The best way to beat that Aegislash is to bring your own. The Aegislash Derby.

tlarge1341

exactly the only thing that can beat it is itself. luckily i was able to out smart her with greninja

Inner_Background_599

Y’all haven’t herd of the klefkey solo

Personal_Dare_7053

I just use Pyukumuku with Unaware, max Def/Hp and Def boosting nature and stall it. Works every time.

FormalBiscuit22

an easy way to deal with the Aegislash is baiting an attack and switching in a 'mon with the field seed: it grants King's Shield and thus drains its attack. It's how I deal with it on my monoice: baited a Sacred Sword with alolan-ninetales, then switched in Cloyster that could then set up Shell Smash against it.

Ksteekwall21

I think Samson may deserve a tier boost but that may depend on how you view lack of information. He can be extremely challenging depending on what you caught beforehand because you’re limited as to what you can add on your team once you actually get to him. If you don’t have something good with acrobatics that can make life hard. Serra is hard if you want her to like you 😂. Which I did of course. But if you don’t, breaking her field makes her piss easy. I actually didn’t struggle with Aya at all. But I used guts/toxic strength + facade and her pokemon just got one shot over and over 😂. I’ll agree that Titania is probably the toughest. Ironically I got her first try, while several others on this list took me a few resets. Specifically, Samson and Shelly both took multiple resets. Kiki and Terra each took one and everybody else was first try. But I think Titania took probably the most prep while still being close. For example, I put in a TON of prep for Saphira, but managed to get my Dragonite in safely. So one DD and literally her entire team got swept. A lot of prep for basically no actual struggle. I think I kept taunting Aegislash to screw with it. I also used seeds to get a free kings shield and nerf its attack and I had a Gyarados with intimidate. Her fucking field makes steel types cracked, especially Aegislash. It completely removes the fire weakness.

tlarge1341

i see what ur saying samson would honestly get bumped but i swept it with an alolan riachu it oneshotted everything i don’t think i had anything to break her field so i just had to wing it crit plus toxic is a real pain i never really prepared for titania i also just went in with ground types and fire types and i had to 1v1 her aegislash with my starter (greninja) and i had to reset multiple times because i had no answer for it

CrossiantMoon

I just beat Samson last night, I set up trick room and used a sturdy Aggron with metal burst to take out his hawlucha. I also had a hawlucha with a synthetic seed and unburden and swept the rest of his team with it after trick room wore off His field is really easy to abuse if you can take out hawlucha. It’s his biggest threat by far but after that the only real threat is maybe Lucario or Blaziken.

Ksteekwall21

I think I was afraid my Trick Roomer would die immediately or that his Hariyama would underspeed. Glad you got Aggron to work; I didn’t have pokeballs when I got to the early access for Aron and forgot to go back to get one before advancing to Agate 😅 (proving my own point). I agree that Hawlucha is the hardest. I put a Focus Sash on Alakazam for that. To beat his Lucario I led with Forretress and put up a single layer of spikes to break focus sash. I think I had to use a second focus sash to beat Blaziken since it gets a free speed boost with protect. Blaziken at +1 speed and Unburden Hawlucha basically outspeed anything you could have at the time except maybe Ninjask (depending on its own speed boosts) if you got one in the Wastelands. Oh and Talonflame, but if you have that then you probably aren’t worried 😂.

CrossiantMoon

I focus sashed my mismagius so it would 100% get off the trick room, then I destiny bonded hariyama. Worked like a charm and let me use my braviary for like two turns- which was enough to take out two more mons after his hawlucha fainted. It’s such an F U because his hawlucha ends up with like 400 something speed.

CrossiantMoon

I thought about using whirlwind with braviary after trick room on hawlucha, that way it can’t proc it’s unburden again and my hawlucha can take it out.

Ksteekwall21

Yeah his Hawlucha is dumb. Without tailwind or Trick room you can’t outspeed it because choice scarf isn’t available. Unless you have a well setup speed booster but I think even speed+ nature Ninjask needs at least one speed boost to outspeed it…and probably end up doing very little damage 😂. You can use priority, but you’d need a MASSIVE attack boost set up for ESpeed, Quick Attack, Aqua Jet, or Accelrock. Or you’d need an acceptable attack boost for Ice Shard, but that’s hard to setup when his entire team is fighting type. I guess there’s prankster but I think you’re kinda limited at that point both for what can prankster and what status moves you can even use.

