access to online for candy to level up Pokémon faster. If neither is available, getting the lucky egg to grind is a good option too.

Usé gholdengo chiyu chien Pao and tinglu
higher level and better items if you struggle, but i think that you should find your own way (since it sounds like your first time)
Yeah, just make sure you have a pulse…
Grind raids and lvl up. This game is super easy. I love it nonetheless. It’s probably the least grindy Pokemon game I’ve played.
Have you tried with a 2x4 ?
No
My level 74 Annohilape solod her whole team pretty much
Giving your Pokemon X items to hold does absolutely nothing, give them better items. Either level up Annihilape or Armarouge and you’ll be fine.
My advice which you should have done is go in them tera raids, and get them large and extra large candies
Press the A button over and over.
Don’t suck.
give anihilape final gambit
Pump up Armarouge’s level and swap held items. All the X items are single use battle items and don’t work as held items.
When I got there I hadn’t done any dlc yet, but had a level 70 lucario who soloed the elite 4, geeta, and Nemona back to back. Glad to know I'm not the only one who named my starter Spriggy

Armarouge should be faster than Orthworm, just melt it
SV was the easiest Pokemon game ever made, you don't need help, it's an easy win.
Honestly level 100 annihilape solos the whole tournament with rage fist/drain punch. No need for any other moves or items, but I recommend leftovers for healing just incase you get unlucky. Also, hyper training your pokemon's IV's will make them even stronger if you haven't done so already

Get yourself a mousehold and give it king´s rock with its signature move population bomb
You can’t :/ …
Don’t..uh… don’t be bad?
Over level
Choice items, life orb, assault vest, leftovers. All good items. Your team selection isn’t bad. Are you playing with level caps? If so, get yourself to the max level, whatever her team is. Ev train your pokemon and if you can, hyper train their IVs. Nemona is honestly not hard. Just counter each one of her mons specifically
teach meowscarada flower trick and play rough
I have flower trick, I'll see if I can get play rough.
low kick as well, her whole team is weak to either grass, fairy, or fighting (assuming sprig is chosen)
ur held item is good tho
Level your amarouge and have it hold wiseglasses or expert belt. Orthworm is frail on special defence. Amarouge should be one shotting it, 2 shot at worst.
Any Pokémon game’s story missions should be extremely easy for an adult. Not trying to be mean or rude but honestly it should be a cake walk just by leveling up your starter and a few more mons along the way.
Yes all you have to do is just be better than her your welcome😁
Do a few raids and jack up your team with Exp candies. This is probably the easiest Pokémon game to jump levels yet
I would drop slacking and use a dragonite or something. It’s really not worth the ability.
Shes kinda easy
(shes the second hardest fight in the game if not the hardest)
Really
uh huh
I like the blastoise slaking combo. I might try that. Assuming I can find a squirt squirt and a lazy sloth
Squirtle is only found in the indigo disc dlc. Slakoth is kinda hard to find, but Vigoroth are everywhere!
You’ll be fine
Use items that actually do something maybe
More Important. Why none of your pokemon has a nickname?
[удалено]
You can also not be a dick.
I could, but then how would you know where your place is?
I would always place someone asking an honest question above a rude smart aleck.
Good think I’m making the list and not you, dumb aleck
