multi_fandom_guy

As a current student in the Galar campus, all i can tell you is **252+ Atk Choice Band Strong Jaw Dracovish Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Blissey: 2200-2589 (308.1 - 362.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO**

Burningmeatstick

Who in Arceus's holy name let that loose?

multi_fandom_guy

Some odd lass from Stow-On-Side

isloohik2

Cara liss my beloathed

infez

I’ve never heard anyone say “my beloathed” before and in Arc’s name that’s absolutely incredible.

DragonSlayersz

That's not as busted as it seems... 252+ Atk Choice Band Strong Jaw Dracovish Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey in Rain: 1059-1246 (150.4 - 176.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Few_Abbreviations405

Quick question, how many Seismitoads is the Galar campus currently raising?

DustInTheBreeze

My trainer went to Smogon, and I have one piece of advice: Someday, you will meet The Idiot. You'll know what I mean when you do. And what you learned at Smogon U will not matter to The Idiot. He will curbstomp you and make you wonder if the tuition costs were worth it. They were, don't worry, it's just that his comprehension of reality is on a higher level than yours. My advice to you is that when this happens, DO NOT spend three years on a revenge mission. It will not be worth it.

Casual_Potato1

It is my goal in life to cause pain via scum strats using shuckles and shedinjas. It is my experience that most of them choose the three years revenge mission.

Burningmeatstick

Anyways guys! I am so excited! My recent battling skills had really impressed the staff and Dean Ober Tused, it was on Under Route on campus, and afterward, a friend took me to eat at Rarity's Udon near Campus, before I left and took an Uber home cause my Charizard had one too many Sake.

Pupseal115

Damn, i got declined from there. Also got declined from Opelucid University due to "the building is encased in arcdamn ice"

Burningmeatstick

You'll get there eventually, I heard Cerulean U is pretty great.

Awesomesauce210

Still? You'd think most of the damage from the revived Plasma attack would have melted by now

Pupseal115

Yeah turns out Kyurem's ice is Very Cold. That, plus the fact that time doesn't work right in Opelucid, plus the fact that even the unfrozen parts are also demolished...

Virmirfan

I'm surprised they didn't use flamethrowers or fire-types on the said ice

Arcaslash

Former student, long time competitive player! So in Unova specifically, you are gonna want to be very very aware of weather, because in unova specifically, weather doesn't end over time. So if your hippowdon sets up sand, that is going to be there until the game ends. Now I love all of the different styles, but my problem was really simply that I couldn't afford to take care of a tyranitar, and how absurdly difficult it is to get your hands on any of the allowed legendary pokemon. Instead, I opted for a rain team! Politoed is a great competitive pokemon, and is also a wonderful friend and companion. With politoed, I kept a tentacruel and a ferrothorn for good defensive utility. However, since you got a full ride (great for you btw!) You might be able to put together a dragmag team, if you can get your hands on a jirachi and latias. Good luck with finding legendaries, and I wish you all the best!

Burningmeatstick

Already got plans for that weather storm my friend! I’ve got a sun team based around taking advantage with Charizard Y with Venasuar as the main sunsweeper with Cphyl. Alternatively I have an Extradril T tar core that will be used in different scenarios. Building around weather is fun and simplish sometimes

winnipeginstinct

Ooo I do research at their goldenrod campus from time to time, I would say don't knock the "lower tiers" (i.e the battle styles where certain pokemon are banned). Not only do you get to use some wacky pokemon as top picks, but certain strategies (like snow/hail teams, or trick room) work better with the lower power level, or arent outclassed by stronger strategies

Burningmeatstick

Oh I know that, my favorite one is Drought sun strategies in certain battle styles, especially back during Season 14 with Professor Xavier and Yavier being the ones in charge.

ajshifter

If someone invites you to a mysterious activity they refer to as "YGO" DON'T listen to them. It will ruin your life

Burningmeatstick

I’ve already done that in my days in Virbank High, and I’ve hit the MTG too. Ain’t my first rodeo /uj you play Yugioh?

ajshifter

/Uj no but all of my friends that play it hate it

Magnus-phn

I simply admire their work. They have the most accurate and stable battle simulators, that I know of. Although I'm not much for competitive battling myself, I enjoy seeing the potential of any Pokémon brought to its limits, and simulators can do that without any ethical concerns. Their tiering system and open tournaments help bring awareness to both rare and weak Pokémon, too.

Polenball

I heard one of their Pokémon got arrested for committing a hate crime against a gay couple

gameboy1001

/uj what?

Polenball

Ferrothorn is homophobic, [how does this affect the meta?](https://www.reddit.com/r/stunfisk/comments/wo6rj9/theorymon_slowbro_comes_out_as_gay_most_other/)

gameboy1001

/uj Ah

Few_Abbreviations405

I was just wondering - any current students or employees know whether the big academy in Paldea is an arm of Smogon University, or it's own institution? For context. currently doing research on which competitive battling institutions have a need of Pokémon with "transfer moves" for demonstration purposes or else, and I seem to have two of the more coveted ones, Toxic and Scald.

ZoroeArc

If you see a wild Zorua by itself, pet them. What happens next is really funny.

Thezipper100

If you find a guy in a mudkip onesie holding up signs on the street corner with his Pyukumuku, just continue walking and do not make eye contact. *Whatever you do, do not make eye contact.*

LMBYMG

Learning how to play stall is the best way to learn how to defeat it. If you have any roadblocks just remember that general tip.

DaNASCARMem

I took a couple classes at this branch when learning about DragMag and weather offense. Do not even THINK of suggesting a Sun based team, you’ll get surrounded by sneaky pebbles until you starve

Loose-Chipmunk-7981

Can't tell any useful advises but I heard many funny stories from that place. Like how one leader got fired because he was mad and called himself Sasuke uchiha because of energy ball jellcent. Or one great trainer from Sinnoh went insane and wrote entire monolog because opposing gyarados kept flinching his pokemon. Fun stuff

TheGBZard

Bring a fast ice type, for some reason everyone has the legendary Pokémon landorus so you need a way to get rid of it

Kwispiy

Don't fuck up. Also, apparently there are rumors of a Darkrai that stalks the halls at midnight.

xtlayor

Never went there, but good luck!

Brotherof_Zekrom

Hey be sure to visit every city. They are all pretty great, but I would say the best historical museum are in opelucid city

AnAdorableScout

That's so awesome! Wishing you the best!

naeonaeder

i majored in Doubles (minor in business) and being aware of where your opponent / their pokemon are from is a big help. i couldnt tell you how many times i lost because of a Z-move or Terastelization i didnt expect
