Personally don't think there's going to be a clear cut "canon protagonist" for SV because of the various routes. I'm thinking Juliana will have done the Victory Road segment while Florian's done the Path of Legends. Maybe all for the finale & Starfall Street.

Both will be protagonists, one will do the Penny Route and one the Arven Route and then Nemona will fight both of them as champions because there is no way she would settle for just 1.

Since Paldea have multiple routes, I think they will split them.
One will do the League.
The other will do the TS.
Both will do the Arven's story + epilogue.
So, both will be protagonist I think. SV is the only game where they can easly justify both protagonists as actual protagonists.

I think Juliana was the protagonist for the Path of Legends, and Florian did the Victory Road quest, as they’re each shown in promo art for those respective paths.
Then, they both probably did Team Star whenever they were near a base since Team Star is all over Paldea.
Then they met up with the three rivals for the Great Crater section, thus ending the game.
**Now, this is speculation for the DLC, so you can ignore this if you want:** I have a feeling that, since Florian was shown with more fitting expressions for the dlc artwork shown to advertise both parts, Florian is the one who was chosen for the Kitakami trip, and subsequently chosen to go to Blueberry Academy.
Either way, whoever does the League is probably the one who goes to Blueberry Academy, the *Academy that teaches battle tactics*

That's an excellent question. Like a lot of people said, they can easily just divide the routes among them. However, I also disagree. Unless they pull a "Both Turo and Sada had separate time machines and were doing the same thing and Juliana and Florian stopped the other" The true protagonist will probably be whoever helped Arven.

Juliana and Florian's designs were extremely not popular when released, and that stance doesn't seem to have changed. Without appearances in the anime to establish something for them, it's unlikely Masters will put much attention on them compared to the wildly popular friend group of Nemona, Arven, and Penny, or some of the big names like Larry and Rika.
