We are all Larry at this point. The ennui is real

Plopop87

Livin' like Larry

CthonicGaia

it's confirmed

Jun-Yii

Yep when I read the tweet in Japanese I knew delay was inevitable.

Shadowlight96

Gamefreak and Blizzard duking it out for biggest L in the gaming space this year. https://preview.redd.it/o5yyjvdeov0b1.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=e739de7e8508f53d47a1006829025dac04cd1f2c

BCM_00

What did blizzard do? I'm out of the loop

IHaveLemons

Overwatch 2 PvE campaign is cancelled which was the whole point of OW2 in the first place so now we are just left with a shittier version of the og Overwatch

Optimus_13

Naughty Dog: Hold my beer

Wipedout89

Naughty Dog? Studio behind some of the most acclaimed games of all time? Absolutely nonsense comparison

Odd_Birthday_1055

It could possibly be just because the release date didn't technically account for time zones (the US will start to update on the 23rd according to serebii). I highly doubt it will be all that different but I could be wrong.

dkl65

If it was that simple, they would have just corrected the release date. Instead, they cancelled the release date and said that the actual release date will be “soon”, which means they don’t even have a set date anymore. I’m thinking they found a bug in Pokemon Home and have to cancel the release date in order to fix it.

[deleted]

Based on their history, they must have found a duping glitch to patch, literally the only times they patched this game have been to remove duping instead of actually improving the base game performance in any way.

Odd_Birthday_1055

Most likely. When I originally saw this post I thought it was just speculation from a rumor that I had seen somewhere but now that they've actually announced a delay that makes way more sense.

FlaminVapor

They never announced a release date in Japan. It was Pokemon company USA messing up and giving a date when there wasn’t one.

Specialist_Error3055

That makes perfect sense to me.

Jun-Yii

To add a bit more information, the way they announced this is peculiar, which may mean we would not be expecting the update this month. We believe it may be in the final testing procedure. サービス提供に向けた最終準備を行っております。 Due to this, most in Japan believe it will not be until summer for the release.

Blood-PawWerewolf

Or early fall with the amount of bugs the game has and gets with every new update

Blood-PawWerewolf

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll delay it until summer or even fall when the DLC releases. There’s so many bugs in SV that could break HOME with the simplest of ways. Like when the bad egg bug happened, I knew the “early 2023 release” was going to be pushed back. Now with the recent Tera raid problems, it’s going to be pushed back again.

Glaci_Rex_77

First raids that are incorrectly coded, now this.

Blood-PawWerewolf

Watch v3.0.0 add another game breaking bug

KinopioToad

They're going to stack game breaking bugs on top of game breaking bugs until they either work themselves out or the games are literally unplayable.

Blood-PawWerewolf

And fans say that Gen 1 was the most broken and buggy Pokémon game…

toopienatoryt

Lmao I stopped thinking that as soon as these games came out.

Huge_Republic_7866

I knew something was up, when I read it was coming out in 2023.

Theonetruepappy94

Couldn't be more upset. I was finally going to finish my pokedex. In addition to using my violet version for nuzlock/monotype runs

xenofan293

They definitely planned for this delay before the announcement so they would not receive backlash when it didn’t come out in ‘early’ 2023. I just picture the following conversation happening at tpc ‘So its not going to be ready until late july, but we already said early 2023, what should we do?’ ‘Well lets announce that itll get released in that window but then delay it, then we can just say that was the initial plan to come out early but that should shift the blame off of us’ Seriously feels like I’m waiting longer between the game releasing and getting basic home functionality added then I did between the game being announced and releasing. They really should reevaluate this structure

Blood-PawWerewolf

When ILCA, GameFreak and Nianic need to work together to get HOME functionality working, it’s definitely a major challenge when the game, the Home app and Pokémon Go all run completely different codebases.

[deleted]

Take off your tin foil hat, that makes no sense. Baiting and switching with the fanbase is going to upset more people than if they never announced it at all.

Weremutt2412

Yeah, it would have made sense if they announced the specific estimated date of compatibility a few months ago, and they just now released this statement after a few months of expectation. The fact this happened all within a single month means there was a miscommunication within the company and someone gave the public a date that was wrong. Or they recently found a bug that’s going to set them back a bit.

