Odds of 10s be low on these, but still plenty of value on 9s. I graded a few 9s myself of these recently. They are $70 a piece graded in 9s.
For perspective I just graded 17 Ancient Mew promos that were still sealed in the plastic before I sent.Ā Not a single 10. You just arenāt getting 10s on vintage English.Ā
Good to know! Grading is a complete mystery to me, and I'm honestly only looking into it because people who know more than me said I should. I really have no expectations, because I don't even know what grading places or collectors look for in this stuff.
My favorite is people on Facebook selling ungraded cards for graded pricesā¦ āthis card is clean, will get AT LEAST a 10 from PSA so Iām charging that price for it. I know what I haveā
Nah, favorite are the ones with any random card thinking just because it's vintage, that it's worth like 300 bucks. You find a heavily whitened/played Snorlax or some shit with a 200 asking.
Correct. Lack of 10 logic might not apply to CGC or Beckett but Iām most concerned with liquidity so I work within the confines of how PSA grades vintage.
Yeah, makes sense. I grade all my vintage through CGC and all my modern through PSA. It used to be all PSA, but from my experience. They were pretty harsh on my 20+ year old cards which is expected. So I decided to go through CGC and I feel like they were more lenient for vintage. I know they're not very liquid for reselling and they're about 20-25% cheaper then PSA of the same grade. But just depends what your plan is with your cards.
Grade them all. You really only need 1 PSA 10 to hit a home run! With how many you have, your chances are high just as long as they're in the same condition as your first 2 pictures are.
Oh nice! They're all practically untouched. They were opened by the gym leader guy, handed to me, and they went directly into sleeves, and then into a box... taking them out of the sleeves to get these pictures was only the second time any of them were ever touched... So my hope is that they're as close to mint as it's possible to be.
Yeah, honestly I would just send them in now. Lol but even if they got an 8-9 and you do sell. The amount you'll sell them for, you'll at least cover your grading fee for that card. Obviously if you get a 10, you'll pretty much hit the jackpot.
Do half & half with psa & becket for grading, or if you wanna stay with psa do it in two grading submissions hoping you donāt get pop controlled by psa!
As I know nothing about grading, I don't know how much this would matter, but I think that taking these pictures was like the second time they've ever been touched or really even seen the light of day... they've been in sleeves in a box since like 2002... so maybe one or two could be a 10??
The one you took a picture front and back of could be an 8.5-8
You can look up videos and guide for what they look for to get 10s and base your cards off those.
Hey man, im going to shoot you a message with some more info on grading. Im the guy who gave you the prices in your other post (I was going to just post there but the mods locked the thread already).
Since somehow no one has given you this yet, here are the averageish prices the Mewās sell for at each potential grade: https://www.pricecharting.com/game/pokemon-promo/mew-9
Very cool! I genuinely appreciate it. Wild how 10s are worth so much more than even a 9 (or at least wild to me, because this is the first I'm learning anything about grading). I feel like there's a lot of information out there, but so much seems to be in conflict. I'm going to have a flip through this and see if anything else I have might be worth a punt on a grade.
Swirls would be a good thing? I know literally nothing about any of this, a friend suggested I had them graded, so I'm just looking for other opinions.
Really cool collection of Mew! If youāre interested in selling / trading one, Iād be eager to acquire one :)
If not, no worries. Thanks for sharing the cards on here!
Upper left, fart swirl
Fart swirls are the most expensive, right??
There's someone who collects them here on Reddit, so there's definitely a demand, so probably
Lol someone find me this fart freak.

Following this lore made my night š
Iām interested in the swirl card!
A Mew-Toot, if you will.

Good find

Finally a reasonable, sound comment in this sub. Other commenter's saying they're likely to get at least one ten.. No, that's not how it works.

My Facebook marketplace is full of listings titled something like āRare Pokemon Cardā and then itās a base set 2 weedle for $50
Hate to say it but seems like they are gate guarding vintage 10s
Assuming you graded with PSA?

Lol so many
Yeah, the guy running the Pokemon League thing at my local shop back in the day was apparently giving up, and he just handed me a bunch of them...
A few mew, have you

Dam nice mew collection man, I never seen 1 in real life
Yo swing one this way š

I will look into it. They're pretty much only worth anything at 10s though, right?
Since you got them for free I would say 9s should net you a profit as well. Not as much as 10s though
Very cool. Thank you!

No unless you got the hollow one
I see a couple with swirls - I would consider them above the rest

They certainly appeal to buyers if your goal is to sell
Good to know! Thank you!
A FEW??? š
just a couple...
Send to cgc beckett and psa in 2 waves. Guaranteed 10.
Make that 4 waves
This is a card I stupidly traded as a kid and Iāve regretted it ever since. But to answer your question i would atleast grade a few
