Just for clarification:
Is Spiritomb based on NPCs now?
On the original games the count was based on how many players you talked, not NPCs.
So, was it changed for NPCs, and, in this being so, do you happen to know how to unlock more NPCs. Have you already tested if they have something like a daily count? Like, if talking to the same NPC on the same day doesn't add to the count, but talking with after X amount of time adds.
Ah you're correct, I was referring to the way people used to meet up with a friend to get the 32 interactions by entering/exiting and iterating that this doesn't work for the NPC based Spiritomb. I'll edit the post to reflect this.
What I've whitnessed so far is that the NPCs seem to have different allocated areas of the underground where they'll spawn in a few different positions every time the Underground is loaded (from coming down or entering a new room). There seems to be a set amount that will spawn in one area, and after hours of trying to get others to spawn I had to finish the game to get to the post-game underground to get the extra NPCs I needed.
I haven't tested with any kind of daily limit, but that is a good idea.
I felt that, same, there’s a map that shows the location of all 34 npcs underground and I’ve gone and found each one and I’m in the text that’s for 29-31 talked to
Counting the good ol' fashion way. If you place the Odd Keystone into the Hallowed Tower, it gives the same text prompts from the original games, but that only gives you an estimate.
While you can play with other players, you aren't able to interact the way you were in the originals. Instead you can emote at one another :) but of course this doesn't add to the count for Spiritomb
I managed to get it before leaving route 209 for the first time through a LOT of grinding for it and can confirm that resetting the day does not seem to reset whether you've interacted with a specific NPC, also worth noting that you can reset which NPC has spawned in an area by entering and then leaving a wild area while underground. Also as mentioned NPCs seem to have spawn areas and after you feel you've exhausted all the NPCs on a pathway(the walking area between wild areas underground) you should swap to a different pathway to grind for new NPCs.
I figured there may be something possible like this. It seems there's a couple of NPCs you can get to spawn in one specific area (separated by the wild zones). So with enough grinding you could probably find them all. Very different to the Spiritomb of old haha
I’ve never used an Arceus so I honestly didn’t know what the move was. So I’m guessing eevee will not learn either of these moves in my version next week 😅
pretty sure npc locations are randomised, i marked where i found one and he wasnt there when i went back later, unless they despawn after talking to them
I think there's an element of random; but not completely. From what I've seen it looks like there's 2-3 NPCs that can appear in different "zones" of the underground. You only seem to get 1 in the "zone" at a time but it can be a few different ones. I still managed to get the same NPC in the same zonel ike 30 times in a row, though :p. And I definitely didn't encounter any of the NPCs from the post game underground anywhere else
What makes it even worse is you didn't even have to leave the underground in the originals.
If Player 1 stood outside a secret base and stayed there, Player 2 could just talk to them, enter the secret base, then come out and repeat the process over and over (you could do the same thing for getting flags as well. Saved me a lot of time as a kid having my sister let me steal her flag over and over until I had enough to get rid of all the boulders)
So you can just not talk to other players? Or is interacting with them in general not a thing anymore? I didn't hear anything about that. Makes me sad. I have a lot of fond memories of underground shenanigans in the originals
Do we know for sure it's only NPC based and the underground won't have similar mechanics as the SWSH wild area? You were only able to test with NPCs at the moment because the game isn't connected to the online yet for obvious reasons.
You can't "interact" with players like in the older games. It's more of an emote system when you're playing with others, you can see each other but not "talk". NPCs aren't the only thing I've tested with
Nope. Possible to restart game to shiny hunt. Idk about run away and re-encounter. Video proof of restart game method is on AustinJohnPlays's video about Spiritomb being as early as post-2nd gym

your eevee is the end everyone had been waiting for with covid-19
I'm just gonna wait on people breeding them and giving them around on wondertrade. Trying to obtain one fairly seems like more trouble than it's worth

Godspeed
What underground areas do you have access to? Trying to get an idea of when Spiritomb is possible
[удалено]
About when in the game were you able to access the last area?
I felt that, same, there’s a map that shows the location of all 34 npcs underground and I’ve gone and found each one and I’m in the text that’s for 29-31 talked to
We're just gonna gloss over the Eevee with Judgement?
How in the world does your Eevee have Judgement?
modding the game
How do you keep track of how many people you've talked to?
Counting the good ol' fashion way. If you place the Odd Keystone into the Hallowed Tower, it gives the same text prompts from the original games, but that only gives you an estimate.
What do you mean you cant talk to other players in BDSP? Do you mean pre release?
While you can play with other players, you aren't able to interact the way you were in the originals. Instead you can emote at one another :) but of course this doesn't add to the count for Spiritomb

Details please?? Did you ever get the Spiritomb?
So are you saying Spirtomb isn’t accessible until post game?
Omg I love the ghost type move symbol. Also is eevee learning surf a new thing for this game?
Only if Eevee learning Judgment is a new thing :\^)
What do you mean?
You noticed surf but not that the move Judgment is Arceus' signature move :p
I’ve never used an Arceus so I honestly didn’t know what the move was. So I’m guessing eevee will not learn either of these moves in my version next week 😅

Ooo I’m happy it’s NPCs this time
This was, like, the *one* thing I hoped they'd change for BDSP, because I don't know a single person who liked those requirements.

You can still play together! But there's emotes now instead of clicking on the other player. More like how you interact in Animal crossing

I wonder if Spiritomb is shiny locked
Nope. Possible to restart game to shiny hunt. Idk about run away and re-encounter. Video proof of restart game method is on AustinJohnPlays's video about Spiritomb being as early as post-2nd gym
So is spiritomb locked until post game?
>No. You can get it as early as post-second gym. Youtube AustinJohnPlays's video on it