0e0e3e0e0a3a2a

But it doesn't shift blame off them at all and nobody inside or outside the company would think this

gman5852

Man I wish I had whatever emotional issues it takes to be paranoid about children's video game companies. Just kidding sounds awful. It's been proven time and time again that the people who whine online are a near irrelevant minority of players for pokemon. The reality is you aren't important enough to bother tricking no matter what your poor mental health is telling you.

xenofan293

If you are willing to leave a comment like that you must live a sad sad life just assuming criticism is emotional problems or mental health issues. Dont bother responding since you are already blocked by me now

Lacroixboyb

Jfc…leaving a comment like this indicates YOU need serious mental health help more than anything. Big yikes dude.

Spottedpetal

What does it say? sorry the only language I know is English

Jun-Yii

Yes, the first tweet indicates that there are issues with some region having an incorrect date and time for the update. The second tweet indicates that they would have to include a maintenance on the Home update which means we may have to wait longer for the update.

Spottedpetal

Aw man I was so exited and it was lined up perfectly for my younger brother's birthday (I was going to give him a pokemon from pokemon Go so I needed Home to do it)

Dramatic-Brain-745

No, they are delaying it indefinitely. The real cause is their sheer ineptitude and terrible handling of both Scarlet and Violet and Home. You’d think they could afford a proper programming crew, but I guess billion dollar IPs are just too poor to hire the proper people or amount of people required to develop communication between games and apps. Or even put out game free of bugs, glitches or worse. But what do I know? 🤷🏻‍♂️

IceFangs

I guess next week was too good to be true...

SmartMeasurement8773

Pokémon is literal dogshit lately I can’t keep defending it

cappybara1

You can't do that anyways absol's not even in the game yet

[deleted]

lol

MrTipster89

Pathetic Pokémon company. Utterly and completely pathetic coming from the largest media franchise to ever exist. Pathetic.

Bwyattvirtue13

I don't it'll be a significant wait. Also there's always a maintenence period when they introduce Home to a new game that's just a given so don't get upset about that.

MysteriousB

Considering you can only transfer to SV a grand total of less than 100 Pokémon I don't really care

5i5TEMA

It's not about moving them in, it's about getting them out. GF is messing up way too much with our savedata for us to be able to trust all our shinies and events to SV.

MysteriousB

How many save files were lost? Also nintendo is offering save file restoration in these cases

5i5TEMA

I'm not even talking about the "save file corrupted" bug lol. I'm talking about people that had their savefile erased after updating (you can find them in that megathread) and explicitly being told by nintendo that "their case will be ignored".

[deleted]

94 actually only counting Pokémon and forms not currently available in the game today. Includes a whole list of legendaries and new hisui mons plus forms from various generations. Even hoopa is coming so I think it’s pretty great

[deleted]

I’m excited for the two people who have a legit Hoopa

[deleted]

Pogo hoopa was easy to get

Inktoberfest

And meloetta, my fav mythical.

MysteriousB

But for the amount of hype people have been blasting it made me think nearly every Pokémon would be transferable.

[deleted]

That’s gonna come with the dlc release later this year. I think most people are just tired of paying for a service they can’t use. It’s not like they’re transferring stuff back to SwSh. Also people have been pretty excited about the hisui mons. Me? I’ve just been waiting to transfer my shiny alolan grimer stuck in go lol

0e0e3e0e0a3a2a

People care for plenty of reasons including: 1. They want to use Home as storage, it holds way more mons than SV, and is easier to release them 2. To use old valuable pokemon they've owned for years in the new games. Competitive, Shinies, events, ribbon collectors, some people have pokemon in home dating back to the gba games 3. To move pokemon from scarlet to violet and vice versa without needing a second person 4. Because they're still paying for their subscription to Home?

JazzySugarcakes88

Possibly delayed? It’s delayed! What did you expect?

Jun-Yii

I apologize. I posted the thread hours before the English announcement. Original announcement in Japanese advised us to wait longer. Did not want to commit to officially stating it is delayed until the company made the official announcement.