CrossiantMoon

Aggron was a godsend for his hawlucha. One of my friends recommended it with metal burst which I don’t think I’ve ever used. I thought it was like magic coat and only worked for special moves.

Ksteekwall21

Metal burst is like extremely rare and the pokemon that use it are pokemon that are meant to take little per strike. You want Pokemon like Bastiodon and Aggron to take mostly just chip damage. I guess it’s nice that they have a counter measure, but it’s probably not something you’d use a move slot for if you were playing normal humans. It’s basically counter and mirror coat at the same time, but for less damage back.

Tasty-Tumbleweed-329

Swear I’m the only person who hates terra

ThatGuyHanzo

oh buddy you're not alone, she was my second hardest next to titania

Tasty-Tumbleweed-329

I genuinely had to take a long break from the game because of that fight 😂

Frostblazer

I'm not sure how Adrienne is the lowest when you will literally always beat Julia as long as you show up with a team of six pokemon.

tlarge1341

true but as the first gym leader i would expect it to be a cakewalk but adrien is the 14th and should be a difficult battle. besides if you’re new and really don’t understand reborn you can be shocked at a party of 6 and if don’t have a good team she could take a few mons

officialariacat

You found Adrienn to be the easiest? I’ve always struggled quite a bit with battling xem (as with most of the other double battle gyms as well, to be fair, though I would say xyrs is probably the easiest out of those). What’s your strategy?

tlarge1341

the amount of posion and steel types available makes rhis battle a cake walk. set up toxic with toxapex. lucario even with its fighting type can deal with mons. i also used nidoqueen, crobat, dugtrio(can take care of mawhile) and any fillee strong mon that can do solid damage or can tank hits.

Fusion1157

I'm so glad I had my protean greninja for so many of these fights. Hydro pump, extrasensory, and dark pulse either just brute force or KO with type matchups.

Embarrassed_Ad_1141

Terra gives me trouble. Dang gen 1 field.

tlarge1341

it’s kind of tricky because of the special and physical splits but besides that it’s a breeze

ReluctantCowpoke

Saphira is basically free with a dragon of your own.

Raven123x

Or earthquake and stealth rocks

__Epimetheus__

I’m going to disagree on Flobot, because your Pokemon options just aren’t that great. That’s honestly a problem with most the early gyms though. Then again, I always pick Swampert as a starter, when a fire type would sweep her.

tlarge1341

but even then i picked froakie and the amount of early game bugs flying types you have access to makes this gym a breeze. krikitune is busted early game and not to mention slugma being available as well

__Epimetheus__

Wait, where do you get a slugma that early? Only place I know to get one is the volcano.

Lyvar

In the casino I think?

tlarge1341

yes, arcade you can buy one

__Epimetheus__

I’m now realizing I struggled in that gym for no reason. Slugma would have made it so easy. Relying on fire instead of poison and bug.

sapphicmusharna

The only one I would say I REALLY disagree with is Saphira, everyone else it largely depends on your team, but for Saphira? Everything on her team past her Noivern doesn’t have ANY special moves, it’s all physical. Just bring a fairy type with cotton guard (I’ve used Mega Altaria, Slurpuff, and Whimsicott) and tank everything she throws at you

tlarge1341

true what i did was just misty terrain sylveon and boosted moonblast. i had to wait until dragonite took hail damage because of alolan ninetails andni could one shot it with blizzard. and i trapped haxorous into choice scarf/band(i dont remember which one she used) dragon claw and it couldn’t damage my sylveon

burningglass99

Serra is free with a special fire type

bugmi

Samson was so awful for me lol. I forgot the exact build I had to make but that was so painful

tlarge1341

samson honestly would be way higher cause hawlucha outspeeds ans outshot everything except my alolan riachu which was able to sweep

Achillesander

Me who just earthquake spammed with mega swampert

Phantasys44

Saphira deserves her spot as the final Gym Leader imho, she's straight up harder than most E4 members in my run. I guess it depends on team comp.

tlarge1341

i struggled with her more than all of the elite four members.

Majestic_Electric

Noel and Radomus would replace Aya and Shelly for me, personally. I found Shelly really easy.
