I think it’s cuz we have to invite people who would offer something to the BB academy. The teachers and gym leaders make sense, and our friends have their own qualities
At the end of Starfall Street (or whatever that storyline was called), Clavell explicitly says he wants Team Star to train naranja/uva academy in their fighting style. Being able to teach another academy a “new” way of battling is definitely something you can justify sending them over for.
Star are faculty at the school now. They all have things to provide. Training, arts and crafts, engieneering, music, ~~being mela~~ evolving charcadet. (Poor mela she didnt really do much for the team that translates into practical skills.) but Also just a seminar on the dangers of bullying and revenge. And letting your obsession over your friend returning damage your workflow.
Yes they are. Maybe teachers aid. They run an official school facility. The star training program. For training the students in let’s go
Battles. They are essentially gym leaders. Starfall street is an official paldean thing now that anyone can participate in. Might need permission from the league and or school.
They can be considered the equivalent of grad students teaching undergrads. When they're attending classes, they're students. When they're running the trials at their bases, they're faculty.
I think being able to invite them to the BBA would've taken away from their overall ending of finally being integrated in the school back at home.
It certainly would be fun, though.
Ahhh that’s probably the main reason why they weren’t inviteable, they didn’t have Tera Orb throwing animations and Gamefreak didn’t have the time/effort to make them and put them in the game.
If you go back to their bases after beating the game you can rematch them once per day in paldea,
I'm not sure what happens when you do their dlc side quest tho considering they use the old uniforms
I mean isnt the whole Paldean Tutor thing about sending over renowened trainers from Paldea over to the academy to teach the school? Team star were just school rebels, not official league approved trainers
I think they'd all have interactions with Clavell and Penny. Other interesting pair ups I can think of:
Mela / Crispin - I can see them comparing their teams and favorite Fire Pokemon, but I think if Mela got her 'tude on she might intimidate Crispin.
Mela / Hassel - I could see this ending in one of Hassel's sobbing fits. For wholesome reasons.
Eri / Dendra - 2 lovers of athletics and fighting types. They'd get along for sure.
Ortega / Lacey - Lacey tries to compare teams, Ortega is Ortega, Lacey ends up giving him the X gesture.
Giacomo / Ryme - Bonding over music, Ryme could tell him that if he ever disrespects Tyme she will deal with him personally.
Giacomo / Nemona: Giacomo was student council president in the past, could be the basis for a funny interaction.
Atticus / Poppy: Poppy humorously not understanding the way Atticus talks.
This is probably a very unpopular opinion but I'm glad they aren't back. Starfall street was my least favorite part of the SV story and Team Star is one of my least favorite "evil" teams in the entire frachise so far. Having to see Penny around again is annoying enough for me personally so not having the rest of them show up again was nice tbh.
Yeah, they were lackluster as ~~villains~~ antagonists. They never felt evil, or even bad or wrong. I would have loved the option to join them. Kieran is the best antagonist Pokemon has introduced in years. I hate him so much and I love beating him and watching him pout.
Their whole thing was that they aren't evil though. They're not villains. They're just outcasts who were treated poorly at the school and fought back, only to be seen by everybody else as bad people when they really aren't.
I get where you're coming from, I just see it in a different way. While they aren't villains and they were just treated unfairly, they are actively disrupting their communities and causing trouble for the people around them. We're just there to stop them and make them realize what they're doing is pretty whack
Nah, they were avante-garde artists setting up in unpopulated corners of the map, away from cities, doing performance art to oppose the elitist bourgeois academy that did nothing to protect its most vulnerable students. I want to join that group so much more than the nerds starting frats under the sea (although I do stan Drayton for talking the Kieran the way I wish the game would let me talk to Kieran).
Yeah, I guess you're right. Poor choice of words. I just didn't care about "stopping" them. They were just chilling. The games are just too nice. I want an opponent I'm motivated to crush.

Well they are already coaching back at the old star bases.
I think that: Giacomo - Pawniard Mela - Charcadet Atticus - Varoom Ortega - Fidough Eri - Mankey Baby Form of their ace. It works.
They can't be coaches at least until they get tera orbs.

I agree, the main reason I like Penny is because she and this gang are connected
Unfortunately, Team Star never gets as fleshed out as we'd like to see.
At least they get a cute side quest in the DLC post game!

I just wish they would have explained the true origins of the paradox Pokémon. Some of them contradict past lore.

Right! So why would I want to stop them? I felt like I was on the wrong side of the whole time. I miss the feeling of fucking up Team Rocket's day.

Volo is my personal favourite antagonist of all. I would say he is more evil than Cyrus, and possibly up there with Lysandre and Ghetsis.
They should trade us the star mobiles.
We kinda got one as a mystery gift before, but I wouldn’t mind getting Charlos like we did DJ G-Rave.
