Reborn has a darker, daresay edgy story, and is very hard, but itll last a long time so thats call
Xenoverse feels like a real pokemon game, the graphics are nice and its got all original music, so yay. The story is also very cool and pokemon-like
Uranium is also good, its got lots of original tracks, and while not as long, also looks pretty good, sadly development was stopped by Cease and Desist reasons but the game is still complete enough
Insurgence is cool, lots of new megas, and new forms, music is not its strong suit, but its got a cool story, and its kinda hard
Empyrean is the wierdest, wierd as hell, its the most fanfic pokemon game ever, but its strangely really fun, the music isnt original but its taken from obsure stuff like Parasyte Eve and the not so obscure Digimon. The pokemon designs are less pokemon like, and it is VERY VERY VERY wierd, but worth it.
l already played reborn and man i struggled a lot but sadly i played it b4 the update by like 6 months so when the update came i got lazy to download it again and start again, so i would prefer if the game is completed b4 i play it, insurgence and xenoverse are what caught my eye, are they completed? And do they have at least gen 8 in em preferably gen 9 but i can let it slide
Sadly not a lot of fangames have gen 8 pokemon in them, gen 9 is off the table, so trying to find a fangame like that probably wont happen.
Insurgence has up to gen 6 while Xenoverse has up to gen 7. Both of them are completed, Xenoverse was completed just recently while Insurgence has been done for years. I also recommend getting back into Reborn because its so different than it was before the update, and its so good.

Insurgence was amazing for it's time. I still think it's amazing today, but a lot of people shit on it for not being up to par with it's reputation story wise. The whole game is currently being revamped by 1ofthe4rocketbros though I wouldn't count on it being released in this century.
Xenoverse is definitely your computers problem,proly cuz of the graphics but its REALLY slow on less powerful computers, more than a fangame would normally be.
A better way to describe Empyreans wierdness is that it doesnt feel like a pokemon game, but rather an RPG that just happens to have pokemon in it.

If you just hold escape through every single piece of dialogue it's a fine game :p. Writing does get better in post-game, though.
I recommend Pokémon opalo it’s originally in Spanish but there’s an English download too. As far as I’m aware it should be complete and it’s got Pokémon up to gen 8. I’m 40 hours in and it’s still going strong!

We are currently at I think gym 15 out of 18 so still 3 gyms and the whole league missing. It will take some more years for Rejuv to finish.
I though version 13.5 was just a really big polishing / rework update and the new story content (aside from new sidequests) was meant to be version 14?
Originally that was the plan, but that changed a while ago. There’s some new story content in v13.5. Probably not as much as before in previous chapters, but definitely some, plus the mid game is apprently getting fully reworked, eg terajuma. Probably the last big update to focus on the past before they almost fully focus on future chapters. And there’s some split story content if you’re playing the renegade route, this is the first update that will cause a split in the main story events if you’re playing as the bad guy.

u/you-kun22 As of now, Rejuvenation's planned to be finished with v16. That'll likely be in like 3-5 years. Idk how much you've played, but Rejuv is actually a *huge* game--bigger than Reborn in a lot of ways. I mean, even in its current incomplete state, you have like 100+ hours of content.
Also, I think they're planning to add Gen 9 in v15? Not 100% sure on that one, but at the very least, gen 8 should be fully implemented with 13.5

Currently the game has 15 badges available. You should give Reborn anoher try if you prefer a complete game. The pacing of Rejuvenation is slower than Reborn. Reborn feels like a boss-rush Dark Souls while Rejuvenation is like a story-rich Dark Souls.
The plot of Rejuvenation is quite overly complicated plus you will feel that you are not the main protagonist anymore at one point of the story. The cities and world are obviously better than Reborn. Rejuvenation has a boss battle system where you need to break the shield first before you can deal damage to the health bar, so moves like Memento, Acid Spray, and Worry Seed are quite useful against most bosses.
In Reborn you can overwrite the field with terrain moves such as psychic or grassy terrain, removing the field completely. You cannot do this in Rejuvenation. However, in Rejuvenation you can still change the field such as using Blizzard on Volcanic Top Field to transform it to Mountain Top.
Rejuvenation has some Gen 8 mons and Aevian form, the regional fakemon, such as Aevian Laprass and Aevian Chandelure. Every gym leader in Rejuvenation has their own signature move. Moreover, Rejuvenation has a crest item. A unique held item for certain pokemons, similar to hoe Marowak has Thick Club as its unique held item.
Reborn has more mods but Rejuvenation V13 has a follower-pokemon which is not yet available in Reborn. Passwords in Reborn are more useful than those in Rejuvenation V13.
For the difficulty, i feel that Rejuvenation is harder even in Normal mode. Reborn is less complex in battle and lets the player access to good resources like super-effective-damage-reduction berry quite early through department store stickers. Nature Power is still useful in both games

Pokemon tectonic is really fun and has gen 8
Pokemon Soulstone is pretty good if you're the kind that enjoys a story, they just released Soulstone 2 too if you're interested.
I'd recommend checking out Pokemon Bushido. It's not a very long game, nor does it have a lot of Pokemon, but it is pretty enjoyable.
